    TarotTourGraphic

But first, here’s some information about The Tarot, The World Card, and how it connects with the series.

    Divider

    The Reading

Before I give my reading of the past, present and future of The Raven Cycle, here’s some information about the Tarot:

The tarot is a divination system that uses a deck of cards to gain insight. Most decks are comprised of 78 cards divided into the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana, with each card being symbolic of an energy or spiritual truth. The Major Arcana are known as the “trump cards” because they impart messages of greater weight and significance than the Minor Arcana.

    The_World

    TheWorld

The World is card number 21 and represents completion, integration and accomplishment.

Upright, the World represents completion. However when the card is reversed, it represents lack of completion, lack of closure. (Source)

The World is the final gateway…. The cycle is complete…. All the lessons learned have been put to use. All the tasks accomplished have born fruit and brought prosperity. Every cause has had its effects and all of the diverse threads of effects have been woven into a tapestry of your life as you have lived it…. A new beginning is found in the end, the pieces are in place for a new journey to start, and after that one is completed, another will surely commence…. The cycle of the Major Arcana begins where it ends and ends where it begins; start and finish are no longer the ends of straight line, but coincident points on the circumference of a circle that encapsulates your life. The present is now. The future is now. Eternity is now. (Source)

    Past

Only parts of the journey have come full circle for Blue and the Raven Boys in the past. The search for Glendower is still very much underway. The visions they had in Cabeswater have yet to be fulfilled. A complete understanding of how time moves, folds, circles, connects eludes them. Neeve and Maura’s whereabouts are still unknown. Blue and Gansey’s interaction on the Corpse Road has yet to be averted. Blue’s maybe-potential ability is not yet realized. On these, and other, matters the World card has been reversed.

But not all is unfulfilled. The card has been dealt upright. There has been integration as well as accomplishment. Blue’s addition to the group that was Gansey, Ronan, Adam and Noah set things in motion. Ronan was able to find answers about his father’s life and death, about his mother, about the Barns, about his dreams, and about who he is and what he is capable of. And he was able to save the Pig – no small feat. The truth about Noah was uncovered and he was able to return to the group and stay present often, thanks to Blue. Adam’s sacrifice was both an end and a beginning, one that gave him a purpose and a stronger connection with Cabeswater but forever changed him. The repercussions of that sacrifice are still unclear.

    Present

The draw is the same. In the present, the World card has shown itself both upright and in reverse. The quest for Glendower has not yet reached its conclusion. The price of Adam’s sacrifice has not yet been paid. Blue’s “curse” has yet to be proven true or false. And Gansey’s fate has yet to be determined.

But Adam and Ronan, working together, completed the dangerous task they set out to accomplish. A sleeper – or possibly two – was awoken. A power was realized. The missing are no longer missing. Blue, Adam and Ronan are all becoming more aware of their roles.

And while the journey has not yet come to an end for Blue and her Raven Boys, it has for one of the residents of 300 Fox Way.

    Future

What does the World card reveal about the future of The Raven Cycle? That the quest will come to an end and Gansey’s years-long efforts will be fruitful. Ronan’s dreams will come true. Adam will have done what he needed to in order to fulfill what was required by his sacrifice. Blue will finally be satisfied with the powers she has. And they will all come together to find a solution for Noah.

But just because things will have come full cycle does not mean the ending will be a happy one for all. There is still the matter of the prediction that Blue Sargent will kill her true love. And the events that lead to the meeting on the Corpse Road. The World card speaks of achievement and fulfillment. But it also speaks of endings and beginnings.

Accomplishment does not always guarantee happiness. So we’ll just have to wait and see how the future unfolds – if predictions come true, if dreams resemble nightmares, if a quest completed was everything it promised to be.

    Maggie_Stiefvater

New York Times bestselling author of The Shiver Trilogy, The Raven Cycle, and The Scorpio Races. Artist. Driver of things with wheels. Avid reader.

All of Maggie Stiefvater’s life decisions have been based around her inability to be gainfully employed. Talking to yourself, staring into space, and coming to work in your pajamas are frowned upon when you’re a waitress, calligraphy instructor, or technical editor (all of which she’s tried), but are highly prized traits in novelists and artists. She’s made her living as one or the other since she was 22. She now lives an eccentric life in the middle of nowhere, Virginia with her charmingly straight-laced husband, two kids, two neurotic dogs, and a 1973 Camaro named Loki.

    My Reading Pile #175

    MyReadingPile

I wasn’t expecting anything in the mail this week. Well not until I got a DM mentioning that a certain ARC I’ve been dying to read was heading my way. And it arrived. And I’m totally stoked.

    MRP175

Thanks to Jaime of Two Chicks on Books and her very amazing mom, I received an ARC of TALON by Julie Kagawa. I am dying to read this book by the always awesome author and while I’m not officially going to be adding it to the pile this week since it doesn’t release until the end of October I might not be able to wait.

Only time will tell. *slaps hand while reaching for ARC*

TALON was the only physical ARC I received in the mail, but it’s not the only ARC I received this week. I got approved for three eARCs I’d requested on NetGalley that I’m so excited to read.

Courtesy of the Harlequin Teen via NetGalley

    THE AFTERMATH by Jen Alexander

This book sounds amazing and I would love to dive into it right now. Ever since I first read the description I was hoping it would be available for an early review. I can’t wait to meet Claudia and Declan and find out more about this live-action game that has “punishing tests of endurance and psychological challenge.” And as it releases at the end of next month, I am so excited I’ll be able to add this to the pile in a week or two.

Courtesy of Bloomsbury Childrens via NetGalley

WHISPER THE DEAD (The Lovegrove Legacy #2) by Alyxandra Harvey

I loved the first book in this series. I love Alyxandra Harvey’s writing. I can’t wait to be able to continue on without having to wait for its release this October. I haven’t taken a peek at the description on Goodreads because I don’t want to pique my curiosity just yet. As I won’t be able to add this to the pile until later in August, I don’t want to torment myself with any teasers it might give about the next cousin’s story.

Courtesy of Scholastic Press via NetGalley

SINNER (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #3.5) by Maggie Stiefvater

I was totally surprised to have been approved for this title since I’d put in the request long ago and actually have the finished copy on my Kindle. But the fact that I got the approval gives me the perfect excuse to sneak it onto the pile this week. I can’t wait to read Cole’s story. I grew to love him as much, if not more, than Sam. I’m just so glad that he’s around to have a story to tell. Especially after what I thought was going to happen in FOREVER.

Well, that’s all that I received, but there is no way I’m going to complain about getting four amazing books for review. I’m just thrilled that I’ll be able to move one of those onto the pile this week. And so…

Here are the books I have in my reading pile this week.

    {July 20, 2014 – July 26, 2014}

    Sinner

    Add to Goodreads

First up on the pile is SINNER by Maggie Stiefvater. While I own a copy, I did receive an eARC from Scholastic for review. Which, as I mentioned above, makes it the perfect excuse to add it to the pile this week.

I’ve loved this series by the author since long before I became a blogger. I fell in love with the haunting quality of it and the gorgeous writing. I fell in love with its characters. And by the series’ end I fell in love with Cole St. Clair.

So I can’t wait to see what’s been happening with him. I can’t wait to find out if Cole and Isabel get a happy ending. I can’t wait to get back to this world which I have really missed these past few years. And I will definitely be doing so on Monday.

    The Description…

A standalone companion book to the internationally bestselling Shiver Trilogy.

Sinner follows Cole St. Clair, a pivotal character from the #1 New York Times bestselling Shiver Trilogy.

Everybody thinks they know Cole’s story. Stardom. Addiction. Downfall. Disappearance. But only a few people know Cole’s darkest secret — his ability to shift into a wolf. One of these people is Isabel. At one point, they may have even loved each other. But that feels like a lifetime ago. Now Cole is back. Back in the spotlight. Back in the danger zone. Back in Isabel’s life. Can this sinner be saved?

    Ghost House

    Add to Goodreads

Next up on the pile is GHOST HOUSE by Alexandra Adornetto. I had grabbed an eARC a few weeks back from Harlequin Teen via NetGalley and I have been anxious to read it. Well, now that I found out I’ll be on the tour and would like to do a character interview, it’s the perfect excuse to read it right now.

I can’t wait to meet Chloe and Alex. I can’t wait to see just how she plans on using her abilities to keep Isobel away. I can’t wait to find out if she succeeds or if the “hungry dead” are able to “claim her for their own.”

This book sounds so awesome and if it’s as beautiful and powerful as the description promises I just know I’m going to fall in love. And if all goes as planned I’ll be sitting down to read this on Wednesday night.

    The Description…

From the New York Times bestselling author of Halo comes the start of a beautiful and powerful new series.

After the loss of her mother, Chloe Kennedy starts seeing the ghosts that haunted her as a young girl again. Spending time at her grandmother’s country estate in the south of England is her chance to get away from her grief and the spirits that haunt her. Until she meets a mysterious stranger…

Alexander Reade is 157 years dead, with secrets darker than the lake surrounding Grange Hall and a lifelike presence that draws Chloe more strongly than any ghost before. But the bond between them awakens the vengeful spirit of Alexander’s past love, Isobel. And she will stop at nothing to destroy anyone who threatens to take him from her.

To stop Isobel, Chloe must push her developing abilities to their most dangerous limits, even if it means losing Alex forever… and giving the hungry dead a chance to claim her for their own.

    Wishful Thinking Reads

My wishful thinking read this week is, of course, TALON by Julie Kagawa. I actually have not read the description for this book and have not the first clue what it’s about. All I know is that it’s by Julie Kagawa and that it’s going to be awesome. And I’d love to drop everything and read it, but I have five books I need to read before I can should think about doing so. So for now, reading it is merely just a wish.

    Those Left Behind

I am creating this post a day early as I know I won’t have time on Friday night to work on it. So I’m not entirely sure I’m going to have left any books behind. I don’t think I will.

While I didn’t get to start on this week’s reads until late Wednesday night, due to the fact that I had to write an unexpected review for a tour in which my post was MIA, and the fact that I had to first read WAYFARING STRANGER from the previous week’s pile, I am pretty sure I’ll have finished both books by the time this posts.

I am already half way through DARK SKYE and I know I’ll be finished with it tonight (Thursday) and will immediately start reading FORECAST which should be a super quick, one-sit-read. I’ll just have to take some time on Sunday to write both reviews.

And while I still haven’t gotten the chance to rewrite my review for #scandal or finish writing my review for BOOMERANG, I am hopeful that I’ll be writing one of them immediately upon finishing this post. We shall see.

But I did write two reviews so far this week – EARTHQUAKE and WAYFARING STRANGER. And I managed to be present on the blog every day this week. I just wish I hadn’t been so exhausted all week due to the insanity that was last Sunday.

It wasn’t a total bust. But I wish I’d been a little more productive. Maybe next week.

    NetGalley Pile Adds & Finds

I’ve been randomly stalking NetGalley this week, but didn’t see too many new adds. I’m not sure how I tracked down THE AFTERMATH as I don’t think it was listed among the YA titles. But I’m so glad I did find it.

And while I won’t be requesting any of this week’s titles, aside from the ones I already have, there are a few that look pretty interesting.

    Here are this week’s finds…

THE AFTERMATH by Jen Alexander (Harlequin Teen, Aug 26 2014)

SKINK NO SURRENDER by Carl Hiaasen (Orion Publishing Group, Sep 11 2014)

THE RAPUNZEL DILEMMA by Jennifer Kloester (Penguin Books Australia, Aug 27 2014) **Australian Reviewers Preferred**

I AM NUMBER FOUR: THE LOST FILES by Pittacus Lore (Penguin Books Australia, Aug 27 2014) **Australian Reviewers Preferred**

THE WINTER PEOPLE by Rebekah L. Purdy (Entangled Publishing LLC, Sep 2 2014)

I don’t know how well I’ll be keeping to this week’s planned reads as I really, really want to read TALON. And as I definitely plan on writing reviews for last week’s reads it may take awhile before I can actually pick up the two books on the pile this week. But I’m hopeful.

I have a couple of review books to read next week and a book that was recommended to me as a must read, so I need to keep on schedule.

Real life wasn’t as hectic this week, but I was playing catch up from last week and dealing with a couple of near sleepless nights. So I wasn’t as productive as I might have been. And while things might not have posted by midnight every night, at least I wasn’t MIA.

And I plan on being around all of next week, too.

    Anyway…

I hope you’re enjoying your summer and if you’re taking a little vacation I hope it’s awesome. And I hope that you have a few interesting books to keep you company. If you’d like to share what they are, leave a comment as I’d love to know.

    As ever… Happy reading!

Book Watch: Releasing This Week #183

    BWRTWIcy

Below are the (mostly) YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of July 1st-July 7th that I have pre-ordered.

    Sinner

    AddtoGRicy

SINNER by Maggie Stiefvater will be released in the U.S. on July 1, 2014 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Scholastic Press, the print edition is 368 pages.

SINNER is standalone companion novel to Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver Trilogy.

I cannot wait for SINNER to be released and for my copy to download to my Kindle. I LOVED this series by the author and one of my most favorite characters was Cole St. Clair.

I am so excited to see what’s been happening with him. I was so sure, when reading the final book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, that his story had come to an end. Especially with the way things seemed to be going. Of course they didn’t. Thankfully. But I’m even more excited that his story is continuing.

I can’t wait to find out why he’s in danger. I can’t wait to see what happens with Isabel. Heck… I can’t wait to read this and spend just a few more hours with Cole, in this world, which I have loved for such a long time. And I don’t think it can be avoided. I think I’m going to have to sneak this one on the pile this week.

    Description…

    On the Fence

    AddtoGRicy

ON THE FENCE by Kasie West will be released in the U.S. on July 1, 2014 in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 304 pages.

I am super excited for the release of ON THE FENCE by Kasie West. I got the chance to read this early and I took full advantage of that opportunity. Of course it’s now been ages since I read it, but I remember it and I remember falling in love with this story. It was sweet and romantic and I adored Charlie and Braden.

I loved their late night chats by the fence. I loved how she started to fall in love with him. I loved how… okay, so I’m not going to keep talking about what I loved because I will likely reveal what secrets were shared and what happened in the end. But I just have to add that it was an engaging and heartwarming story.

And while I may not be reading it again this week, I’m so thrilled to be able to finally get the finished copy for my collection because I definitely will be reading it again some day soon. Kasie West is an amazing writer, I’ve loved everything she’s written, and I can’t wait for everyone to get the chance to read this book and see just how awesome it is.

    Description…

    She’s a tomboy. He’s the boy next door…

Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn’t know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she’s got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she’s falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.

Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.

    Parting words…

Next week is insane. There are a million books releasing on July 8th. So I’m so glad that there aren’t too many books coming out this week that are on my radar. Though it’s always possible I missed a few, like I did last week.

I only have two books – and two eBook novellas – pre-ordered that I know of. But there could be one or two more. And I will be adding THE VANISHING SEASON by Jodi Lynn Anderson to the collection as it sounds so awesome, and most likely Rachel Carter’s FIND ME WHERE THE WATER ENDS, as I own the first two books in that series.

There are a few others that look really good, but as I am trying to hold to a budget for the next couple of months, I’m going to wait as long as possible before I click to buy.

Anyway… I hope that I didn’t miss any new releases. I hope that if you are awaiting one of this week’s releases it will be in your bookish hands and you won’t have to wait much longer to dive in. I hope that the books you have on your radar are every bit as amazing as you hoped they’d be.

And if it is one of your books that is releasing this week, happy book birthday to you!

    DividerIcy

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!

Published by Balzer + Bray, the print edition is 480 pages.

I am so excited for the release of THE BURNING SKY this week. I have it pre-ordered for my Kindle but this cover is way too gorgeous not to also buy a print copy. Especially since this book was incredible. And I’m so lucky that I got the chance to read it early thanks to the publisher.

As I will be on the tour on Tuesday and I’m hoping to post a review then too, I don’t want to talk too much about this amazing book. And as I have read it, I obviously can’t guess about what the description hints at.

But I will just say that I cannot believe it says there are 480 pages as the book was such a quick read. I loved getting to meet Iolanthe and Titus. I loved the magical and fairytale elements that were woven into this story. I loved that from moment one I was always on edge about what would happen to Iolanthe and Titus. And I wish the second book in this series were available right now because waiting is most definitely going to suck.

    Frozen

    addtogoodreads

FROZEN by Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston will be released in the U.S. on Spetember 17, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Putnam Juvenile, the print edition is 336 pages.

FROZEN is the first book in the authors’ Heart of Dread series. No information is yet available on future books in the series.

    Dots_Divider

I love Melissa de la Cruz’s writing and I am totally stoked that FROZEN is releasing this week and I’ll finally get to read it when it downloads to my Kindle on Monday Midnight. I didn’t get the chance to read it early so I’m so glad that the wait is finally over.

The world sounds incredible – a destroyed planet, a frozen city “blanketed in ice” that is still a “24-hour hedonistic playground” and rumors of “sinister sorcery.” How cool is that?

I cannot wait to meet Natasha Kestal and find out just what her “darkest secret” is. I can’t wait to find out if there really is a place called “the Blue.” And I am just so curious what lies will have to be overcome in order for true love to survive for her and Ryan “Wes” Wesson.

This book sounds dark and magical and I hope that I will get the chance to get this book on the pile next week.

    The Wicked Within

    addtogoodreads

THE WICKED WITHIN by Kelly Keaton will be released in the U.S. on September 17, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Simon Pulse, the print edition is 288 pages.

THE WICKED WITHIN is the third and final book in Kelly Keaton’s Gods & Monsters series.

    Dots_Divider

I am a little behind with this series but I am thrilled that THE WICKED WITHIN is releasing this week and will be added to my collection along with the first two books in the series. I loved DARKNESS BECOMES HER and I can’t wait to get caught up and find out what’s been happening with Ari.

While I have read the description for A BEAUTIFUL EVIL, I refuse to read the description for this latest release. Though I have heard that this is the final book in the series, which makes me even more excited by the fact that I can read this series to its conclusion and not have to wait.

But I don’t know what happens with regard to Violet’s kidnapping by Athena. I don’t know what’s going on with Ari and the Medusa curse. I don’t know if things have heated up between her and Sebastian and I have no idea what’s in store for any of the characters in this final installment in the series.

I love the mythology and the world that Author Kelly Keaton created. And while I am sad that this series is ending with this book, I can’t wait to devour both books and I hope to do so before the month ends.

    Tumble and Fall

    addtogoodreads

TUMBLE & FALL by Alexandra Coutts will be released in the U.S. on September 17, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR), the print edition is 384 pages.

    Dots_Divider

I was so thrilled when I got the chance to read TUMBLE & FALL early via NetGalley when the copy I traded for never arrived. But due to a few issues with my nook, I was not able to read it as planned, so I am so excited that it will be releasing this week and I can finally read it.

TUMBLE & FALL was my Book Watch post the other week so I will try to keep this brief. But I am just so curious about this book, about its characters, about what they’ll decide to do with the time they have remaining.

I am expecting to be heartbroken. And I’m anticipating tears. The idea that there will be “surprise beginnings” when the world is about to end makes me so incredibly sad and I haven’t even started reading this book.

While I haven’t yet read a book by this author, though I do own one she wrote a couple years ago as Alexandra Bullen, I hear she’s a beautiful writer and I cannot wait to find out for myself with this, her latest, release.

    359

    addtogoodreads

3:59 by Gretchen McNeil will be released in the U.S. on September 17, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Balzer + Bray, the print edition is 368 pages.

    Dots_Divider

I was thrilled to have been able to trade for a copy of 3:59 and read my first Gretchen McNeil book just a little bit early. I loved this story and the author’s writing so I can’t wait to add this title to my collection this week.

As I already read and reviewed 3:59 I won’t tease about it too much. But I thought the idea of doppelgängers and parallel universes was fascinating. I loved getting to see just how not greener the grass was when Josie traded places with Jo. And I loved that this story mixed sci fi, mystery and horror together.

I still think this book should totally have been the first book in a series, but I suppose not having to wait for a follow-up book is a good thing, given how many books I am waiting on sequels for. And I suppose I am glad that I already read this book so that its addition to my collection is just that and not an addition to the TBR pile.

    The Dream Thieves

    addtogoodreads

THE DREAM THIEVES by Maggie Stiefvater will be released in the U.S. on September 17, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Scholastic Press, the print edition is 416 pages.

THE DREAM THIEVES is the second book in author Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle. The third and fourth books, currently untitled, are due out in 2014 and 2015.

    Dots_Divider

I don’t know how the release date snuck up on me for THE DREAM THIEVES! I’d been dying for this book to release and was so unbelievably excited when I was approved to read it via NetGalley. But my pre-order will be downloading on Tuesday and I haven’t yet had the chance to read this book that I’d been pining for.

I actually picked up THE DREAM THIEVES a few weeks ago and planned on going off-pile to read it. But it seems I have to read THE RAVEN BOYS again because I’m a little fuzzy on a few details as I’d read it during a rather hectic time and find myself a little bit lost. Though I do remember it was amazing.

But I did read the description for this sequel on Goodreads and it reveals next to nothing about what I can expect. Which makes me that much more desperate to find out what happens with Ronan and the fact that his dreams are interfering with his waking life. And it makes me even more curious about what’s in store for Blue, Adam and Gansey.

I really hope to be able to solve the mystery about just what comes next a bit later this week. But I will be reading this sequel and its predecessor next week no matter what.

    Once We Were

    addtogoodreads

ONCE WE WERE by Kat Zhang will be released in the U.S. on September 17, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperCollins, the print edition is 352 pages.

ONCE WE WERE is the second book in Kat Zhang’s The Hybrid Chronicles. The third book in the series, currently untitled, is slated for release in 2014.

    Dots_Divider

I have not yet read the first book in this series but I had to pre-order ONCE WE WERE as I have every intention of reading both books in the very near future. I was first drawn to this series because of its gorgeous covers. But the description sounds so very different and intriguing that I knew this would be a series I’d want to get to know.

I have yet to meet Eva and Addie and find out why they weren’t “settling” and one of them “fading.” I have yet to find out how Eva managed to survive, trapped in the shared body with Addie. And I haven’t found out whether they were willing to take the risk so that Eva could move again or if they did, what happened to them both.

I just know the description for this sequel will be incredibly spoiler-y and as I hope to be able to read both books in this series very soon, I don’t want to take even the littlest of peeks. But knowing that there will be two books for me to devour back-to-back makes me even more excited about discovering this series. And I hope to be able to do so early next month.

    ***A New Adult Title***

    A Little Too Far

    addtogoodreads

A LITTLE TOO FAR by Lisa Desrochers will be released in the U.S. on September 17, 2013 in eBook format. A paperback edition will be released on October 1st. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by William Morrow, the print edition is 336 pages.

A LITTLE TOO FAR is the first book in Author Lisa Desrochers’ new series of the same name. The second book in the series, A LITTLE TOO MUCH, is slated for release on November 12, 2013 and the third book in the series, A LITTLE TOO HOT, will be released on January 21, 2014.

    Dots_Divider

I am somewhat of a New Adult newbie but I love Author Lisa Desrochers’ writing and I just had to pre-order A LITTLE TOO FAR for my Kindle. I received a surprise copy from the author in print format which I’m currently reading and hope to be finished with tonight. But as I want this book to be a part of my permanent collection I have no plans to cancel my eBook pre-order.

The taboo subject matter and the promise of an extra sexy read aren’t types of stories I typically add to the pile. But I am curious to see how this author handles things and I’m curious to meet Lexie Banks and find out just how she gets involved in one… or potentially two… complicated relationships.

As I have scanned a few reviews on the A LITTLE TOO FAR Blog Tour from Rockstar Book Tours I have a feeling that there won’t be anything too shocking, that the way the author approaches the forbidden romance will be well-written, that there may be some heat but nothing too graphic. So I am excited to see where this story heads and I hope to be able to share my thoughts, whether here or on FAD, once I’ve read it.

And, yes, I think Italy is one of the most romantic countries in the world and I love that this story is set in Rome.

    Dots_Divider

Well it’s kind of a relief that I only have eight books pre-ordered this week. Especially since I’ll have read three of them before their respective release dates. And I should hopefully be reading at least two others in the next week or two.

So while it may be a slight burden on my wallet, it won’t affect my TBR pile too much. Of course I really want to buy the Leila Sales book that’s releasing on Tuesday….

I do feel as if I missed a ton of “other books of note” books, though. So maybe there are a few titles that I should have included in this post. But ignorance is bliss, right? I say yes, because it took me an hour or two less in order to create this post because of said potential ignorance. And that makes me more than a little bit happy.

    Anyway….

I have this new theme and I’m debating on whether or not to tweak the formatting for those “other books” to include the descriptions since I don’t talk about them like I do the books I am purchasing. But for now I’m keeping things status quo.

If you have been dying to read THE DREAM THIEVES I hope your copy will arrive on release date or your book store or library will have it in stock. And if you haven’t yet heard of Sherry Thomas’ THE BURNING SKY all I can say is that it’s an amazing and magical read and I can’t recommend it enough.

As ever, I hope you found a few titles you can’t live without and I hope that the wait has finally ended for one or two books you’ve been suffering the wait for. And if I missed any books in my list this week please let me know. I’d hate to miss out on the awesome!

    Dots_Divider

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!

    Giveaway: The Raven Boys SIGNED

A couple months ago I got an email stating that Books of Wonder in New York would be offering up for sale signed copies of Maggie Stiefvater’s upcoming book, THE RAVEN BOYS.
