I have not yet started this series by Kiersten White, but I have every intention of doing so fairly soon after PERFECT LIES downloads to my Kindle on Monday Midnight. While I haven’t read the first book I just had to pre-order the sequel, because it’s Kiersten White. And because this series sounds seriously awesome.

I can’t wait to meet Annie and Fia and learn more about the Keane Foundation. I can’t wait to find out just what James is hiding from Fia – yes I peeked at this book’s description. And I cannot wait to discover who is trustworthy and who isn’t.

I don’t know if there are three books planned in this series, but I think there must be as the description doesn’t say “conclusion.” So I’m sort of debating on whether or not to hold off for just a bit before I dive in so the wait for the next book will be shorter.

Of course if my resistance crumbles – and I know it will – I will likely be reading both books back to back early next month.

Description…

Annie and Fia are ready to fight back.

The sisters have been manipulated and controlled by the Keane Foundation for years, trapped in a never ending battle for survival. Now they have found allies who can help them truly escape. After faking her own death, Annie has joined a group that is plotting to destroy the Foundation. And Fia is working with James Keane to bring his father down from the inside.

But Annie’s visions of the future can’t show her who to trust in the present. And though James is Fia’s first love, Fia knows he’s hiding something. The sisters can rely only on each other – but that may not be enough to save them.

I am so excited that MAYBE ONE DAY is releasing this week and that my copy will download to my Kindle on Tuesday. This book sounds so amazing and heartbreaking and beautiful and I can’t wait to read it.

I chose to spotlight this book for my Book Watch post the other week so I won’t ramble on for quite as long. But I can’t help but ramble just a little bit. Because it sounds just so heartrending.

And I can’t wait to meet Zoe and Olivia. I can’t wait to see just how Zoe copes with Olivia’s illness. I can’t wait to find out whether this story ends on a happy note or ends tragically.

The potential loss of a best friend at such a young age is such a terrible thing. While I’d known the loss of friends and acquaintances when I was a teen, it was never a best friend. So I can’t even imagine what both Zoe and Olivia are going through. But I very much look forward to connecting with them in MAYBE ONE DAY. And I hope to be able to do so next week.

Description…

Critically acclaimed author Melissa Kantor masterfully captures the joy of friendship, the agony of loss, and the unique experience of being a teenager in this poignant new novel about a girl grappling with her best friend’s life-threatening illness.

Zoe and her best friend, Olivia, have always had big plans for the future, none of which included Olivia getting sick. Still, Zoe is determined to put on a brave face and be positive for her friend.

Even when she isn’t sure what to say.

Even when Olivia misses months of school.

Even when Zoe starts falling for Calvin, Olivia’s crush.

The one thing that keeps Zoe moving forward is knowing that Olivia will beat this, and everything will go back to the way it was before. It has to. Because the alternative is too terrifying for her to even imagine.

In this incandescent page-turner, which follows in the tradition of The Fault in Our Stars, Melissa Kantor artfully explores the idea that the worst thing to happen to you might not be something that is actually happening to you. Raw, irreverent, and honest, Zoe’s unforgettable voice and story will stay with readers long after the last page is turned.

It may have kept her family together, but she has no clue how to handle how she’s really feeling. Today is the anniversary of his death and cracks are beginning to show. The last thing she needs is the new kid telling her how much he dislikes her for no reason she can understand. She’s determined to change his mind, and when they’re stuck together for the night, she finally gets her chance.

Jonah hates her at 3p.m., but how will he feel at 3 a.m.?

Lincoln is a huge state mental institution, a good place for Forest to make some money to pay for college. But along with hundreds of very unstable patients, it also has underground tunnels, bell towers that ring unexpectedly, and a closet that holds more than just donated clothing….When the dead husband of one of Forest’s patients makes an appearance late one night, seemingly accompanied by an agent of the Devil, Forest loses all sense of reality and all sense of time. Terrified, she knows she has a part to play, and when she does so, she finds a heritage that she never expected.

With her deep knowledge of mental illness and mental institutions, Susan Vaught brings readers a fascinating and completely creepy new book intertwining the stories of three young people who find themselves haunted beyond imagining in the depths of Lincoln Hospital.

I am so glad that this is a quiet release week. I’m guessing it’s quiet because of the fact that it’s holiday week in the U.S. But I don’t care. My bank account is so very, very thankful. Though I am going to be clicking to buy INSANITY – I just know it – it still means only three new books this week.

Okay… so I lied. I’m pretty sure I’ll be adding Heather Brewer’s latest to my collection, too. I own all the other books in this series and the Vladimir Tod series, so I can’t imagine not adding this one. So that’s four. A bit worse than the two I have pre-ordered. But it’s not nearly as insane as the last few weeks.

And with next week’s releases numbering in the double digits, I’m just glad to have a mini break.

I hope that with the fact that this is a quieter release week it will be easier to find a new release to add to your collection. When there are umpteen books releasing, it is so difficult choose which book or books to add to your toppling reading piles. With just a handful of new YA releases this week, it will hopefully be a lot easier to spot the gems.

But if, for some reason, I’ve missed an amazing book’s release, please let me know. I couldn’t bear the thought of missing out on a must read!

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
