Book Watch: Releasing This Week #86

Below are the YA books coming out this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of August 21st-August 27th that I have pre-ordered.

Heaven by Alexandra Adornetto will be released in the U.S. on August 21, 2012 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Feiwel & Friends, the print edition is 432 pages.

Heaven is the third and final book in Alexandra Adornetto’s Halo series.

I own the first two books in the series so of course I had to pre-order Heaven, the final one, to complete the collection. But I haven’t yet had a chance to read any of them. So I will not be taking a look at the Goodreads description for this final book like I did for book two.

I discovered this series before I started blogging when desperately looking for books about angels. I wish-listed Halo as it sounded so amazing, but there was a long wait until release date. So when it finally was released, I was caught up in stories of demons and dark magic and did not get Halo moved to the top of the pile.

And then I started blogging.

I love that these stories were written by such a young writer. And I love that the stories are about good and evil. I can’t wait to meet Gabriel, Ivy and Bethany and I hope their stories end well and that all of them have made it into this final book in the series.

At least, with all three books available to read back-to-back-to-back I won’t have to wait anxiously for each installment. While I won’t be able to read them this fall, I think these will make the perfect reads this winter and I can’t wait.

The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore will be released in the U.S. on August 21, 2012 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-0rder online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by HarperCollins, the print edition is 416 pages.

The Rise of Nine is the third full-length book in the Lorien Legacies series by the author.

I am super excited to finally get the chance to dive back into this series. I’d read the first book in the series last year just prior to the release of The Power of Six, but I hadn’t had a chance to read that second book at the time. Both books are in my eBook collection, and now, thanks to the publisher, I have them in print, as well.

Because I’m already hooked on this series I had to pre-order this third full-length book, The Rise of Nine. I can’t wait to read this latest installment and its predecessor to find out just what has been going on with the escapees fight against those who are after them.

I did take a peek at the description a little while back, but now that I will be reading it shortly I don’t want to accidentally risk reading any spoilers. But I am excited to get back into the world and find out if they’ve all survived.

While my Kindle pre-order will be downloading on Tuesday, I’ll likely read the ARC I received from the publisher when I jump back into the series next week.

Over You by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus will be released in the U.S. on August 21, 2012 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available online to pre-order in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 288 pages.

I just talked about this book yesterday as it’s on My Reading Pile this week so I won’t say too much more here. But I’m, so, so excited to read it. Which I will be doing tonight as I have the ARC. But, my pre-order eBook will be downloading on Monday night so I may switch to that if I haven’t finished devouring this book by then.

As I said before, I love these authors’ books and writing. They collaborate so incredibly well I would never have imagined there were two voices that contributed to the stories. Their ability to tell a story is effortless and I cannot wait to get caught up in this latest release.

And I’m super glad that I don’t have to wait until tomorrow to do so!

Two or Three Things I Forgot to Tell You by Joyce Carol Oates

Pub. Date: August 21, 2012

Published by: HarperTeen

(Amazon, Barnes & Noble)

I am so glad it’s another quiet release week. Though this is the quiet before the storm. Because next week and the week after that are so incredibly filled with the new releases I have on order that they take up almost two pages of my list of pre-order eBook downloads at Amazon.

I plan on having two of these three books read before the first of September and so there is just the one book getting added to my longer-term TBR shelf. So that’s somewhat of a relief, as I will be drowning in new release titles on both August 28th and September 4th with no real hope of catching up any time soon!

I hope you found some exciting, delectable, enchanting, bewitching, action-packed, torturous, dreamy or nail-biting books to add to your collection this week. And…

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
