Book Watch: Releasing This Week #52

Below are the YA books coming out this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of December 27th-January 2nd that I have pre-ordered.

Never to Sleep by Rachel Vincent will be released in the U.S. in eBook format only on January 1, 2012. It is currently available to pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The novella is published by Harlequin TEEN.

Never to Sleep is an eBook novella in the Soul Screamers series by author Rachel Vincent.

I am so excited that Never to Sleep will be out in less than a week. You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to discuss this novella with everyone. Keeping what I know secret has been killing me. I want to talk about its awesomeness and I can’t wait for everyone to finally read it.

While I was fortunate to get a chance to read it this past October, I wasn’t able to reveal the title, who the main character was, or anything about the plot. But I did manage to tease it (HERE). And I’m so curious to see if everyone is able to connect what I was teasing with what actually happens in NtS.

I have this novella pre-ordered for both my Kindle and my Nook and I can’t wait to see it download with its lovely cover on January 1.

Magic of the Moonlight by Ellen Schreiber was released in the U.S. today, December 27, 2011, in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Katherine Tegen Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, the print edition is 240 pages.

Magic of the Moonlight is the second book in the Full Moon series by the author.

I pre-ordered this book awhile ago and almost forgot it was downloading today. I had a chance to read the first book in the series courtesy of NetGalley last year and while I loved the author’s Vampire Kisses series a bit more, I still wanted to see what was up next for Celeste and Brandon.

According to the description, Celeste is looking for a cure for Brandon while trying to keep their relationship secret. Which is no easy task. And there is a ball that she wants to attend with him, but to do so would reveal their secret relationship and possibly reveal just what he is to everyone.

I’m curious to see just what Celeste will decide and what the results will be from the choices she makes. The first book in the series was a quick, fun and cute read and this one sounds even more so.

Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes was released in the U.S. today, December 27, 2011, in hardcover and eBook formats.

It is currently available to order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by EgmontUSA, the print edition is 336 pages.

Wow, release date seems to have come up quickly for Every Other Day. I pre-ordered it the day I discovered it and although I have the eARC from NetGalley, I was not able to read it before release day.

I won’t ramble too much as I spotlighted it earlier in the month for my Book Watch post. But this book by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is one I definitely can’t wait to read.

I want to meet Kali, see her in action as she hunts down demons, zombies and hellhounds, and find out if she discovers just why she is the way she is every other day. This sounds like a story that will be action-packed, and with only twenty-four hours to save a girl who is marked for death, I just bet it will be tension-filled with that edge-of-your-seat level of excitement.

Darkness Falls by Cate Tiernan was released in the U.S. today, December 27, 2011, in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Poppy, the print edition is 400 pages.

Darkness Falls is the second book in the Immortal Beloved series by author Cate Tiernan.

I still haven’t read the first book in this series, but as I already own it, I pre-ordered Darkness Falls. I love these new covers and I just wish my eBook of the first book in the series had the new cover instead of the old one.

As I don’t want to do more than glance at the description on Goodreads, in case it is highly spoiler-y, I’m not sure exactly what will be happening in Darkness Falls. But I do know that it continues Nastasya’s story and that it is the second book in a planned trilogy.

According to the description for Immortal Beloved, the first book in the trilogy, it is “an engaging story of a timeless struggle and inescapable romance….” I can’t imagine that the sequel will stray too far from this idea, which of course has me even more excited to start reading both books.

I love stories about immortals and I can’t wait to meet Nastasya and this “undeniably sexy” Reyn and I already hope that both characters, and not just Nastasya make it through to book two.

Shattered: The Amanda Project by Laurie Faria Stolarz and Amanda Valentino

Pub. Date: December 27, 2011

(Amazon, Barnes & Noble)

On a Dark Wing by Jordan Dane

Pub. Date: December 27, 2011

(Amazon, Barnes & Noble)

I included On a Dark Wing in my RTW post last week as the print edition was available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble on December 20. But as the official release date is today for the print edition and the eBook will be available on January 1, I thought I’d add it again here.

When I started creating this post, I thought I only had one book ordered for the week. But after checking my Amazon pre-orders I discovered there were three full-length books and one novella that would be downloading this week. This makes me so super thrilled that the year will end – and begin – with so many great books to read.

Apparently I have been doing this post for an entire year, which I had no idea about until today. I suppose I probably should have realized it when I prepared last week’s post and had to name it RTW #51, but I didn’t. I know that my regular Book Watch posts have been around since 2010, but I thought that this weekly feature was around for a shorter time, like MRP.

Anyway, I hope you have some amazing books ordered for the end of this year and the beginning of next. And if you know of any that aren’t on my list but should be, let me know. I’d hate to miss out on an amazing book.

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
