I am absolutely THRILLED to be kicking off this ten week tour for A.R. Kahler’s THE IMMORTAL CIRCUS! I have “stepped inside” and I can tell you it’s awesome.
While normally a fan of all things Winter Court, during this tour I will be the proud… and a little bit terrified… representative of the Summer Court along with Hannah of In the Best Worlds.
I hope my guest posts and reviews will entice you to cast your vote for Summer! You can do this by simply entering the giveaway on either my site or on Hannah’s and leaving a comment. At the end of the tour, the Court with the most comments will be the victor.
Feel free to also grab a Summer Court button in the sidebar to show your support.
Each Monday for the next ten weeks I’ll be sharing some amazing guest posts and character interviews, reviews and teasers about THE IMMORTAL CIRCUS and I hope you’ll stop by to check them out.
But for now, let me turn my blog over to the author, Alex Kahler, who has so graciously provided an introduction to the tour and to the King of the Summer Court… one I was just a little too nervous to make on my own.
And so, without further ado….
Alex Kahler here for the first post in the ten week blog tour for THE IMMORTAL CIRCUS! Since this tour (and the book itself) strays from convention, we thought it would be smart to have a brief intro to explain things.
Here’s what you need to know:
Four blogs representing the Courts of Summer and Winter have been chosen to host this tour, and they will each feature different weekly content, from episode reviews to character interviews and artwork. The Summer Court will be represented by “Fiktshun” and “In the Best Worlds,” while Winter is represented by “The Bookish Brunette” and “The Non-Reluctant Reader.”
We’ll be running a contest for the duration of the tour. In the end, the Court with the most entries wins!
And of course, four lucky entrants will receive prize packs including a signed book, trading cards, and circus-y goodies. So pick a side, support your team, and test your luck!
To start things off, I’ve requested that Oberon, King of the Summer Court (and thus, sovereign of this blog), write a note to introduce himself and his cause to you. The response was, er…a bit off-putting, but I suppose that’s what happens when you ask a faerie to become involved in human affairs. Needless to say, he presents a fairly compelling case on why you should support the Summer Court. I’d like to personally guarantee that reasons three and six are jokes, but…I don’t think Oberon knows what a joke is.
Tomorrow, you’ll hear Mab’s introduction over on “The Bookish Brunette.” Just don’t tell Oberon I sent you there.
He scares me.
In this and coming weeks, you face a choice. The Courts of Winter and Summer are once again at war, and it is up to you to decide who reigns victorious.
For the next ten weeks, four blogs—two representing Summer, and two poorly representing Winter—will be hosting a series of interviews, reviews, and giveaways.
At the end of the tour, the Court with the most entries will claim victory. It is my deepest hope that you will aid Summer in the fight.
I heard you mortals appreciate lists, so I have created one showcasing just a few of the reasons you should support this blog and its cohort, “In the Best Worlds.”
1. I am a much better dresser than Mab, who still believes lingerie is suitable business attire.
2. The Winter Court is renowned for being cold. And torturing mortals. The Summer Court is filled with wine and sunshine. Which would you rather visit on a holiday?
3. I know where you sleep. More importantly, my crew of satyrs and tooth fairies know where you sleep. Remember this when voting. It’s never too late to develop a cavity or get lost in the woods.
4. Team Puck. Support your favorite prankster.
5. We control 90% of the publishing industry. Supporting us is supporting literature. To support Mab would be to support lasciviousness and cheap thrills.
6. Seriously, we know where you sleep.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this introduction. I trust you will make the right decision and support the Summer Court.
We will always win the battle.
But with your help, we can win this war. And you will help us.
See point six.

About The Immortal Circus
Pub. date: Dec. 4, 2012
Format: Kindle eBook
Murdered contortionists aren’t exactly what Vivienne signed up for when she ran away to join the circus. But like most things under the big top, nothing is what it seems. With a past she can’t quite remember, Vivienne finds that running away forever might not be as appealing as it once sounded—especially not when she realizes the devilishly attractive ringleader Mab is the Faerie Queen of legend…and that she and the rest of the troupe are locked in an age-old rivalry between the otherworldly Courts.
Aided by her friends Kingston—a feisty stage magician whose magic is quickly stealing her heart—and his smart-ass assistant Melody, Vivienne finds herself racing against the clock to discover the culprit behind a series of deaths that should be impossible. However, the answer she seeks might reveal more about her own bloody past—and future—than she bargains for.
The show’s just beginning.
Step right up…
Most little boys dream of running away to join the circus.
Alex didn’t just dream it: he did it. But then, he rarely lets a good dream pass him by.
In the past six years he’s toured and trained across America and Europe. He’s performed in Amsterdam, taught trapeze in Madrid, studied in Glasgow and even had a stint as assistant to Holly Black and Cassandra Clare in New England. He’s constantly on the lookout for new places to explore and new worlds to invent. He’s a Sagittarius fueled by full moons and espresso. The way to his heart is a latte and fan art. Just for the record.
THE IMMORTAL CIRCUS is his first New Adult novel, and is being released exclusively through the Amazon Kindle e-Serials program by 47North. It will be available in print and audio when the episodes are complete.
MARTYR the first book in his post-apocalyptic fantasy, will be published by Spencer Hill Press in October 2014.
