Book Watch: Releasing This Week #111

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of February 12th-February 18th that I have pre-ordered.

I am so excited that SEVER is releasing this week and that I’ll finally be able to read this book which I heard is an awesome conclusion to the trilogy. I loved WITHER and while I haven’t yet read FEVER I am so excited about reading these two books back-to-back.

I heard the second book in the series was a bit of a departure from the first so I thought I’d wait until the final book was out before continuing the journey. And I’m so glad the wait is finally over. I can’t wait to see what happens to Rhine. Though I am even more curious about Linden.

I did take a quick peek at the description and I’m dying to find out just what “everything Rhine knows to be true will be irrevocably shattered” means. I don’t know that there is a possibility for a happy ending, but I’m very anxious to see whether it will be bittersweet… or worse.

The Indigo Spell

THE INDIGO SPELL by Richelle Mead will be released in the U.S. on February 12, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Razorbill, the print edition is 432 pages.

THE INDIGO SPELL is the third book in Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines series. The fourth book in the series, THE FIERY HEART, is slated for release later this year.

The wait is finally over and THE INDIGO SPELL is out… almost. And I’m so glad it will be downloading to my Kindle this week. While I am just a little bit behind on this series – I’ve only read about 100 pages of THE GOLDEN LILY – I’m anxious to get caught up.

Especially after I read the first few lines in this book’s description before I shut my eyes and closed the page. Because now I am seriously desperate to find out just what “forbidden moment” there was that “rocked Sydney to her core.”

I’m really, really hoping that it involves a certain immortal being. But I suppose I’ll have to finish reading TGL to find out. Which I plan on doing this month… maybe next week.

Because, even though there are quite a few books still left in this series, I miss Richelle Mead’s world and characters. I miss getting those tiny peeks at just what’s going on with Rose and Dimitri. And I really, really miss Adrian.

As I refuse to read any more of this book’s description I’ll have to wait until I finish THE GOLDEN LILY to know just what might be happening in THE INDIGO SPELL. But I have a feeling that the wait won’t be too much longer.

The Gathering Dark

THE GATHERING DARK by Christine Johnson will be released in the U.S. on February 12, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Simon Pulse, the print edition is 512 pages.

The first thing that grabbed me was the title for THE GATHERING DARK. It immediately drew me in for a closer look. And while I would have most likely pre-ordered it just because it’s penned by author Christine Johnson, there is no doubt I would have purchased it after reading the description.

I am just dying to find out what Walker is. I want to know just why Keira’s visions intensify when she confides in him. And I want to know exactly what her “visions” are if they’re not actually visions.

I love stories where there is an “electric connection” and I cannot wait to read about the connection between Keira and Walker and what it means for the characters.

I am hopeful of reading THE GATHERING DARK early next month because I am totally intrigued by this book and have been for many, many months.

The Lives We Lost

THE LIVES WE LOST by Megan Crewe will be released in the U.S. on February 12, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and in hardcover format at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Hyperion Books for Children, the print edition is 288 pages.

THE LIVES WE LOST is the second book in author Megan Crewe’s Fallen World series.

Line_001

I have yet to read the first book in the Fallen World series but just had to pre-order THE LIVES WE LOST. This series just sounds so amazing and I cannot wait to read both books back-to-back.

THE WAY WE FALL sounds chilling but also hopeful. And this sequel – yes I took a peek – sounds even more epic than the first. In this world decimated by this virus, I am already rooting for Kaelyn to find a way to replicate the vaccine and to save the remainder of the human race.

The description promises this sequel is “action-packed” and talks of sacrifice and lost love. And I cannot wait to get lost in this world later this month. THE WAY WE FALL and THE LIVES WE LOST sound like the perfect way to spend a day… all the while being very, very glad that Kaelyn’s reality is not mine.

Pivot Point

PIVOT POINT by Kasie West will be released in the U.S. on February 12, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 352 pages.

PIVOT POINT is the first book in a new series of the same name by author Kasie West. The second book, as yet untitled, is slated for release in February 2014.

I have heard nothing but amazing things about PIVOT POINT. I’ve had this book pre-ordered forever. And while I’d hoped to get the chance to read it early, I’m really glad it’s downloading this week. Because I WILL sneak in a read before the week is over.

As I’ve already talked about PIVOT POINT endlessly – both for my Book Watch post and for the Blog Tour I was on last week – I won’t say much more. Other than I cannot wait until this downloads and I can finally meet Addison Coleman and see which version of the future she decides to make her reality.

I will be reading it this week, even though I didn’t add it to the pile, as I am already finished with one of the two books I had added. So, yeah, I will definitely be reading it before week’s end.

Dance of Shadows cover

DANCE OF SHADOWS by Yelena Black will be released in the U.S. on February 12, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Bloomsbury USA Children’s Books, the print edition is 384 pages.

DANCE OF SHADOWS is the first book in author Yelena Black’s Dance of Shadows trilogy.

I am so thrilled I got to read DANCE OF SHADOWS just a little bit early. It was a super quick and exciting read and I’m happy to add it to my collection this week. I’d pre-ordered it the moment I saw the gorgeous cover, even before I’d read it. And I’m so glad that I did.

As I read it and reviewed it I won’t say too much more. Because I already know what happens with Vanessa. I know what happens when she dances. I know the truth behind the disappearance of her sister. And I know who is trustworthy – Justin or Zep.

I am very curious where this series will lead next. While I’ve said before that I thought it would have been an awesome standalone, I very much enjoyed the author’s writing and cannot wait to see where she plans on taking this series and her characters.

But I suppose I’ll have to wait a year to find out just what happens next.

Breaking Point

BREAKING POINT by Kristen Simmons will be released in the U.S. on February 12, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Tor Teen, the print edition is 400 pages.

BREAKING POINT is the second book in author Kristen Simmons’ Article 5 series.

Line_001

I have not yet read ARTICLE 5 but now that BREAKING POINT is releasing this week I definitely plan on remedying that. I’ve had this sequel pre-ordered for months and months and I’m so excited that it’s finally releasing.

I did end up taking a peek at the description for this sequel, but only a very quick one as I don’t want to spoil just what happened in book one. But I just couldn’t help myself, because I really want to finally meet Ember and Chase and see just what life is like for them in this overly restrictive dystopian society.

The description calls this series “fast-paced” and “gripping” and I cannot wait to devour both books. Of course that means I’ll have to suffer the wait for the third book in the series, as I don’t think I’ll be able read slowly enough to make the gap between books disappear.

I hope to be able to read these books in March as I am very much in the mood for dystopia. And as I thought the trailer looked pretty awesome I just had to include it here….

Notes from Ghost Town

NOTES FROM GHOST TOWN by Kate Ellison

Pub. Date: February 12, 2013

Publisher: EgmontUSA

(AMAZONBARNES & NOBLE)

02

I have way too many books pre-ordered. Seven. At least I think it’s seven. As it’s nearly impossible to tell since Amazon changed the way you can look up your open digital orders. But I am pretty sure I also have NOTES FROM GHOST TOWN pre-ordered after I discovered it the other week on NetGalley. So… eight.

I am trying so hard not to buy sequels until I’ve read the first book in the series – which is why ARCADIA BURNS and OVERRIDE are only books of note for the moment. But I’m so very tempted to purchase both books on release date. I hate not having a completed series in my collection.

Though I caved when it came to SEVER, THE INDIGO SPELL, THE LIVES WE LOST and BREAKING POINT, because I just know I’ll be reading those books in the next month or two at the very latest.

The longer I keep blogging the closer my eBook collection gets to the 1500 books mark. In fact, I might be at… or over… that mark. But I’ve been too scared to look too closely. Especially since I know – given the number of books I’ve read in 2011 and 2012 – that I am not anywhere near that number of books actually read.

I don’t want to go on a book buying ban, but I seriously have to try and be more selective of the books I do purchase. I just don’t think I can. Because there are so many amazing books releasing each week. And I hate not having the option to read them whenever I feel like it.

Anyway… I hope you are able to add one or two amazing books to your collection this week. I don’t think I missed any new titles. But if I did, please let me know!

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
