Awake at Dawn by C.C. Hunter will be released in the U.S. on October 11, 2011 in paperback and eBook formats.

Awake at Dawn is the second full-length book in the Shadow Falls series by author C.C. Hunter.

As I’ve spent quite a bit of time talking about Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday already, I thought I’d spotlight the other book releasing on October 11th that I’m really excited to read.

Awake at Dawn is the sequel to Born at Midnight which was released last March. But as I managed to get an early copy, it’s been a lot longer since I’ve visited Kylie Galen, Della Tsang and all the other supernatural beings at Shadow Falls Camp.

While cover love is what initially drew me to this series, it was the mystery, suspense, humor and mini cliffhangers at the end of each chapter that made this book unputdownable. Add in a love triangle and the fact that Shadow Falls Camp is home to a rather large array of supernatural beings, and you’ve got one heck of an exciting read.

From checking out the description, this sequel seems just as action-packed as the first book in the series. Maybe even more so. Ghosts, rogue vampires, a possible stalker and trouble in paradise for Kylie and Derek, make it seem that things won’t be working out quite so well for Kylie in this installment in the series.

And although the description hints that Kylie may not find the answers she’s been looking for, I’m hoping that at least some questions will be answered and that more will be revealed about her abilities.

While the description doesn’t mention them, I also hope that both Della and Miranda will have a larger part to play in this sequel. And I am ecstatic to see that Lucas will be back. I will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed that Kylie will choose him.

With a first book in this series that was completely captivating and left me with more questions than answers, I can’t wait for this sequel to finally be released so that I can head back to Shadow Falls Camp and unravel this latest mystery.

Awake at Dawn is definitely a book to watch and I’ll be counting down those days until its release.

The next book in the series, Taken at Dusk, is slated for release in April 2012.

Turned at Dark, a short story about Della, is still available as a free eBook download at Amazon and Barnes & Noble and can be read online at Macmillan.
