June 21st is another great date for releases, but I decided to spotlight Dead Rules because it sounds really, really different and completely creepy cool. And this is another book with an awesome tagline – “She loved her boyfriend to death.”
The first few times I saw this cover it kind of freaked me out. Those large, staring, doll-like eyes were slightly terrifying. I also assumed that they’re meant to be the eyes of a dead girl, which definitely added to the creep factor. Even now as I write this, I can’t seem to look away from that glassy gaze.
So, of course that makes me want to read this book all the more. And I’ve had this on pre-order for the Kindle for awhile, so I’m excited we’re getting closer to release date.
But it was not just the cover or tagline that drew me in. It was the description.
I desperately want to know what rules the dead have. Who knew they’d even have rules? What kind of mind might make up rules for the dead? This is an author I definitely need to read.
If two people who are destined to be together are separated by death, I can’t imagine what kind of reunion they’ll have. And where?
And as if that wasn’t intriguing enough, it seems that there might just be a bit of a love triangle between Jana, Michael and Mars.
This could be either really dark and eerie and tragic or darkly humorous and a lot of wicked fun. Perhaps it’s a little bit of everything. And I cannot wait until it is released on the 21st.
Jana Webster and Michael Haynes were in love. They were destined to be together forever.
But Jana’s destiny was fatally flawed. And now she’s in Dead School, where Mars Dreamcote lurks in the back of the classroom, with his beguiling blue eyes, mysterious smile, and irresistibly warm touch.
Michael and Jana were incomplete without each other. There was no room for Mars in Jana’s life—or death—story. Jana was sure Michael would rush to her side soon.
But things aren’t going according to Jana’s plan. So Jana decides to do whatever it takes to make her dreams come true—no matter what rules she has to break.
