Giveaway: Witches of East End – Signed

Darn that Barnes & Noble Giveaway

Darn that Barnes & Noble. So, I was taking a leisurely stroll. Again. And I saw that apparently Melissa de la Cruz must have had a signing at my local bookstore. I had no idea or I would have gone and gotten something for myself. Witches of East End is the only book that I do not have signed by the author. (I only keep personally signed books.)

And I cannot walk by a stack of autographed books without buying one or two. It was a struggle not to pick up the entire set of the Blue Bloods series. But I was strong enough, just barely, to do it.

I really have to seek help for my book addiction. But for now, I want to share the bookish love. I hope for a giveaway-free August, and maybe even a reduced book buy month. Still hoping.

But for now I have these two lovely copies to give away here on the blog.

    What’s up for grabs?

A signed copy of Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz plus random signed and unsigned swag.

    The Deets:

    * There will be TWO WINNERS.

    * Only one entry per person.

    * Must be 18 or older to enter. As this is the author’s adult series there is a minimum age requirement.

    * Contest is International where allowed by law.

    * Giveaway ends SaturdayFriday, July 15th at 11:59 p.m.

    * Winners will be chosen by Random.org and announced on the blog on SundaySaturday, July 16th.

    * Winners will have 48 hours after notification to respond.

*Prize will be sent via U.S. mail.

There is no requirement to follow, tweet or “like,” but following the blog is always appreciated.

UPDATE: Clearly I didn’t realize that Friday was the 15th and not Saturday. Contest will still end on the 15th, which is in reality FRIDAY. Sorry about that!

To enter, fill out the form below:

Thank you to everyone who has entered the Witches of East End signed giveaway. The contest is now closed. I will be running the names through Random shortly and announcing them here on the blog. As some of you may have heard, I managed to get another signed copy, so I’ll be choosing three winners.

    Please stay tuned…

Random has spoken and the winners are…

Congratulations Raychelle, Badass Bookie and Ashley B! You are the three winners of the signed Witches of East End giveaway. I will be contacting you all by email and you will have 48 hours to respond with your details or I will have to choose another winner.

Book Watch: Releasing This Week #25

Below are the YA books coming out this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of June 21st-June 27th that I have pre-ordered.

    ***

A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young will be released in the U.S. on June 21, 2011 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available for pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble in both formats.

Published by Balzer + Bray, the print edition is 272 pages.

I was not able to get my hands on an early copy of this book, so my first peek will be when my eBook downloads on Monday at Midnight, but from the description this is a book I can’t wait to read. Battling destiny and fighting to stay with the ones you love sounds like the kind of book I will immediately connect with.

Even though I haven’t read any reviews, there was a ton of buzz about this book over the past few months and all of it has been amazing. Being one of the Forgotten does not sound like an easy destiny to live up to for Charlotte and I hope there is a happy ending for her in this book. And I really want to read this in the next week or two so I can find out.

Book trailer for A Need So Beautiful:

Vicious Little Darlings by Katherine Easer will be released in the U.S. on June 21, 2011 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is available to pre-order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Bloomsbury USA Childrens, the print edition is 320 pages.

Vicious Little Darlings is one of the books that can be chosen for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge hosted by Kristi at TheStorySiren.com.

Even though I have an early copy of this book, I can’t wait for the eBook to download. As I won’t have read this book by release date I’m not sure whether I’ll read the final version or the ARC, but it is on my pile this week.

The title of this book is what hooked me. It kind of says it all. I just wish I had the chance to read it sooner. But I’m dying to find out just what bad things Sarah’s new roommates are up to that make things turn deadly.

Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz will be released in the U.S. on June 21, 2011 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available online to pre-order at Amazon and Barnes & Noble in both formats.

Published by Hyperion, the print edition is 288 pages.

I have loved this cover since the moment I saw it. It’s gorgeous. And I love the author’s young adult series so I can’t wait until I get my copy of her debut adult novel. I lost an auction bid to win an early copy of this book so I’ve been waiting not-so-patiently for a chance to read it.

I had a chance to meet one of the characters in the author’s novella, Bloody Valentine, and I’m excited to learn more about her and the other witches. The description also promises a few cameos from some of the characters from Blue Bloods and I can’t wait to see who appears in this story.

It also says there will be a battle of good and evil, which sounds sort of epic, so I can’t wait to see which side wins in the end.

Book trailer for Witches of East End:

Haunting Violet by Alyxandra Harvey will be released in the U.S. on June 21, 2011 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is available online in both formats for pre-order at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Walker Childrens, the print edition is 352 pages.

I have an early copy of Haunting Violet, but it’s the UK edition. I’m not sure if there are any differences between that version and the one for the U.S. but I’m looking forward to receiving the finished copy to find out. I’ve actually read most of the ARC already, but I had pre-ordered this book long ago and want the final version for my collection.

The one thing I didn’t know until the moment I started reading it on Saturday was that it does not take place in the present. I had no idea from the description on the back cover or on Goodreads that it took place in Victorian England.

I thought the description sounded like a great read – a girl who doesn’t believe in ghosts, whose mother is a fraudulent medium, is suddenly being haunted by them. But I was a bit wary once I heard it wasn’t a modern story.

I’m not a huge fan of Victorian novels, but so far it has been a delightful read and is making me rethink my stance on Victorian novels. It is not stuffy or boring at all! And the characters are just as entertaining as those in the author’s Drake Chronicles.

Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz will be released in the U.S. on June 21, 2011 in paperback format and on July 1, 2011 in eBook format. It is currently available to pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble in both formats.

Published by Harlequin TEEN, the print edition is 352 pages.

Spellbound is one of the books that can be chosen for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge hosted by Kristi at TheStorySiren.com.

I have an eARC of Spellbound and I plan on reading it this week, but I knew from the moment I read the description that I’d want to own this, so I pre-ordered a finished copy of the eBook. (Of course that won’t be available until July 1st, so I’ll be reading the eARC, because I do not want to have to wait.)

I love the fact that this book takes place in New York City set among the snooty Upper East Side prep school kids. I’ve read quite a few books where they just get it wrong, and I can’t wait to see how the author creates her world.

I’m curious as to why Emma is so fixated on Brendan Salinger, aside from his looks and money. And I’m dying to find out why the street lights are going out when she walks by. (This is an odd phenomenon that used to happen to me in NYC all the time, so I can’t wait to find out why it’s happening to Emma.)

And I always love stories that involve past lives. They’re just so cool, which makes me even more excited to read this author’s debut novel.

Dead Rules by Randy Russell will be released in the U.S. on June 21, 2011 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available online to pre-order in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 384 pages.

Dead Rules is one of the books that can be chosen for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge hosted by Kristi at TheStorySiren.com.

Okay, I can’t wait to get the finished copy of this book. I have this on pre-order in eBook format, but I think I’ll also be picking up a finished print copy for my collection just because I love this cover. I’ve already have the ARC which I devoured in one sitting on Friday, but I will be passing that on to another blogger as I never keep ARCs.

I think it is such a fabulous idea to give rules out to the dead. And Jana is one character that does not like to play by the rules, so that makes this story even more entertaining.

But there is just so much to like about Dead School, even with its rules, especially yummy Mars Dreamcote. And I’ve never read a story with a dead girl who is nearly as determined as Jana.

This week I have six books on pre-order. My wallet is super happy, though my TBR pile isn’t – I read only one of the books. And next week will be so much worse. I am really, really hoping that my vacation days will allow me to get caught up on some of those must reads!

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
