Book Blogger NY Challenge

As I may have already mentioned, I’ve decided to participate in Parajunkee’s Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge. This challenge is NOT at all as easy as I thought it was going to be, though (thankfully) today’s topic isn’t too challenging. It’s just a long, long list. One I had to limit to just a handful.

2013 Reads I’m Sad I Missed

I wouldn’t say the books I have listed below are ones I “missed” because I own each and every one of them. But I did miss them in the sense that I didn’t get the chance to read them in 2013 as I’d hoped to do.

I am not a fast reader. I am an eclectic and moody reader. And time is my worst enemy. So in that sense I missed these awesome-sounding books. But my hope is that some day in the near or far future they will be moved from the TBR shelf to the Read shelf.

And just like with my resolutions, I’ve decided to stick with lucky number seven – seven YA reads I missed and seven non-YA ones. But in reality the list extends beyond a hundred. Which is stressing me out. Big time.

I wish I could say that was it. But there are so many series that date back to well before 2013 that I want to dive into that had books releasing in 2013. There are so many new series that began last year that I’d love to take a peek at. And there are quite a few 2013 standalone novels that have piqued my interest.

I take some comfort in the fact that I own just about every book from 2013 that I want to read someday. Though I’m starting to wonder whether someday will ever happen. It’s not seeming very likely.

What about you?

What are your most missed books of 2013? Are they from series you have yet to catch up on? Authors you have adored for ages? Debuts you have been told are absolute must reads?

Or are they as eclectic a mix as my list of missed reads?
