Below are the YA books coming out this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

I absolutely love this cover for Rapture and I’m sad to see the series end, though I still need to read Passion. But my eBook copy downloads this week and I’d really love to read it this month. So I am kind of desperate to get caught up, though I think I want to re-read the first two books in the series before reading the final two.
I don’t know what happened to Luce and Daniel in Passion but I’m dying to find out how things end in Rapture. And I’m super curious what role Cam plays in this final book in the series.
I did sneak a peek at the description and it does make me nervous. Really, really nervous. The idea that they’re being pursued by dark forces, the threat of Daniel and Luce being torn apart again and the fact that there are “great sacrifices” and that “hearts are destroyed” is utterly tormenting.
But what’s most nerve-wracking is that Luce and Daniel may not be meant to be and I’m wondering if she’s truly meant to be with Cam. I can’t wait to find out, but I know that no matter how it ends, I think I’ll be the one with a broken heart.

I just recently read Bloodlines after much fear of starting this series in the same world as Vampire Academy. But I fell in love and was dying to get my hands on The Golden Lily. I’m reading it right now, but I can’t wait for the eBook to download on Tuesday so that I can have it in my permanent collection.
I am super curious to see where this second book in the series leads. Especially when it comes to a certain Alchemist and a certain Moroi. As always I’m worried about the Strigoi and Jill’s safety. But I’m also excited to read about the character from the Vampire Academy series that is in this book.
And no, I won’t say who it is….
I’ve heard this book is even more amazing than the first and I hope to finish tonight so I can begin the long wait for book three.
Timepiece by Myra McEntire will be released in the U.S. on June 12, 2012 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available online to pre-order in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Timepiece is the second book in the Hourglass series by author Myra McEntire. The third book in the series, Infinityglass, is slated for release in 2013.

I still haven’t read Hourglass but I plan on reading both books now that Timepiece is releasing. I heard how amazing the first book was during last year’s Crush Tourney and have felt like I was totally missing out ever since. So, I’m super glad I book two is out so I can finally find out for myself just how awesome this series is.
I am not going to peek at the description for fear of spoilers, but I can’t wait to meet Emerson, Michael and Kaleb. Though I’m most curious about Michael from having read Hourglass’s description. I love “dark” and “mysterious” characters and ones that create an electrical charge whenever they’re around makes them sound even more interesting.
But I also can’t wait to meet Emerson, to find out just what’s going on with her visions and to find out more about the organization called Hourglass. I hope to read both books this summer so I can suffer the wait along with all the other fans for book three’s release next year.

I love the sound of this book. I can’t remember where I first learned of Lies Beneath, but after I checked out the description I just had to pre-order it. I think it was the “murderous mermaids” that pulled me in.
I can’t wait to see what Calder White is like and to meet his vicious family who kill humans to take their energy. The description makes them sound very evil and yet Calder manages to fall in love with Lily. To say that this sounds like an ill-fated love story is an understatement.
I can’t imagine what will happen when Lily finds out the truth. But it doesn’t sound like things will end happily, especially with the second book in the series entitled Deep Betrayal.
I haven’t read any mermaid stories where the mermaids were predators, but I can’t wait to check this book out this summer. It definitely sounds like a book I will thoroughly enjoy.

I haven’t yet read anything by author Diana Peterfreund though I own two books in the author’s Killer Unicorns series. But I wanted to check out this new book by the author as I kind of fell in love with the title, For Darkness Shows the Stars.
I had an early copy but haven’t yet had a chance to read it, so I will be reading the eBook version that will be downloading to my Kindle this week. But I’m very curious to see how the author was inspired by Jane Austen’s book Persuasion.
While I am not a huge fan of books with a science fiction bent, I love that this story is deemed a “breathtaking romance.” Because I do love a love story. And I can’t wait to meet Elliot and Kai and find out just what secret he’s been keeping and whether Elliot will choose duty this time around or follow her heart.
And if she does, I really hope that things end happily and she doesn’t end up heartbroken. I am super excited to find those answers for myself this summer.

I first heard about Tokyo Heist when I was offered a copy through a trade. And when I didn’t get a chance to read it early, I decided to pre-order it for my Kindle because it seems really interesting and different and exciting.
It sounds like an adventure and a mystery and I love the fact that it’s set mainly in Japan. I can’t wait to see whether Violet manages to track down the van Gogh art thieves and just what dangers she’ll encounter in trying to solve the crime.
I’m curious to find out why Violet and her father’s lives are on the line and exactly what will happen if she doesn’t recover the stolen art. I hope she finds someone she can trust to help her out, as the “yakuza-invested streets of Tokyo” do not sound at all safe for a sixteen-year-old girl from Seattle.
I really hope to sneak this one in next month, because I’m definitely in the mood for something a little bit different and this fits the bill perfectly.

It’s another one of those so many books, so little time weeks. I have eight books pre-ordered. The six young adult books I mentioned above and the two non-YA books I have listed in the “Other Books of Note” section. And I’ll have only read one or two of them by release date.
I really want to catch up on the Fallen series books because I fell in love with the first book in that series and really want to see how things end for Luce, Cam and Daniel. And I’m dying to read Myra McEntire’s Hourglass series because I feel like I’m the only one in the world who hasn’t.
I’m sure I missed a ton of great books this week, but after seeing I had eight books pre-ordered, I decided it would be best not to look for any releases I might have missed. Though if I see a few reviews come in for books releasing this week that look awesome I may just have to add a few more books to the TBR pile.
