TRANSPARENT by Natalie Whipple will be released in the U.S. on May 21, 2013 in paperback, audio and eBook formats.
Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 368 pages.
While the week of May 21st isn’t as jam-packed with new release titles as the weeks surrounding it, there are quite a few books I’ve had on my watch list releasing that week. But there was one title that I found just so intriguing and different that I had to spotlight it for this week’s post and that is TRANSPARENT by Natalie Whipple.
A story about an invisible girl sounds absolutely fascinating. While the description on Goodreads was rather vague about just what the story entailed, I did find out more when I read the book’s description at Amazon. And it made me all the more curious about this upcoming release.
I can’t wait to learn more about Fiona McClean’s “mutation that allows her to become invisible.” I cannot wait to find out just what types of crimes her father made her commit before she and her mother escaped. And I’m so curious to see just what happens when her father comes after her.
The description hints that she’ll have to go to great lengths to protect those she loves. And I am super curious to see just what she is capable of when forced to do so.
An invisible girl with a crime lord for a father makes TRANSPARENT sounds totally wicked awesome. The fact that she’s a fierce heroine makes it even more so.
So while I am looking forward to each and every one of the awesome books I’ve listed below that are releasing the week of May 21st, I am most excited to dive into TRANSPARENT, a book that I think deserves to be in the spotlight and is the book to watch this week.

About the Book
Plenty of teenagers feel invisible. Fiona McClean actually is.
An invisible girl is a priceless weapon. Fiona’s own father has been forcing her to do his dirty work for years—everything from spying on people to stealing cars to breaking into bank vaults.
After sixteen years, Fiona’s had enough. She and her mother flee to a small town, and for the first time in her life, Fiona feels like a normal life is within reach. But Fiona’s father isn’t giving up that easily.
Of course, he should know better than anyone: never underestimate an invisible girl.
