Book Watch: Releasing This Week #101

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of December 4th-December 10th that I have pre-ordered.

THE ALMOST TRUTH by Eileen Cook was released in the U.S. on December 4, 2012 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Simon Pulse, the print edition is 256 pages.

I am so happy that THE ALMOST TRUTH released this week. I’d had this book on my radar for ages and it looks like so much fun. I pre-ordered it a month ago and was thrilled when it finally downloaded on my Kindle on Monday midnight.

I love that this story is about a girl with a less than stellar home life – a “delusional mom” and a “jailbird dad” – who decides to pull a con to get back her life savings. Savings that were stolen by her not-so-great mom.

I cannot imagine what kind of con she’ll have to pull in order to get back the money she lost. And I can’t imagine how, in the middle of it all, she manages fall for a boy who happens to be the “wrong boy.” Of course this con is doomed to backfire. But I can’t wait to see just how it all goes down.

This book sounds like it will a super quick read. And I just know that I’m going to have a lot of fun reading it and getting those answers for myself.

While I won’t be able to officially add it to the pile this month, I just may end up going off-pile to read it.

NEVER LET YOU GO by Emma Carlson Berne was released in the U.S. on December 4, 2012 in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Simon Pulse, the print edition is 256 pages.

NEVER LET YOU GO looks so freaking amazing. I already rambled about it endlessly in my Book Watch post. But I’m so super psyched that it now lives on my Kindle. Even though it does give me the chills.

I can’t wait to find out just how “horribly wrong” the love triangle goes in this story. I can’t imagine things will end anywhere in the neighborhood of “happily ever after.” And I’m excited to read a story that just might be a bit more grim than the books I typically read.

Two characters with chemistry and one who “doesn’t like to be ignored” does not sound like the best mix. And I can’t wait to see just what Anna does when Megan and Jordan make her feel left out.

I love that the description promises a “very dark turn” and I can’t wait to take that turn with the characters. I really hope to be able to do so in the next couple of weeks.

THE IMMORTAL CIRCUS by A.R Kahler was released in the U.S. on December 4, 2012 in serial Kindle eBook format only. It is currently available to pre-order online exclusively at Amazon.

The Kindle eBook is published by 47North.

When I first learned of THE IMMORTAL CIRUS I was so curious about it. I have read a few serial novels of the dark and morbid variety and I absolutely loved them. So I couldn’t wait to find out more about this book.

The description had me instantly intrigued. A circus led by Mab, the Faerie Queen of the Winter Court. Mysterious deaths. A main character with a “bloody past.” And an rivalry between the courts. What more could I want in a book? An invitation.

And the description offers just that. “The show’s just beginning. Step right up…”

The first episode downloaded on my Kindle and I’m just dying to dive right in. But knowing I’ll have to wait two weeks before the next episode downloads, I may read it closer to that release date so the wait won’t be so torturous. But I might just give in. I’m so very tempted.

RADIANT by Cynthia Hand was released in the U.S. on December 4, 2012 in eBook format only. It is currently available to pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The eBook is published by HarperTeen.

RADIANT is an eBook novella in author Cynthia Hand’s UNEARTHLY series. It is set between books two and three. The third and final book in the series, BOUNDLESS, is slated for release on January 22, 2013.

When I heard that there was going to be an eNovella in the UNEARTHLY series entitled RADIANT I was so excited. I love this series by the author and am so unbelievably sad that it’s ending.

It will be so interesting to read this story that takes place outside of Wyoming, in a totally different setting. But I can’t wait.

I love that it alternates between Clara and Angela’s perspectives. But of course what I’m really dying to find out is what secret Angela’s been keeping about this “mysterious guy” and just how this summer “changes their lives forever.”

I plan on reading this novella next week because there is no way I could wait any longer than that.

BREATHLESS by Sophie Jordan was released in the U.S. on December 4, 2012 in eBook format only. It is currently available to pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The eBook is published by HarperCollins.

BREATHLESS is a standalone eBook novella set in the author’s FIRELIGHT series.

Yes, I just had to buy BREATHLESS even though I haven’t yet read any of the books in the FIRELIGHT series. But I do own them all. So of course I had to pre-order this eNovella too.

And as it is a standalone, it will be the perfect introduction to the series. Even the description agrees.

I am totally curious to find out just what Az is and whether she’ll be able to keep her secret from Tate. The fact that this short story is a star-crossed love story totally has me desperate to read it.

For a moment I thought that I might wait until I read the series before picking up this novella, but I don’t think I can. Wait, that is. I think I want to read it right now.

WOLF PACT (Part Four) by Melissa de la Cruz was released in the U.S. on December 4, 2012 in eBook format only. It is currently available to pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The eBook is published by Disney Hyperion.

WOLF PACT Part 4 is the final of four installments from author Melissa de la Cruz’s WOLF PACT.

Yay! The final installment of WOLF PACT released this week. That means I can now read it in its entirety. Without waiting for each installment. I hate waiting.

I have been wanting to read Bliss’s story ever since I heard there would be one. And now I finally can. I’m just so curious to see what happens to her and Lawson over the course of this four-part novel.

I love that they’re able to travel back in time… though I’m really curious how they make that happen. And I can’t wait to see if they are able to “right the wrongs of their past.”

Hopefully I’ll be able to read this later this month. It has been ages since I’ve read a book by this author and I’m desperate to get back into her amazing stories.

This is an AWESOME week for releases. I keep fighting the urge to start reading more than one of the books I now have living on my Kindle. But I’m trying so very hard to stay on pile.

Though it’s not working too well. Since a book that’s officially releasing next week showed up on my Kindle on Tuesday… apparently. (I didn’t find out it was there until late last night.) So of course I had to start reading it.

Because it’s OPAL by Jennifer L. Armentrout. That’s right, a week early. And I just can’t resist. I can’t!

I really hope to read all the books that have released this week in the next month or two. But I think I may be overly hopeful. We shall see. I have so many books I’m just dying to read that I’ve had for a bit longer, and I think I owe it to those books to keep them closer to the top of the pile.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be just a few less releases in the next couple of weeks because I know January is packed full of new releases that I must own. And I’m trying really, really hard to curb my book buying.

But that, too, doesn’t seem to be working too well.

Anyway…

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
