    Best Book Boyfriends of 2015

I’ve had such an eclectic reading year that I don’t have nearly as many book boyfriends as I’ve had in the past. Many of the books I’ve read and loved didn’t even have romance as part of the storyline. And I also know that due to the number of books I have read and loved this year I am forgetting a few of them – so sorry my lovely fic boys! But I did not prep this post well in advance, as I’d hoped to, and so I am certain I’m forgetting some of my favorites.

I’m also losing a few due to the fact that they have to be from books read and released this year.

    Anyway… here they are.

BEST BOOKS I’VE READ IN 2015

I’ve read so many seriously amazing books this year, that picking just ten was a dreadfully impossible task. I’m just glad I read THE STARS NEVER RISE by Rachel Vincent in 2014 or it would have made narrowing down my list that much more horrendous. It also didn’t help that I read more books this year than last, that I’ve been in an eclectic reading mood, and that there were just so many incredible books written.

#1 MENAGERIE by Rachel Vincent – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s unique, it’s hard-hitting, the writing is beautiful, the story is phenomenal, the series potential has me desperate for the next installment.

#2 DEAD OF WINTER by Kresley Cole – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because this series is an all-time favorite, because the ending is abso-freaking-lutely killer, because it’s dark and gorgeous and the waiting is exquisite torture.

#3 SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because the story is epic, the world-building incredible, the writing gorgeous, the detail impeccable.

#4 TEN THOUSAND SKIES ABOVE YOU by Claudia Gray – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because the writing is stunning, the world expansive and fascinating, the series riveting.

#5 BRUTAL YOUTH by Anthony Breznican – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s dark and gritty and edgy and shocking and disturbing, the writing brilliant, the story unforgettable.

#6 SCHISM by Jenna Black – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s complex and interesting and fascinating. The world is chilling and still amazing. The characters sympathetic and scary. The story compelling.

#7 AN EMBER IN THE ASHES by Sabaa Tahir – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s thrilling and epic and gripping and unputdownable. The dual POV makes it edge-of-your-seat exciting.

#8 THE ROSE SOCIETY by Marie Lu – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s so wicked and dark and wildly entertaining. It’s about villains. Nothing more needs to be said.

#9 ROOK by Sharon Cameron – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s action-packed, nerve-wracking, suspenseful. There are twists and turns. There’s romance, betrayal and heartbreak. What’s not to love?

#10 SALT & STONE by Victoria Scott – AMAZON | BARNES & NOBLE | GOODREADS

Why? Because it’s awesome and amazing and adorable and nail-biting. The characters are ones you can’t help but love, love, love. Though the possibility that there might not be a next book in the series is heartbreaking.

    Honorable Mentions

I really wanted to limit honorable mentions to just five, but I couldn’t do it. Limiting it to 15 was hard enough as it was.

So those are my favorite reads for 2015. What are yours?

THE WONDROUS AND THE WICKED Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway

    wonderousandwicked

I am super excited to be today’s stop on THE WONDROUS AND THE WICKED Blog Tour. I have been a huge fan of this series from the moment I first learned of its existence. And while I am sad to see it end, I don’t think the author could have done a more amazing job. I could not set this one down. It was insane in all the best ways. And, yes, there were tears. But I won’t say why. Lips are sealed. No spoilers here.

    Anyway…

If you’d like to know a little bit more about what I think, my review is below. There’s also an awesome giveaway as part of this tour – so be sure to check it out. And if you’d like to read a few guest posts, interviews and other reviews, the tour schedule – with direct links – is at the bottom of the post.

    Description…

For fans of Lauren Kate’s Fallen series comes the exciting conclusion to the trilogy that includes The Beautiful and the Cursed and The Lovely and the Lost. The Waverly sisters must save themselves before all is lost.

Since the Waverlys arrived in Paris, the streets have grown more fearsome by the day. As Ingrid learns to master her lectrux gift, she must watch Axia’s power grow strong enough to extend beyond her Underneath hive. By all indications, the fallen angel’s Harvest is near-and the timing couldn’t be worse.

Targeted by vengeful gargoyles, Gabby has been exiled to London for her own protection. Meanwhile, the gargoyle castes are in disarray, divided between those who want Luc to lead them and those who resent him and his fondness for humans. The Alliance is crumbling from the inside as well, its members turning against one another, and possibly against the Waverlys, too.

Axia has promised that the world will burn. And now, unable to trust the Alliance, separated from Luc, Gabby, and her twin, Grayson, Ingrid is left to face the demon uprising alone.

Note: This review is based on an eARC received from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest thoughts about the book.

    The Review

Page Morgan delivers an epic, action-packed and utterly riveting conclusion to her series with THE WONDROUS AND THE WICKED. It’s a story filled with nail-biting suspense, one that will keep readers on edge as they await Ingrid’s, Luc’s, Vander’s, Gabby’s, Nolan’s, Grayson’s and Marco’s fates, and one that builds toward a dramatic and incredibly climactic showdown that offers no guarantee of a victory for those characters readers have come to know and love.

The author invites readers back into her world of the Dispossessed with an opening chapter that will leave them with no doubt that the world has gotten more dangerous, especially for Ingrid and Gabby Waverly, the threats have become deadlier, and the need for vengeance could quickly escalate to a war between the Alliance and the Dispossessed. Through each character’s point of view, she reacquaints readers with just where things left off in the previous book, what everyone is up to now, and just how they feel about their current situation.

She ensnares with the promise of a confrontation with Axia, the hope for a happy ending for each of the Waverlys, and the certainty of a resolution to the Ingrid-Vander-Luc love triangle. She keeps readers captivated with gorgeous writing that paints a vivid picture of the incredibly imaginative world she created, characters who they’re already invested in and are sure to become even more so in, electrifying and nerve-wracking plot developments, and moments that will make them hold their breath, swoon, sob, and cheer.

With Gabby hiding out in London for her own safety, Luc keeping his distance until things settle down, and Grayson missing in action, Ingrid has only Vander to keep her company and Marco to keep her safe, and she is anxious to do something other than sit around and wait for things to change. She just never imagined an attempt on her life would be the catalyst. And she hadn’t really expected the Alliance to be behind it.

She also hadn’t realized just how ill-prepared she was to defend herself against the growing threats. Or how much danger she was really in. Or how much she would miss her connection with Luc and having him as her protector.

THE WONDROUS AND THE WICKED returns readers to this amazing and wonderful and fascinating and deadly world of gargoyles, angels and demons, hunters and protectors, dusters, seers and humans, set in turn of the twentieth century Paris, one last time. It delivers long-awaited answers, ties up loose ends, and brings this series to an ending that will more than satisfy.

And it takes readers on one heck of an exciting, tension-filled, heartbreaking ride in this must-devour series-ending story in an extraordinary series that is not to be missed.

    About Page Morgan

    Page

Page Morgan is the author of The Beautiful & The Cursed, a young adult novel about two sisters who, on their mission to find their missing brother, discover a veiled world of gargoyles and demons in the city of Paris, its sequel, The Lovely and the Lost, and the upcoming third book in the series, The Wondrous and the Wicked. She became intrigued by gargoyles when she came across an old, black-and-white photograph of a Notre Dame gargoyle keeping watch over the city of Paris. Right away, she knew she had to tell that gargoyle’s story.

She lives in New England with her husband and their three children, along with an English Pointer puppy, an arrogant cat, two surprisingly cuddly bearded dragons, and a brood of chickens.

    Description…

After a bizarre accident, Ingrid Waverly is forced to leave London with her mother and younger sister, Gabby, trading a world full of fancy dresses and society events for the unfamiliar city of Paris.

In Paris there are no grand balls or glittering parties, and, disturbingly, the house Ingrid’s twin brother, Grayson, found for them isn’t a house at all. It’s an abandoned abbey, its roof lined with stone gargoyles that could almost be mistaken for living, breathing creatures.

    And Grayson has gone missing.

No one seems to know of his whereabouts but Luc, a devastatingly handsome servant at their new home.

Ingrid is sure her twin isn’t dead—she can feel it deep in her soul—but she knows he’s in grave danger. It will be up to her and Gabby to navigate the twisted path to Grayson, a path that will lead Ingrid on a discovery of dark secrets and otherworldly truths. And she’ll learn that once they are uncovered, they can never again be buried.

The sequel to The Beautiful and the Cursed…

Ingrid and Gabby Waverly moved to France expecting a quiet reprieve from London gossip, but the truth they face in their new home has a sharper—and deadlier—sting.

Paris is plagued by an underworld of demons and gargoyles who all seem to want something from the Waverly girls. Saving Ingrid’s twin, Grayson, from the fallen angel Axia nearly killed them. And they’re still being hunted—only this time, demons aren’t their only predators.

Ingrid’s blood is special: it bestows the power to command gargoyles. It’s an ability no other human has, and in the wrong hands, it could be used to send her cursed guardian, Luc, and his fellow Dispossessed to extinction. There are those who will do anything to get Ingrid’s blood—and they see no value in human life.

The Alliance has vowed to protect the Waverlys, and a new gargoyle has been assigned to guard their abbey home alongside Luc. But no one can watch over Ingrid, Gabby, and Grayson all the time, which means the three must learn to fight for themselves.

Because darkness now follows the Waverlys. And sometimes darkness comes in the form you trust most.
