I Have a COMPULSION for Magic Blog Tour: Kami Garcia and Kimberly Derting Guest Post + Giveaway

Compulsion_MMBT

I am so excited to be participating in the I Have a COMPULSION for Magic Blog Tour hosted by Mundie Moms Blog Tours.

I cannot wait for COMPULSION to be released later this month so that I can meet Barrie and Eight. And although Andye of Reading Teen claims Eight for herself, I’m not giving up any claim. Not without having had the chance to meet him.

This tour kicked off yesterday and continues all the way up to COMPULSION’s release on the 28th. So be sure to follow along – the schedule can be found at the bottom of this post or on its very own tour page, which you can find by clicking the banner (or the link) above.

This tour is filled with all sorts of awesome excerpts from COMPULSION, guest posts from a number of amazing authors, and a super fab giveaway – none of which you’ll want to miss.

Especially my post today which follows below…

The Guest Author Feature

We’re kicking off something special on the Compulsion for Magic tour with a guest-author feature! On different stops of the tour, we’re going to ask authors to weigh in and talk about what kinds of Compulsion-style magical gifts they (or their characters) would like to have and definitely wouldn’t want to have.

Simon Pulse, the publisher of Compulsion has suggested the book is a little like Beautiful Creatures meets The Body Finder, by which they mean it’s like an atmospheric Southern Gothic romance with paranormal elements meets a mystery solved by a main character with an ability to find lost things.

Since Kimberly Derting, author of The Body Finder series, The Pledge novels, and The Taking, had nice things to say after reading Compulsion, we asked her to share some thoughts.

But first . . .

We want to hear from you!

For a chance to win the HUGE tour mega prize of books and the $100 gift card, tell us about the magical gift you’d like to have, but remember—as it is on Compulsion’s Watson Island—magic is often a curse as well as a gift. Don’t forget to think about what it would really be like!

Want to get a head start on your answer?

We also asked Kami Garcia, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Beautiful Creatures novels, Unbreakable and Unmarked in The Legion series, and the new Dangerous Creatures series, what kind of magical gift she would like to have.

Here’s Kami’s answer…

“I would love to be able to bend metal like Magneto. Imagine the possibilities… Secretly, I just want to be Magneto.”

And here’s what Kimberly Derting had to say…

If you could have any “everyday” magical gift, like finding lost things or knowing what people want, what gift would you want and why?

I like the finding-lost-things one, mostly since I come from a family of people who lose everything! But I think if I could have any power, other than a Midas turn-everything-into-chocolate touch, it would definitely be to know where my kids are at all times. And I’m not talking about the “Where’s my iPhone” stalker-mom magical app (although I do love that!). Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to know what they’re always doing, since two of my kids are 21 and 27, but I love the idea of looking into my crystal ball and knowing that they’re safe.

On the other hand, maybe the Midas-chocolate thing after all! ☺

What everyday magic would your characters wish they had and why?

I can sort of imagine Violet (from THE BODY FINDER) wishing she could turn off the whole finding dead bodies thing, and instead picking something fun like walking through walls, flying, or being invisible. All of those are way less disturbing than being drawn to the dead.

Eight, Barrie’s love interest in Compulsion, has inherited his family’s gift of knowing what people want and feeling compelled to give it to them. What’s one gift you’re glad you don’t have? Or your characters would be glad they didn’t have?

I think at one point or another everyone sort of wishes they could read minds. That is, until you really think about all the weird/creepy/probably even insulting things you’d be overhearing inside other people’s heads. I’m not sure I want to know every teeny-tiny thing my husband, my kids, or even my neighbors think about me. Or anyone else for that matter.

Barrie is tied to her family’s plantation, Watson’s Landing, in a magical way, and the whole landscape becomes magical for her. What’s the one place in your book that you wish you could bring to life?

My place would be the ice castle in THE ESSENCE, book #2 in The Pledge trilogy. It’s this old fortress built into an island covered almost entirely in ice and snow, and for some reason (which is strange, since I’m always freezing!), it’s the one place in my novels I’d like to see in real life. (I guess I need to write some books that are set in the Bahamas!)

If you were going to a Halloween party and you had to dress as a character from a Southern Gothic or a Gothic romance, what would your costume look like?

I would go full Scarlett O’Hara, but only because I’ve always wanted to wear a hoop skirt 😉

* * *

You have to love Kimberley! A Midas touch for chocolate? Count me in!

Now your turn!  Tell us about your magic.

And/Or . . .

Bonus option

If you’ve already done that elsewhere on the tour or just want to do something different for extra entry points, show us your magical or Southern gothic costume! How would you do Scarlet O’Hara? Or would you do Lily from The Raven Boys? Violet from Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea? Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca? Or how would you show an “everyday magic” as a Halloween costume?

Post a comment with the URL to your photo and we’ll share it. Use tag #CompulsionMagic.

Formats: Hardcover, eBook
ISBN: 1481411225

Description

Three plantations. Two wishes. One ancient curse.

All her life, Barrie Watson has been a virtual prisoner in the house where she lives with her shut-in mother. When her mother dies, Barrie promises to put some mileage on her stiletto heels. But she finds a new kind of prison at her aunt’s South Carolina plantation instead–a prison guarded by an ancient spirit who long ago cursed one of the three founding families of Watson Island and gave the others magical gifts that became compulsions.

Stuck with the ghosts of a generations-old feud and hunted by forces she cannot see, Barrie must find a way to break free of the family legacy. With the help of sun-kissed Eight Beaufort, who knows what Barrie wants before she knows herself, the last Watson heir starts to unravel her family’s twisted secrets. What she finds is dangerous: a love she never expected, a river that turns to fire at midnight, a gorgeous cousin who isn’t what she seems, and very real enemies who want both Eight and Barrie dead.

SWEET RECKONING by Wendy Higgins releases in the U.S. today, April 29, 2014 in paperback, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 400 pages.

SWEET RECKONING is the third and final book in Author Wendy Higgins’ Sweet Trilogy.

I am so excited that today is SWEET RECKONING‘s release date and that everyone will get the chance to read this final installment in the series. I love this series and was so sad to say goodbye to it when I read this book a few months ago. But I am happy that the finished copy arrives today in both print and eBook formats.

I know exactly how this story ends, so I can’t speculate about what happens in this book. But it has swoon-y romance, with all sorts of Kaidan Rowe yumminess, action and an exciting build to the finish.

I love that the description uses the term “sensual” to describe this book, though I might have used the word “sexy” instead. Because this book is definitely sexy and a totally delectable read.

As I have read SWEET RECKONING, I won’t be adding it to the pile in the coming months. But I definitely plan on doing a series re-read, as I’d love to be able to read it in its entirety all at once.

Description…

It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

Sleep No More

SLEEP NO MORE by Aprilynne Pike releases in the U.S. today, April 29, 2014, in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 352 pages.

divider2

I am so excited that SLEEP NO MORE releases today and that the finished copy (hopefully) has downloaded to my Kindle. While I had an early copy, I wasn’t able to read it pre-release, but I can’t wait to read the finished version.

I am very much in the mood for a thriller, especially one the description promises is like Inception and Wake. And as I love Aprilynne Pike’s writing, imagination and creativity, I can’t wait to meet Charlotte and find out whether she’s willing to risk everything to catch a killer.

As I currently have a few books on the pile that I must read early this month, I might not get this on the pile until mid-May, but I definitely plan on adding it then.

Description…

The blockbuster film Inception meets Lisa McMann’s Wake trilogy in this dark paranormal thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Aprilynne Pike. This novel is also perfect for fans of Kelley Armstrong, Alyson Noel, and Kimberly Derting.

Charlotte Westing has a gift. She is an Oracle and has the ability to tell the future. But it doesn’t do her much good. Instead of using their miraculous power, modern-day Oracles are told to fight their visions—to refrain from interfering. And Charlotte knows the price of breaking the rules. She sees it every day in her wheelchair-bound mother and the absence of her father. But when a premonition of a classmate’s death is too strong for her to ignore, Charlotte is forced to make an impossible decision: continue following the rules or risk everything—even her sanity—to stop the serial killer who is stalking her town.

Tease_Cover

AddtoGoodreads

TEASE by Amanda Maciel releases in the U.S. today, April 29, 2014, in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Balzer + Bray, the print edition is 336 pages.

divider2

TEASE was an unexpected read, but one I absolutely loved and I’m so excited that the finished eBook will be added to my collection today. I got the chance to read it early, and then did because I was invited to be on the tour. And I’m so glad I did, because it’s a story not to be missed.

It’s not a typical bullying story where “good” and “evil” are clearly defined traits. It’s not a story where you completely love or hate the major players. And it’s not told from the POV of the character being bullied.

The writing is fantastic, the story is captivating and it really makes you think. I think it’s an important story, one that allows you to see beyond hatred or sympathy, and see that not everything is so cut and dry, but that the choices we make have consequences, whether we are the victim or the bully.

As I just recently read TEASE I’m not adding it to the pile just now, but it will definitely be a story I’ll re-read again someday.

Description…

From debut author Amanda Maciel comes a provocative and unforgettable novel, inspired by real-life incidents, about a teenage girl who faces criminal charges for bullying after a classmate commits suicide.

Emma Putnam is dead, and it’s all Sara Wharton’s fault. At least, that’s what everyone seems to think. Sara, along with her best friend and three other classmates, has been criminally charged for the bullying and harassment that led to Emma’s shocking suicide. Now Sara is the one who’s ostracized, already guilty according to her peers, the community, and the media. In the summer before her senior year, in between meetings with lawyers and a court-recommended therapist, Sara is forced to reflect on the events that brought her to this moment—and ultimately consider her own role in an undeniable tragedy. And she’ll have to find a way to move forward, even when it feels like her own life is over.

With its powerful narrative, unconventional point of view, and strong anti-bullying theme, this coming-of-age story offers smart, insightful, and nuanced views on high school society, toxic friendships, and family relationships.

The Taking

THE TAKING by Kimberly Derting releases in the U.S. today, April 29, 2014, in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 368 pages.

THE TAKING is the first book in Author Kimberly Derting’s series of the same name. The second and third books in the series are currently untitled.

divider2

I have had THE TAKING pre-ordered forever and I’m excited for its release today. While I hadn’t had the chance to finish reading it before its release, I will be picking it back up in the next couple of weeks, so I can find out exactly what happened to Kyra. Though I’ll probably switch to the finished version when I do.

The concept for this story is what drew me in. The idea that someone can go missing for years, with no memory of what happened, totally freaks me out. The fact that everything changed, except for Kyra, and that everyone moved on with their lives, is a situation I don’t think I’d ever be able to wrap my head around if I were her.

As I’m one-third of the way through, I know a little bit about what Kyra’s life is like now, but I still have no clue what happened, where she was, and where this story leads. So I am super curious to find out and plan on doing so next week or the week thereafter at the latest as I don’t want to accidentally stumble upon any spoilers.

Description…

A flash of white light . . . and then . . . nothing.

When sixteen-year-old Kyra Agnew wakes up behind a Dumpster at the Gas ’n’ Sip, she has no memory of how she got there. With a terrible headache and a major case of déjà vu, she heads home only to discover that five years have passed . . . yet she hasn’t aged a day.

Everything else about Kyra’s old life is different. Her parents are divorced, her boyfriend, Austin, is in college and dating her best friend, and her dad has changed from an uptight neat-freak to a drunken conspiracy theorist who blames her five-year disappearance on little green men.

Confused and lost, Kyra isn’t sure how to move forward unless she uncovers the truth. With Austin gone, she turns to Tyler, Austin’s annoying kid brother, who is now seventeen and who she has a sudden undeniable attraction to. As Tyler and Kyra retrace her steps from the fateful night of her disappearance, they discover strange phenomena that no one can explain, and they begin to wonder if Kyra’s father is not as crazy as he seems. There are others like her who have been taken . . . and returned. Kyra races to find an explanation and reclaim the life she once had, but what if the life she wants back is not her own?

Summer knows that falling for the lead singer of her latest band is the least professional thing a manager can do. But Caleb Daniels isn’t an ordinary band boy—he’s a hot, dreamy, sweet-singing, exiled-from-his-old-band, possibly-with-a-deep-dark-side band boy. And he can do that thing. That thing when someone sings a song and it inhabits you, possesses you, and moves you like a marionette to its will.

Summer also finds herself at the center of a mystery she never saw coming. When Caleb reveals a secret about his long-lost father, one band’s past becomes another’s present, and Summer finds it harder and harder to be both band manager and girlfriend. She knows what the well-mannered Catherine side of her would do, but she also knows what her heart is telling her. Maybe it’s time to accept who she really is, even if it means becoming an exile herself. . . .

It’s a fantastic week for releases this week, yet I clearly fell behind on pre-orders, otherwise I would have already purchased THE TREATMENT and IN THE SHADOWS, something I plan on doing the moment I finish writing up this post.

I am so excited for the release of SWEET RECKONING, which was a bittersweet read for me as I didn’t want to have to say goodbye to Anna and Kai. But I can’t wait to see what the author has in the pipeline.

I am also tempted to purchase SCAN, which is not my normal genre to read, but having read just a bit of the ARC, I think it’s a book I want to add to my collection.

I’m not sure if I missed any books this week or last. I haven’t had a moment to check last week’s downloads or this week’s. But hopefully I haven’t and that all the books I’ve listed above are it. Otherwise I may end up having a few more books I need to add to the collection. We shall see….

Anyway… if you haven’t yet read SWEET RECKONING, I hope saying goodbye isn’t too difficult. And if there are a few other books you’ve been pining for that are releasing this week, I’m glad the wait has finally ended.

Happy release week to some lovely books and I hope you have a very happy reading week.

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!

My Reading Pile #162

myreadingpile

I didn’t receive any physical books in the mail this week and I didn’t receive any eBooks either. So it was a really, really, really quiet week in books for me.

nobooks2

[Credit for mailbox sharing goes to The Story Siren]

While I didn’t receive any books in the mail this week, I’m somewhat glad. Because my Dad is visiting this week and I barely had time to read. So I’m falling way far behind on my TBR pile. And I’m glad to have this one week without any new adds.

And while I didn’t receive any books, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a ton to read. But as he’s still in town and I have a bunch of reviews to write I’ve decided to read just the one book this week. So…

Here are the books I have in my reading pile this week.

(April 20, 2014 – April 26, 2014)

The Taking

AddtoGoodreads

The only book I’m officially adding to the pile this week is THE TAKING by Kimberly Derting. I received a copy for review from the publisher, HarperTeen, via Edelweiss and I can’t wait to read it and am sad that I haven’t read it before now.

I fell in love with the story from its description. I can’t wait to meet Kyra and find out what happened during the five years she was missing and how it feels to be back in her life, the same age as she was before but with everything radically different.

I can’t wait to see whether her father was right. I can’t wait to learn more about the others who have been taken and returned. And I am so curious about what the description means when they ask “but what if the life she wants back is not her own?”

THE TAKING releases next week, and while it’s not so super early, I’m glad I don’t have to wait any longer to read it. Though waiting for the next two planned books in the series won’t be nearly as easy….

The Description…

Wishful Thinking Reads

My wishful thinking read this week is SLEEP NO MORE by Aprilynne Pike. I love the author’s writing and this story sounds so creepy and good – Oracles and serial killers make for some interesting-sounding reading. And while I have an early copy, and my pre-order copy will download on April 29th, I just can’t add it to the pile this week or next. But wow, do I wish I could.

divider1

Those Left Behind

I read and loved TEASE by Sophie Jordan, but as I didn’t have MY LAST KISS, a printed ARC, with me, I went off-pile and read ALL LINED UP by Cora Carmack instead – a book I also loved. But I will be reading MY LAST KISS the moment I finish reading THE TAKING later this week.

Once things start getting back on track later this week, I am hopeful of spending all my free time writing a few of those long-overdue reviews. Which is another reason why I’m so glad no new books got added to the pile.

But I’m very happy that I read the two New Adult novels I read this past week. Because I love, love, loved both of them. I just wish I had the sequels to both series in hand right now.

I still haven’t added all my reads to Goodreads or updated them on my 2014 Reads page. But the Goodreads widget does show me as being a few books ahead. Which thrills me to no end. Now if I could just finally tackle all those reviews…

NetGalley Pile Adds & Finds

I didn’t spend any time on NetGalley this past week. Even looking for the purpose of this post, I only grabbed the names and links to the new titles and ran. But it seems to me things were a bit quiet on NetGalley, so I’m not sure I missed much not being “around.”

Here are this week’s finds…

LANDLINE by Rainbow Rowell (Orbit Publishing Group, Jul 3 2014) **UK Reviewers Preferred**

THE HANGMAN’S REVOLUTION (Warp #2) by Eoin Colfer (Penguin Books UK, Jun 26 2014) **UK Reviewers Preferred**

KING DORK APPROXIMATELY by Frank Portman (Random House Children’s, Dec 9 2014)

I still need to study for my exam, write a review for a tour post on Tuesday, write several reviews for more recent reads, and try to get caught up on my regular blog posts. But as my Dad is still in town, it will all have to wait until he leaves.

In the meantime, I’m trying to sneak in a few moments each day to fall in love with a book. And so far it’s working.

Anyway… I’m keeping this post brief as I am totally exhausted and I have to be up in a few short hours to take Dad sailing and hopefully not make a total fool out of myself. But we shall see how that works out.

As ever, I wish you a very happy reading week ahead!

Book Watch: Releasing This Week #157

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of December 31st-January 6th that I have pre-ordered.

Afterparty

addtogoodreads

AFTERPARTY by Ann Redisch Stampler will be released in the U.S. on December 31, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Simon Pulse, the print edition is 416 pages.

Dots_Divider

I am so excited for the release of AFTERPARTY this week. I got the chance to read it just a bit early and I loved it and can’t wait for my pre-order copy to download on Monday Midnight.

Ann Redisch Stampler is an amazing writer. I loved the way this story was written, I was instantly drawn in by the author’s voice. A couple of the characters drove me crazy – Siobhan and Chelsea. I think I was rooting for Emma to do something wicked to them both. Most of the characters I loved – Emma and Dylan and Megan and Arif. And I was totally surprised by one character.

While it may be a familiar story with complicated relationships, mean girls, wild parties and complex and moody boys, the writing made this story stand out to me. And I am really looking forward to re-reading it in its finished form really, really soon. This is one book I’m definitely thrilled to add to my collection.

Description…

Emma is tired of being good. Always the dutiful daughter to an overprotective father, she is the antithesis of her mother — whose name her dad won’t even say out loud. That’s why meeting Siobhan is the best thing that ever happened to her…and the most dangerous. Because Siobhan is fun and alluring and experienced and lives on the edge. In other words, she’s everything Emma is not.

And it may be more than Emma can handle.

Because as intoxicating as her secret life may be, when Emma begins to make her own decisions, Siobhan starts to unravel. It’s more than just Dylan, the boy who comes between them. Their high-stakes pacts are spinning out of control. Elaborate lies become second nature. Loyalties and boundaries are blurred. And it all comes to a head at the infamous Afterparty, where debauchery rages and an intense, inescapable confrontation ends in a plummet from the rooftop…

This explosive, sexy, and harrowing follow-up to Ann Redisch Stampler’s spectacular teen debut, Where It Began, reveals how those who know us best can hurt us most.

The Promise of Amazing

addtogoodreads

THE PROMISE OF AMAZING by Robin Constantine will be released in the U.S. on December 31, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Balzer + Bray, the print edition is 384 pages.

Dots_Divider

I can’t believe the year is ending and THE PROMISE OF AMAZING is releasing this week. I think I added this book to my pre-orders the instant I first learned about it this past spring or summer. And I’m totally stoked that the wait is finally almost over.

As I have THE PROMISE OF AMAZING on my reading pile this week and I recently spotlighted it for my Book Watch post, I really don’t want to ramble on and on yet again about just why I am so excited for it to be added to my collection. Especially since I just started reading it and so far I am loving it and want to be reading it instead of writing about it in this post.

If all goes well I am hopeful I’ll be able to finish reading it tonight, but at the very latest I’ll be marking it read before it downloads on Tuesday. And I’m even more hopeful that it will be every bit as amazing as I have been anticipating.

Description…

Wren Caswell is average. Ranked in the middle of her class at Sacred Heart, she’s not popular, but not a social misfit. Wren is the quiet, “good” girl who’s always done what she’s supposed to—only now in her junior year, this passive strategy is backfiring. She wants to change, but doesn’t know how.

Grayson Barrett was the king of St. Gabe’s. Star of the lacrosse team, top of his class, on a fast track to a brilliant future—until he was expelled for being a “term paper pimp.” Now Gray is in a downward spiral and needs to change, but doesn’t know how.

One fateful night their paths cross when Wren, working at her family’s Arthurian-themed catering hall, performs the Heimlich on Gray as he chokes on a cocktail weenie, saving his life literally and figuratively. What follows is the complicated, awkward, hilarious, and tender tale of two teens shedding their pasts, figuring out who they are—and falling in love.

The Offering

addtogoodreads

THE OFFERING by Kimberly Derting will be released in the U.S. on December 31, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Margaret K. McElderry, the print edition is 304 pages.

THE OFFERING is the third and final book in Kimberly Derting’s The Pledge series.

Dots_Divider

I can’t believe that THE OFFERING releases on Tuesday and that it is the final book in the trilogy. When it downloads on Monday Midnight I will have the entire trilogy in my eBook collection, but won’t have started reading the series yet.

I have heard such amazing things about the first book in the series, but I’ve tried to stay away from any of the buzz about the series since then as I haven’t wanted to risk spoilers. So I don’t know anything beyond what I’ve heard about THE PLEDGE except that I know this author is a fantastic writer and I expect to be amazed by this series.

Since all three books in this dystopian series will be available for me to devour come Tuesday, I am really hoping that I’ll be able to read the entire trilogy this winter.

Description…

True love—and world war—is at stake in the conclusion to The Pledge trilogy, a dark and romantic blend of dystopia and fantasy.
Charlie, otherwise known as Queen Charlaina of Ludania, has become comfortable as a leader and a ruler. She’s done admirable work to restore Ludania’s broken communications systems with other Queendoms, and she’s mastered the art of ignoring Sabara, the evil former queen whose Essence is alive within Charlie. Or so she thinks.

When the negotiation of a peace agreement with the Queendom of Astonia goes awry, Charlie receives a brutal message that threatens Ludania, and it seems her only option is to sacrifice herself in exchange for Ludanian freedom.

But things aren’t always as they seem. Charlie is walking into a trap—one set by Sabara, who is determined to reclaim the Queendoms at any cost.

Other Releases

VAMPIRE ACADEMY: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion by Richelle Mead and Brandon T. Snider

Dots_Divider

I only have three books pre-ordered this week. At least I think that’s the case. It’s very possible that I have WARRIOR on order and/or a few eBook novellas that I didn’t notice were releasing when creating this post. But I guess I’ll find out if that’s true on Tuesday.

I know for a fact that next week is going to be insane, so I’m glad that this week is just a little bit quieter for releases. And I’m stoked that by December 31st I’ll have read two of the three books I have ordered. Which means there will be just the one book added to the TBR pile this week.

I don’t think I missed any new releases in last week’s post, but I haven’t had much time to check my Kindle for downloads since I had out-of-town visitors stopping by. But if for some reason I discover an awesome title on my Kindle that I wasn’t aware of that downloaded last week I’ll be sure to mention it in next week’s post.

Anyway… I hope you have a book or two on your must reads list that releases this week and I hope that you’re just as excited as I am that this week isn’t too crazy given next week’s release schedule.

And, in case I forget to mention it on Tuesday or Wednesday, I hope that your New Year’s Eve and Day are all sorts of awesome, that you reach your 2013 reading goals, and that you get a few hours to read some amazing books!
