    Description…

In this electrifying sixty-page companion novella to the New York Timesbestselling Shatter Me series, discover the fate of the Omega Point rebels as they go up against The Reestablishment. Set during and soon after the final moments of Unravel MeFracture Me is told from Adam’s perspective.

As Omega Point prepares to launch an all-out assault on The Reestablishment soldiers stationed in Sector 45, Adam’s focus couldn’t be further from the upcoming battle. He’s reeling from his breakup with Juliette, scared for his best friend’s life, and as concerned as ever for his brother James’s safety. And just as Adam begins to wonder if this life is really for him, the alarms sound. It’s time for war.

On the battlefield, it seems like the odds are in their favor—but taking down Warner, Adam’s newly discovered half brother, won’t be that easy. The Reestablishment can’t tolerate a rebellion, and they’ll do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam has ever cared about.

Fracture Me sets the stage for Ignite Me, the explosive finale in Tahereh Mafi’s epic dystopian series. It’s a novella not to be missed by fans who crave action-packed stories with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu.

FRACTURE ME is an exciting, action-filled and immensely entertaining novella in the Shatter Me series set following the events that took place in UNRAVEL ME, told from Adam’s point of view.

It is the perfect seque into the third and final book in the series, giving readers a peek at some of the events that transpired that would not be known by the series’ main character, Juliette. It sets the stage for what looks to be an epic finish to this series. And it allows readers to get a better idea of who Adam is, what his priorities are and what he is and is not aware of.

While brief, this novella is every bit as captivating as the author’s full-length novels. It immediately grabs hold and brings readers back into this oppressive, ravaged and war-torn world the author created. A world filled with people living in fear and those ready to fight back. A world where a touch can heal or it can kill.

A world whose fate may rest in the hands of one girl.

With a lightning fast pace and suspense-filled, nerve-wracking moments, FRACTURE ME is a thrilling, must read installment in this series. It shows a different side to Adam, it reveals his fears and doubts and motivations. It hints at what is to come in IGNITE ME.

And it will keep readers on the edge of their seats, holding their breath, crossing their fingers and wishing and hoping their hearts won’t be broken at the novella’s end.

    Reviewer gives this book…

    On a personal note…

I had been on a bit of a reading hiatus. But there was no way I could resist picking up and devouring FRACTURE ME when it released. The Shatter Me series is one of my most favorite and memorable series. Ever. The author’s writing is breathtaking and beautiful and unique.

Her stories and characters have taken me on an emotional rollercoaster in each and every book and story in this series. I love them, hate them, fear for them, hope for them, ache for them.

I desperately wanted to wait until just before the release of IGNITE ME before picking up this novella. But I just had to see if reading this story from Adam’s POV would make me adore him again, after being firmly on Warner’s side throughout my reads of UNRAVEL ME and DESTROY ME.

And while I am still a Warner fan, I couldn’t help but fall for Adam just a little bit, again. He proved that he is not a pushover and is not blinded by his feelings for Juliette. But he also revealed… oh, oops… just because he revealed something doesn’t mean I should.

But I loved that there was more to this story than just Adam and Juliette – though I love, love, loved that it revealed that one tiny thing about Juliette that Adam noticed but that Juliette wasn’t aware of. I was shocked and surprised and heartbroken by what took place in this novella. I could not believe what transpired and I am dying to find out how things will look from Juliette’s perspective.

The moment I finished reading I was desperate to get my hands on the final book. Even with my aversion to finishing books in a series, I can’t help but want to see how this series ends. The moment, second, instant it releases.

I’d been somewhat anxious that I wouldn’t love this novella as much as the rest of the series because it was told from Adam’s POV and it was set after everything that went down in UNRAVEL ME. But my fears were allayed immediately and I fell in love with this read as easily I have every other by this author.

FRACTURE ME is a definite, absolute, must, must read.

    My Reading Pile #144

    MyReadingPileText

I know I’m a bit late with this week’s My Reading Pile post and missed last week’s post, but as I haven’t been doing any reading due to some IRL stuffs going on, I wasn’t able to post this until now.

And while I didn’t receive any hard copy review books in the mail last week, I did receive some awesome books and eGalleys. So I didn’t want to miss the chance to share them.

[Credit for mailbox sharing goes to The Story Siren]

I had participated in a charitable auction and won an ARC of AFTER THE END, the first book in a new series of the same name by Amy Plum, along with signed paperback copies of the Die for Me series by the author. There was also some swag that was to be included, but as the post office damaged the packages so badly, most of it was MIA by the time I received it. I’m just happy I received the books and ARC.

And while I did end up grabbing an eARC of AFTER THE END the other week, I am madly in love with the printed ARC I received and will be reading that instead of the electronic copy.

I also had grabbed quite a few eARCs from Edelweiss, was granted access to one title, and was approved for two I’d requested awhile back.

I didn’t receive all these titles this week. Some I grabbed the week before last, before life got in the way. But as I didn’t create an MRP post last week, it seems like I received a LOT of books. All of which I am excited to read. But for now…

Here are the books I have in my reading pile this week.

As it is so late in the week already and because I haven’t been able to lose myself in a book for the past couple of weeks, I’m only adding one short novella to the pile this week, and that is FRACTURE ME (Shatter Me #2.5) by Tahereh Mafi.

Although I have not been able to focus on a book or on much of anything lately… my mind has been preoccupied with the chaos that is my life right now… I am hopeful that reading this short story from Adam’s POV will be able to get me back into reading again.

I adore Tahereh Mafi’s writing. There’s just something so brilliant and wonderful about the way she connects words. And even though I am terribly mad at Juliette right now, I can’t wait to continue on with this series and to read FRACTURE ME this week and find out just how it sets the stage for the final book in the series.

    Wishful Thinking Reads

As I have been down in the dolrums as of late, I don’t have a wishful thinking read picked out. Of course I wish I could read every title that I have in my collection currently on my TBR pile, but since that’s just not possible at the moment, I’ll save my wish for next week’s pile.

    line3

    Those Left Behind

I did manage to finish reading ICED from the pile two weeks ago, but just barely. I had read all but the last ten or so pages before everything went haywire in my life. I’m not sure when I finished those last few pages, but I do vaguely recall doing so. But I haven’t been able to pick up a book since then.

So I did not get to read ONE GRAVE AT A TIME just yet. But I am hopeful of doing so before the final book in the series releases.

I also managed to finish those edits to my WIP… which I guess is technically a manuscript. But that, too, was just a “barely.” Things started going downhill, which delayed their completion, but I spent a few hours one day and got them done before my deadline.

I was not, however, able to take that exam for Coastal Navigation. And while it’s not something left behind from my TBR pile, it is something left behind. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it together enough to take the test some time in early January.

    line3

I hope to get back on track with my MRP posts this weekend and with my reading, too. My inability to escape into a book is something I really want to change. I’m just not quite sure how at the moment. Mindless television series marathons on Netflix seem to be all I’m capable of right now.

I have a ton of books on the pile and a reading challenge in 2014 that will (hopefully) help me tackle some of those. But I have to be able to focus long enough to read in order to do so.

I am attempting FRACTURE ME tonight and will be keeping my fingers crossed that it will captivate me as everything Tahereh Mafi has done. And, if it does break me out of my reader’s block, then maybe I’ll try to read the Jeaniene Frost book I missed from a couple weeks back.

While I’m having a bit of a reading slump due to the beatdown that life has given me recently, I hope the same is not true of you. And, as ever, I wish you a happy reading week ahead.

I don’t normally include novellas in my Releasing This Week posts but I just had to talk about FRACTURE ME which I’m totally stoked released today. I have loved everything about this series from the moment I first read the first few pages of the very first book in the series and I am so excited to have yet another story about this world and its characters.

As I am terrified of just how this series will end and how badly my heart will be broken I am so glad to have a companion novella which just might not do as much damage. Though, having read the description, I have a feeling it might….

While I haven’t been able to pick up a book for the past couple of weeks due to some real life stuffs going on, I think FRACTURE ME will be just the book to be able to hold my focus and allow me to escape for a little while. And I can’t wait to dive in.

    Ashes to Ashes

    addtogoodreads

ASHES TO ASHES by Melissa Walker will be released in the U.S. on December 23, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Katherine Tegen Books, the print edition is 336 pages.

ASHES TO ASHES is the first book in a duology by Author Melissa Walker. The second and final book in the series, DUST TO DUST, is slated for release in December 2014.

    Dots_Divider

When I first read the description for ASHES TO ASHES I knew I had to add it to my list of pre-orders and I can’t wait for it to finally be released on Monday. The description promises tragedy, romance, a story that is “emotionally rich” and an ending that is breathtaking – how could I not want to have this book in my collection?

I love the idea that in this story Callie’s life doesn’t end with her death and that her spirit travels to an ethereal plane populated by ghosts. I love that she is able to bring peace to those she left behind. And I love, too, that she has to fight to save those she loves from the angry spirits who threaten their existence.

I can’t wait to meet Callie and find out whether her story is one that has a happy eternally ever after or is one that ends in heartbreak. But I suppose that even if I were to read ASHES TO ASHES right now, I won’t know for certain. I’m pretty sure I won’t get that answer until next December with the release of DUST TO DUST.

And as much as I probably should wait until closer to that book’s release, I don’t think I’ll be able to. Though I will try and wait until January. Especially as I just know there will be tears.

    Description…

If I Stay meets the movie Ghost in this first book in a teen duology about a teenage-girl-turned-ghost who must cling to the echoes of her former life to save the people she left behind.

Ashes to Ashes is author Melissa Walker’s sweeping, romantic, and emotionally rich story about the things that torment and tempt us, even from the Great Beyond. This book is perfect for fans of Die for Me and Imaginary Girls, and its breathtaking ending will leave readers anxiously awaiting the series conclusion, Dust to Dust.

When Callie’s life is cut short by a tragic accident, she expects to find nothingness, or maybe some version of heaven.

Instead, her spirit travels to the Prism, an ethereal plane populated by the ghosts she thought were fictional. Here she meets a striking and mysterious ghost named Thatcher, who is meant to guide her as she learns to haunt and bring peace to the loved ones she left behind.

However, Callie uncovers a dark secret about the spirit world: The angry souls who always populate ghost stories are real, dangerous, and willing to do whatever it takes to stay on Earth, threatening the existence of everyone she ever cared about.

As she fights to save them, Callie will learn that while it may no longer beat, her heart can still love-and break.

ECHO IN TIME by C.J. Hill will be released in the U.S. on December 23, 2013 in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Katherine Tegen Books, the print edition is 400 pages.

ECHO IN TIME is the second book in Author C.J. Hill’s Erasing Time series.

    Dots_Divider

I can’t wait to get the chance to read ECHO IN TIME when it releases on Monday. I love this series and I am anxiously awaiting the chance to continue it with this second book, which I’ve had pre-ordered for ages.

As I already spotlighted it for my Book Watch post the other week and I will be on the book’s tour in a couple weeks, I won’t go on and on and on. But I am seriously excited to find out what happens on Taylor and Joseph’s mission and to see just what consequences their actions have.

The description calls this sequel “action-packed and romantic” and I am very much looking forward to escaping into this world and finding out if that’s true. If real life isn’t too crazy next week I hope to be able to discover it then.

    Description…

Echo in Time delivers on “the possibility of an equally thrilling sequel” (Kirkus Reviews) to Erasing Time.

After being pulled 400 years into the future, twins Taylor and Sheridan have found some refuge from the government of Traventon, which used the dangerous Time Strainer to yank the girls from the past. Yet the threat of the dangerous technology still looms. Taylor and an ally, Joseph, are selected to go on a mission to destroy the time machine and weapon. But their actions before they do may have major consequences for the future and the past.

Action-packed and romantic, this futuristic sequel to Erasing Time is perfect for fans of dystopian and sci-fi novels such as The Maze Runner by James Dashner, Across the Universe by Beth Revis, and Matched by Ally Condie.

But I didn’t want to miss posting about this week’s releases, even if I am just a touch late in posting it.

While I’m still not reading, as I can’t seem to find an escape in books at the moment, I am desperately going to try and do so with FRACTURE ME this week. But we shall see. Life has given me a beating as of late, but I’m hoping that books will be able to once again be things that bring me joy.

For all of you who are able to find happiness in a good book or three, I hope there are some titles releasing this week that will do just that for you. And while there aren’t a ton of new releases this week, there are a few lovely eNovellas out this week that are definitely worth adding to your collection.

So I wish you all a happy book acquiring and reading week this week.
