The Trailers: Wild Cards Episode One

As you may or may not know already I am a huge fan of author Simone Elkeles. Since long before I became a book blogger. So when I received the news that the author had put together a mini reality series teaser trailer for her upcoming book WILD CARDS I just had to share the news here on the blog.

WILD CARDS is due out on October 1st and I was thrilled to get the chance to read it prior to its release. I absolutely loved getting to know Derek and Ashtyn and cannot wait to find out who the next wild cards will be in this series.

As part of the Authors Are Rockstars Tour I had a chance to put Rockstar Author Simone Elkeles in the spotlight and share an excerpt from WILD CARDS. If you’d like to check that out and enter for a chance to win a pre-order copy of the book – the giveaway ends tomorrow – you can do so HERE.

And now, without any further ado, as it is just over ten minutes long and way more fun than my ramblings, her is Episode One…

    Episode One

Wild CardsWILD CARDS (Wild Cards #1) by Simone Elkeles

    Release date: October 1, 2013
    Publisher: Walker Childrens
    Pages: 352
    Formats: Hardcover, audio, eBook

After getting kicked out of boarding school, bad boy Derek Fitzpatrick has no choice but to live with his ditzy stepmother while his military dad is deployed. Things quickly go from bad to worse when he finds out she plans to move them back to her childhood home in Illinois. Derek’s counting the days before he can be on his own, and the last thing he needs is to get involved with someone else’s family drama.

Ashtyn Parker knows one thing for certain–people you care about leave without a backward glance. A football scholarship would finally give her the chance to leave. So she pours everything into winning a state championship, until her boyfriend and star quarterback betrays them all by joining their rival team. Ashtyn needs a new game plan, but it requires trusting Derek—someone she barely knows, someone born to break the rules. Is she willing to put her heart on the line to try and win it all?

    Trailer Reveal: Opal (Lux #3)

I am so excited that I was in the right place at the right time so that I could be a part of the amazing trailer reveal for Jennifer L. Armentrout’s OPAL, the third book in her LUX series.

This awesome trailer was created by VLC Photo Productions and I’m so happy to be able to share it here on the blog tonight.

I could go on and on… I’m a huge fan of book trailers… but I’ll just let the trailer speak for itself.

    The OPAL Book Trailer

Awesome, right? It makes me that much more anxious to get my copy of OPAL next month. Which is a long, long, long, long, long ways away. I think I’m going through some major Daemon Black withdrawal right about now.

If you haven’t heard about this series, or the upcoming release for OPAL, check out the description below. And if for some reason you haven’t yet “met” the author, Jennifer Armentrout, there’s a pic and a few places where you can find her online.

    OPAL (Lux #3)

    {Available in both print and digital editions on December 11, 2012}

    Barnes and Noble

    Official Opal Book Trailer

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger… and they know it.

    Trailer Reveal: Gravity and Luminosity

As a huge fan of trailers I was totally stoked to be invited to be a part of the trailer reveals for GRAVITY and LUMINOSITY. Now, not only do I have cover love, I think both trailers are super cool. Which makes the wait for both books even harder.

Fortunately both GRAVITY and LUMINOSITY will be releasing in just a few weeks, so the wait isn’t too bad….

Anyway… below are both trailers and some info about the books and authors. And there’s also an eBook giveaway hosted by the publisher. So be sure to check them out!

    GRAVITY Trailer

I love this trailer! It’s dark and edgy, not at all what I’d expected for this title, but I think it’s awesome. I want to meet this enemy that might be the only one Ari can trust. I so can’t wait!

    About Gravity

    Title: GRAVITY (The Taking #1)
    Author: Melissa West
    Pages: 400
    Publisher: Entangled Teen
    Release Date: October 30, 2012

In the future, only one rule will matter:

    Don’t. Ever. Peek.

Seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander just broke that rule and saw the last person she expected hovering above her bed — arrogant Jackson Locke, the most popular boy in her school. She expects instant execution or some kind of freak alien punishment, but instead, Jackson issues a challenge: help him, or everyone on Earth will die.

Ari knows she should report him, but everything about Jackson makes her question what she’s been taught about his kind. And against her instincts, she’s falling for him. But Ari isn’t just any girl, and Jackson wants more than her attention. She’s a military legacy who’s been trained by her father and exposed to war strategies and societal information no one can know — especially an alien spy, like Jackson. Giving Jackson the information he needs will betray her father and her country, but keeping silent will start a war.

    About Melissa West

Melissa lives in a tiny suburb of Atlanta, GA with her husband and daughter. She pretends to like yoga, actually likes shoes, and could not live without coffee. Her writing heroes include greats like Jane Austen and Madeleine L’Engle.

She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies and an M.S. in Graphic Communication, both from Clemson University. Yeah, her blood runs orange.

    GRAVITY is her first book.

    LUMINOSITY Trailer

Okay, I think I’ve fallen for the enemy in this trailer too! I really hope Beatrice can be the protector she needs to be. And I really love the song, though I may have gotten caught up in the lyrics on my first or second viewing before I read through all those teasers about the book. But this is so another book I can’t wait for!

    About Luminosity

    Title: LUMINOSITY (Raven Chronicles #1)
    Author: Stephanie Thomas
    Pages: 400
    Publisher: Entangled Teen
    Release Date: November 6, 2012

My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.

The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.

But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I think I’ve already helped them win.

    About Stephanie Thomas

Stephanie Thomas has been writing ever since she could put letters together to form words. When she was a small child, she would present her mother and father with self-made newspapers filled up with make believe stories and pictures. Her love for writing followed her all throughout her schooling, where she entered and won writing contests of all sorts.

Stephanie decided to become an English teacher and completed her B.A. at The Pennsylvania State University. While teaching, she later went on to get her Master’s in writing from The Johns Hopkins University. She completed her very first manuscript during her graduate studies, and by the end of the program, she had completed two more.

Stephanie is quick to tell anyone that she’s a born and raised Philadelphian, and her heart will always belong there. She moved to Baltimore with her husband, and they’ve been living there for the last five years with their doggie, Sailor, and their rabbit, Buns (aka “T Sizzle).

The publisher, Entangled Teen, is offering up four eBook copies – 2 copies of GRAVITY and 2 copies of LUMINOSITY – to four winners. I want one… or both!
