Description…

Once a cheater, always a cheater?

From the moment Will and Sarah first set eyes upon each other, they know that what they have is special.

There’s just one little problem . . . each of them already has a significant other.

After flirting with danger, it becomes clear their passion is too strong to be denied. But even if they make their relationship official, there are plenty of challenges in store. Will leaves for college at the end of the summer, while Sarah faces her senior year of high school in their small suburban town. Long-distance relationships always come with their fair share of troubles—mismatched schedules, jealousy, and temptation are only the beginning.

Can cheaters ever change?

WHILE YOU’RE AWAY is a steamy story about a love triangle, a long-distance relationship, and learning the true meaning of commitment.

Review

WHILE YOU’RE AWAY Part III is yet another beautifully written and exquisitely torturous installment in this serialized novel. In Part II, Sarah made her decision. In this set of six chapters, it’s now up to Will to decide, to prove himself, to show Sarah whether his feelings for her are real.

Author Jessa Holbrook teases readers with her characters’ indecision and inaction. She plants even more doubt into the relationship and begins to set the stage for their biggest obstacle yet – being apart. But she also continues to allow her character, Sarah, to grow and other parts of the story to progress.

While the main focus is the complicated, romantic and incredibly sexy love story, Sarah’s friendships, family and passion for music play a significant part in this story. They add layers and interest and provide more to think about than just the roller-coaster that is Sarah and Will’s relationship.

At the halfway point in this novel there are more questions than ever awaiting answers. Questions about what Sarah wants with and from both Will and Dave. Questions about Will’s feelings, about their future together, about their future apart, about Sarah’s family, about her and Dave’s band Dasa. Questions that will hopefully be answered by this novel’s end.

With each new installment readers will become more invested in the story and characters and with each part’s ending they will be that much more anxious for the next. Whether read all at once or week by week, WHILE YOU’RE AWAY is a riveting and absolutely gorgeous read.

On a personal note…

Oh my gosh this book is amazing! Torturous but amazing. The way this author writes those scenes between Will and Sarah makes me melt. I’m talking a pile of mush. I wish I could share my most favorites so you’d know exactly why, but they are so much better when read in context. They’re also way too spoiler-y to share.

But at the same time that I’m all swoon-y, I feel my heart aching for Sarah and Will. Because everything is so up in the air. Everything has the potential to fall apart. Everything feels like it can change drastically in an instant. Including their feelings for one another.

I want so badly for them to have their HEA but as this story feels so very realistic I’m not sure it’s possible. I’m already starting to get that pit in my stomach. The one that I get when I’m anticipating that something really bad is going to happen, something that’s going to leave me in tears. But I have to wait a week… or more… to get answers and to live with this feeling. And it’s killing me.

If this story wasn’t as utterly ahhhh-mazing as it is, if I wasn’t so desperate for it to download to my Kindle each week, I might consider waiting until all parts to this novel are released before reading. But that’s not going to happen. Because this book is way too awesome and I’m way too invested to have to wait until then.

So, while it is killing me to have to wait, and it is unbelievably torturous, it’s deliciously torturous. Which is not entirely a bad thing. It gives me something to look forward to each week. Each installment does not disappoint – this story just keeps getting better and better. And oh my gosh I seriously love these characters.

I’m just so glad the wait is only a week.

Favorite passage

Once again there were so many beautifully written passages in this third part of the story. I had two favorites but as they are incredibly spoiler-y I chose this one.

Will put his brow to my temple, shuddering with a long, exhaled breath. Beneath the tinny, raucous sound of CGI battle, I heard Will whispering. I couldn’t make out his words at first. It sounded like a prayer, a rosary whispered against my curls.

Then aloud, so loud it seemed to echo off the broken-down statuary around us, Will said, “Are you really mine, now?”
