IF I SHOULD DIE Blog Tour: Excerpt + Giveaway

I am so excited to be a part of this tour for IF I SHOULD DIE by Amy Plum, organized by the very lovely Mundie Moms. I fell madly in love with the characters and this series when I first met them in DIE FOR ME back in May 2011. Yes, DIE FOR ME was one of those books that I gave my off-the-menu six-star rating I loved it that much.

I had every intention of reading UNTIL I DIE the moment it released, but when I heard that the ending was killer I decided to wait until closer to the third book’s release before I dove in. Because I did not want to have to suffer the long wait for IF I SHOULD DIE. Not when….

No… I won’t reveal what happened at the end of UNTIL I DIE. If you haven’t yet read it and you still really want to know, you can get more than a hint from reading the description below for IF I SHOULD DIE.

And yes, I am soooo glad I waited. Because I just finished reading UNTIL I DIE and having to wait until May 7th for IF I SHOULD DIE‘s release is torturous enough. Waiting just the one week to find out what happens and how this series ends is going to be agony, I cannot imagine how those readers who finished UNTIL I DIE last year survived.

Of course I am heartbroken that this series is ending. I would have loved it to go on longer than a trilogy. Even with DIE FOR HER, a novella about Jules, to keep me entertained it will not be enough.

Once again I’ve rambled on and on about a book and series I adore in a post that shouldn’t be about my thoughts. I just can’t seem to help myself. I love the Revenants. I love Kate and Vincent and Jules. I love the Parisian setting… and I’m super curious to find out just what happens with Kate and Jules in New York in IF I SHOULD DIE.

For my stop on today’s tour I have a very short excerpt, which follows immediately below, that if you spend a little too much time thinking about, your imagination will run wild. There is also some information about the book, series and author and places to find them all online.

This tour also includes an awesome giveaway, which follows just a bit further down in this post. And yes it is international.

And if you have managed to read this far into my long intro, I am offering up for giveaway, to one commentator, one of the books in the Revenants series which I’ll order from Amazon or The Book Depository. Just leave a comment with which of the books you’d like to win and I’ll throw the names into Random on May 7th and announce the winner in the comments to this post.

Oh and one last thing… if you haven’t yet had the chance to meet Vincent, last year the author provided a character profile of her swoon-worthy character for a blog tour I was on. If you’d like to check that him out, it’s here.

    The Excerpt

“Wanna take a walk?” Jules said, pushing himself up off the couch and walking toward me. “It’s my first time in New York, and if I don’t pass out from blood loss, I’d like to see a little bit. Would you do me the honor of being my tour guide?”

    “But I shouldn’t leave….,” I began.

He took my hand and pulled me toward the door.

    If I Should Die
If I Should Die (Revenants #3) by Amy Plum

    Publisher: HarperTeen
    Release Date: May 7, 2013
    Series: Revenants

    About the Book

I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.

Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France’s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.

It shouldn’t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he’s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.

After what we’ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying—to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others—so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

    About the Author

Amy Plum is author of the International Bestsellers DIE FOR ME (an Indie Next List pick, Romance Times top pick, and recipient of a starred review from School Library Journal), UNTIL I DIE, and digital novella DIE FOR HER. The final book in the series, IF I SHOULD DIE, will be released in May 2013.

After being raised in Birmingham, Alabama, in a rather restrictive environment, AMY PLUM escaped to Chicago to an even more restrictive environment at a university that expelled people for dancing. (And where she was called to the dean’s office for “wearing too much black”.) After all of that restrictiveness, she was forced to run far far away, specifically to Paris, France, where she only wore black and danced all she wanted.

After five years in Paris, she ventured to London, where she got an M.A. in Medieval Art History, specializing in Early Sienese Painting (1260-1348) mainly because it promised almost no hope of finding a paying job afterward.

Amy managed to find work in the world of art and antiques in New York. But after almost a decade of high-pressure lifestyle in the Big Apple, she swapped her American city for a French village of 1300 inhabitants.

After signing with HarperCollins for the DIE FOR ME series, Amy left her job as an English professor at Tours University to write full-time. She now lives in Paris with her two kids and big red dog Ella.

Pivot Point Blog Tour: Excerpt + Giveaway

When I was invited to be a part of the PIVOT POINT Blog Tour hosted by Mundie Moms I was totally stoked. And of course I said yes. Because PIVOT POINT is one of my most anticipated reads.

And even though I haven’t yet read it, release date is right around the corner and I will be reading it when it releases next week. Unless I manage to wrangle a copy just a few days before release date. Because this would totally be a D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) book.

I’ve already spotlighted it for my Book Watch post just the other week and now I only have a week left to count down until I’ll be able to discover for myself just how awesome this book is. And judging by the short excerpt I have to share with my post, PIVOT POINT is going to be amazing.

It’s definitely a “me” book with characters I just know I’m going to love.

In addition to the excerpt, I have all sorts of information about the book and author, below, so that you can decide for yourself if PIVOT POINT is a book you’ll want to move to the top of your TBR pile when it releases.

I also have a shared giveaway in which two copies of PIVOT POINT are up for grabs – US only – so be sure to check it out below.

    About the Book

    Title: PIVOT POINT
    Author: Kasie West
    Publisher: HarperTeen
    Pages: 352
    Release Date: February 12, 2013
    Formats: Hardcover, eBook

Knowing the outcome doesn’t always make a choice easier . . .Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with—her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not.

In one potential future, Addie is adjusting to life outside the Compound as the new girl in a Norm high school where she meets Trevor, a cute, sensitive artist who understands her. In the other path, Addie is being pursued by the hottest guy in school—but she never wanted to be a quarterback’s girlfriend. When Addie’s father is asked to consult on a murder in the Compound, she’s unwittingly drawn into a dangerous game that threatens everything she holds dear. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality she’s willing to live through . . . and who she can’t live without.

“Kasie West is a master of suspense. The unique structure–seeing two alternate realities playing out at once–leaves you pleading with the characters, don’t answer that phone, don’t go to that house, don’t talk to that person. PIVOT POINT is at once tense and romantic, challenging and engaging. It’s a truly remarkable debut.”

    (Robison Wells, Author of VARIANT)

“West’s debut is an expertly plotted, delightfully clever story. Addie’s dual realities pull the reader along to a startling—and devastatingly unavoidable—finale. I can’t wait for the next book!”

(Kiersten White, New York Times Bestselling Author of PARANORMALCY)

“With superb storytelling, a masterful blend of paranormal and normal, a helping of wit and humor, and a mouth-watering romance, PIVOT POINT is one of the most delicious books I’ve read.”

    (Elana Johnson, Author of POSSESSION)

He readjusts his position on the floor, but it doesn’t seem to make him any more comfortable. “I never did give you that zombie quiz on Friday.”

“That’s because you were too busy driving strangers to my house.”

He groans. “I thought you might’ve been mad about that. Sorry.”

“Yeah, well, you’ve known me for such a long time. You should be able to read my looks by now. Glaring at you in the rearview mirror, like this, means: ‘You will die if you take people to my house. Come up with an alternate solution.'” I give him an example of the look.

“Good to know. I’ll start a list.”
