Don’t Let It End Reading Challenge – Month Four

If you’re just visiting here now and have no idea what this challenge is about, CLICK HERE for the post with all the details. It’s not too late to sign up!

To be a participant in this challenge you don’t have to read a series-ending book each month of the challenge. But if you do, and leave your links, you’ll have that many fewer series-ending books on your TBR pile and you’ll get an entry for each review link into the current month’s giveaway for a book of your choice to one winner.

If you have been actively participating in this challenge and managed to make it through the first three months, it means you’re more than halfway through this challenge.

There are just two months left, including this one, in the Don’t Let It End Reading Challenge. Which is good – as there is still time to take the plunge and finish those series that should have already been finished – and bad… for the very same reason. Especially if you really don’t want to see those favorite series end.

Once again, both WITH ALL MY SOUL and CLOCKWORK PRINCESS seem to have been the favorite series-ending books to read last month. Of course, I still haven’t managed to say goodbye to Cassandra Clare’s series….

And during this past month, it was Haraiah of Random Things in Action that totally rocked the challenge.

While I didn’t do as poorly as I did the previous month of the challenge, I still didn’t get to finish all the series I wanted to.

This past month I managed to read:

UNBREAKABLE (Unraveling #2) by Elizabeth Norris

THE GIRL WITH THE IRON TOUCH (The Steampunk Chronicles #3) by Kady Cross – review scheduled

I thought it was a little odd that THE GIRL WITH THE IRON TOUCH was to be the final book in the series. Especially as there was definitely more story to tell. With the way things ended and all…. Well I’ve heard chatter that there will be another book or two in the series. Though I can’t confirm it. So I’m removing this from my challenge list for now. Even though I read it thinking it was the final book.

GODDESS (Starcrossed #3) by Josephine Angelini – review to be written

But I had hoped to read IF I SHOULD DIE by Amy Plum and I had hoped to finish reading DANCE OF THE RED DEATH by Bethany Griffin in time to list them for the third month of the challenge. That didn’t happen. But both books better be in next month’s post listing or I’ll be so disappointed in myself.

And no, I still couldn’t bring myself to read FORETOLD or SPELL BOUND, but I will read them before July 14th… I hope.

In this fourth month of the challenge my plan is to finally read CLOCKWORK PRINCESS. I also think it might be time to finish Alyson Noel’s The Immortals series or Melissa de la Cruz’s Blue Bloods. Though I’m not sure I’m ready to say goodbye to either just yet.

But what books are you “hoping” to read this month? I’d love to know!

Just a reminder of what to do….

When you’ve read the book and shared your thoughts online – whether on Goodreads, Facebook or your blog – stop back and leave a link in the Linky. At the end of this third month of the challenge I’ll throw the names into Random and choose a winner for ONE series ending book of your choice.

The more books you link up each month means more chances to win. And it also means you’ve managed to overcome any fears of seeing your favorite series end. Which is a good thing. Right?!?

The winner for this month’s Don’t Let It End Reading Challenge Book of Your Choice is….

Haraiah @ RTIA

Congratulations! You’ve won a series-ending books of your choice. Please email me – or fill out my contact form – with your book of choice and your address and I’ll order it from Amazon or The Book Depository – or pre-order it if it’s not yet released.

As ever, I wish you luck in tackling those series-ending books during this fourth month of the Don’t Let It End Reading Challenge. And I hope that things have gotten a bit easier.

For me, it wasn’t so hard to say goodbye this third month of the challenge… but then again I wasn’t focusing on the fact that they were series-ending books. I just wanted to see where the story was headed. I hope you found a way to make saying goodbye easier, too.

This month’s challenge ends on June 13th and the Month Five post will go up on June 14th. And I hope that with over half the challenge completed, saying goodbye will be as easy as saying hello.
