WHILE YOU WERE GONE Blog Tour: ‘Meeting Danny Ogden’ Guest Post + Giveaway

whileyouweregone

I am totally stoked to be today’s stop on the WHILE YOU WERE GONE Blog Tour. Why? Well, first because it’s WHILE YOU WERE GONE’s book birthday. That’s right. The wait is OVER. After months and months and months we can finally get to know the other Eevee and the other Danny… or would that be the original Danny… or rather the Danny who got swapped for the Danny we previously met.

Mind. Boggled.

Anyway…

So I’m thrilled because we get to meet the other versions of Eevee and Danny. And, second, I’m also super excited because I have an awesome post by Eevee – this book’s Eevee, that is – on meeting Danny Ogden that I get to share. And there’s also an incredible giveaway on this tour.

If you haven’t yet read the Part I, now’s the perfect time. Because you won’t have to wait to flip between the parallel universes. You can just dive right into this sequel once you’ve finished and figure out which Eevee and which Danny you like more, which Danny was luckier, who had the easier/better/more interesting/more dangerous life, which of the parallel universes you’d rather live in.

Both books in the series are super quick reads and the duo can easily be read back-to-back in a single sitting. So if you have a few hours, love the idea of parallel universes, love a bit of romance, and love, love, love action, suspense, secrets and mysteries, then as soon as you’re done reading Eevee’s guest post, checking out the other stops on the tour, entering the giveaway for a chance to win a copy of WHILE YOU WERE GONE, and visiting the author on all her various social media accounts, start reading!

Eevee is a promising young artist and the governor’s daughter in a city where censorship is everywhere and security is everything. When a fire devastates her exhibition—years in the making—her dreams of attending an elite art institute are dashed. She’s struggling to find inspiration when she meets Danny, a boy from a different world. Literally.

Raised in a foster home, Danny has led a life full of hurt and hardship until a glitch in the universe changes everything. Suddenly Danny is living in a home he’s never seen, with parents who miraculously survived the car crash that should have killed them. It’s like he’s a new Danny. But this alternate self has secrets—ties to an underground anarchist group that have already landed him in hot water. When he starts to develop feelings for Eevee, he’s even more disturbed to learn that he might have started the fire that ruined her work.

As Danny sifts through clues from his past and Eevee attempts to piece together her future, they uncover a secret that’s bigger than both of them. . . . And together, they must correct the breach between the worlds before it’s too late.

The Guest Post

Meeting Danny Ogden

by Eevee Solomon of While You Were Gone

Life is strange like that.

You’re heading one way, minding your own business, and suddenly life throws something—or someone—in your path and next thing you know, you’re headed in an entirely different direction.

He was the last person I ever expected to see again. Especially in the dairy section of the grocery store. To be honest, he didn’t seem like the kind of guy who’d even be on my side of town. Which only makes the whole thing weirder.

It was just a quick stop for yogurt and soda before heading back to school. We’d finished up Dad’s press conference for the Skylar event over at DART. I hadn’t had a chance to change out of my uptight business dress, and my feet were killing me wearing those stupid heels. I swapped them for the flip-flops in my overnight bag and let my hair down. Jonas pulled up to the curb by the front door, and waited while I ran inside. I headed for the back of the store, where the yogurt is, first. Grabbed a few flavors. Then did an epic fail at balancing the containers while shutting the refrigerator door. Someone picked up the lemon raspberry that had fallen out of my hands. When I turned to thank the person I saw that it was him.

Danny Ogden.

The stranger I kissed that night at the museum. The boy I was never going to see again.

“It’s you,” I said. Ugh. It was all my brain could come up with, so suddenly full of the memories from that night. The feeling of his arms around me. The taste of his lips on mine.

He looked like he recognized me, but couldn’t remember how. I could see it in his eyes. I can only imagine how stupid I must have looked. To be honest, the whole thing threw me. It was such a shock. And it seemed like every move I made, every word that came out of my mouth, just made me look like a fool. So when another power outage hit and the store went dark, I took the loser way out and left.

I know. Totally lame.

But I wasn’t supposed to see him again. Not at the grocery store. And certainly not again at that rave.

How is that possible? How in the world is that even possible? That’s just too weird, too much, to be a coincidence, right?

Right?

Description…

In a parallel universe, the classic bad boy falls for the class science geek.

One minute Danny was running from the cops, and the next, he jolted awake in an unfamiliar body – his own, but different. Somehow, he’s crossed into a parallel universe. Now his friends are his enemies, his parents are long dead, and studious Eevee is not the mysterious femme fatale he once kissed back home. Then again, this Eevee – a girl who’d rather land an internship at NASA than a date to the prom–may be his only hope of getting home.

Eevee tells herself she’s only helping him in the name of quantum physics, but there’s something undeniably fascinating about this boy from another dimension… a boy who makes her question who she is, and who she might be in another place and time.
