Quickie “Thank You” Book of Your Choice Giveaway

As some of you may know I spent the last week-and-change testing and prepping my blog so that I could finally move it away from Network Solutions, where it’s been hosted since 2010, to Godaddy.

After countless service interruptions, slow load times, lack of response from their customer service team, et cetera, et cetera, I decided to take a chance and make this move. One that was not by any means easy. But between me and The Dude we finally accomplished what we set out to do.

And while I’d wanted to stay awake until it propagated to the new host’s IP address, so that I could re-open comments and post this “thank you” giveaway, I finally gave up shortly after three-thirty in the morning.

But when I woke up this morning, my site had made the switch!

And while it may not have fully propagated everywhere across the interwebs, if you’re seeing this giveaway, then you’re seeing the site at its new location.

I don’t expect perfection with my new host. But what I have come to rely on from them is customer service. They answer their phones, even when hold time isn’t always short. They are responsive to questions rather than simply defaulting to “resetting file permissions” and saying a tech will email me within 48 hours. They send me documentation so I can learn to do it myself. And they admit to problems on their end when they exist.

That is so not why you’re here. You’re here because I want to say…
…for visiting my site even when it loaded slower than most book blogs due to the latency issues caused by my host. For coming back to visit my site even when it would randomly disappear due to my former host’s issues. For being patient with me and my blog this past week as posts went up at random times during the day.

To those of you in the 2013 TBR Pile Reading Challenge who couldn’t leave your comments for the past fourteen hours – for being extra patient. And especially to those of you who have been amazing readers and commentators this past two-and-change years since Fiktshun came to be.
