The week of December 10th is another quiet week for releases but as soon as I saw that it was the week that Andrea Cremer’s SNAKEROOT was releasing I instantly knew which book I’d choose for this week’s Book Watch post.

I loved the Nightshade series, so much so that I refused to read the final book and say goodbye to the series. Now that it is continuing I will finally get to see how it ends.

Though it won’t really be an ending since there is this new book to follow. A book that, from the brief peek at the description I took, promises ” magic, romance and breakneck action.”

Andrea Cremer is an amazing writer. When I first discovered her series I wasn’t sure it would be a series I’d fall in love with. But I did, almost immediately after starting the first book and meeting her characters. The description calls her a master storyteller and I couldn’t agree more.

WOLFSBANE was one of my most eagerly anticipated releases and I was so excited to have had the chance to read it early. When I found out BLOODROSE was the final book in the series I was devastated. The fact that the author decided to continue her story, let her characters live for a little bit longer on the page, makes me happy to no end.

SNAKEROOT releases in less than three weeks, which will give me plenty of time to get caught up so that I can read it on its release date. And I am so excited to be able to do so. And although there is no information as to future books in the Nightshade Legacy series, I am very hopeful that there will be many books to come.

So, while I am also really looking forward to the other two books I have listed below that are releasing the week of the 10th, SNAKEROOT is the book I am most eagerly anticipating, the one I just had to put in the spotlight, and the one that will make me do a happy dance for when it downloads to my Kindle on Monday Midnight.

About the Book

Goodreads description:

Fans asked for it, and now they’ve got it! Andrea Cremer is continuing the story she began in in her internationally bestselling trilogy: Nightshade, Wolfsbane and Bloodrose.

In this new installment, Bosque Mar haunts the dreams of both Adne and Logan, trying to escape for the Nether, where Calla, Shay and the other Guardians trapped him in the final battle in the War of All Against All. Will he turn Adne to the dark side? Will Logan reclaim his birthright? And will darkness take over our world?

In a novel filled with magic, romance and breakneck action, master storytelling Andrea Cremer’s newest installment will not disappoint!

Book Watch: Releasing This Week #123

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of May 7th-May 13th that I have pre-ordered.

05

Reboot

addtogoodreads

REBOOT by Amy Tintera will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 384 pages.

REBOOT is the first book in a new series of the same name by author Amy Tintera. The second book in the series, currently untitled, is slated for release in 2014.

Line_001

I am so unbelievably excited that REBOOT is releasing this week. I fell instantly in love with it the second I read the description. And I have major cover love for it, too. So, waiting for its release has been torturous.

I cannot wait to meet Wren Connolly and Callum Reyes. I can’t wait to see just how his humanity turns the “perfect soldier” into someone willing to disobey her orders. And I cannot wait to visit this intriguing world that author Amy Tintera has created.

I have avoided all reviews, but I couldn’t help but hear the tiniest bits of chatter mentioning that this book rocked. So I’m hoping that I’ll be finished with this week’s reads early enough so that I can sneak REBOOT onto the pile this week.

Invisibility

addtogoodreads

INVISIBILITY by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Philomel, the print edition is 320 pages.

Line_001

I love Andrea Cremer’s writing and I am so very curious about this joint endeavor with author David Levithan. I’ve had INVISIBILITY pre-ordered since the moment I first learned of its existence and I can’t wait to check it out.

I love books that involve curses. Of course I love stories that include romance. And I can’t wait to find out if Elizabeth and Stephen discover a way to break the curse and just what sacrifice they’ll have to make in order for Stephen to “become visible.”

While I won’t get the chance to take a peek at it this month, I am hopeful of reading INVISIBILITY early next month. Because it’s been awhile since I read anything by author Andrea Cremer and I am definitely going through withdrawal.

The 5th Wave

addtogoodreads

THE 5th WAVE by Rick Yancey will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Putnam Juvenile, the print edition is 480 pages.

THE 5th WAVE is the first book in a new series of the same name by author Rick Yancey. The second and third books in the series are currently untitled and slated for release in August 2014 and August 2015, respectively.

Line_001

There has been a ton of buzz about Rick Yancey’s THE 5th WAVE, all of it positive, so I just had to pre-order it for my Kindle. Even though I haven’t read either THE PASSAGE or ENDER’S GAME, which the description compares this book to.

But any book that is billed as “epic” is one I have to check out. And when its description mentions that “only darkness remains” and “only the unlucky survive,” how could I not want to read it?

I more than want to read it. I desperately want to do so. And I’m so very hopeful of being able to meet Cassie and the “[b]eguiling and mysterious” Evan Walker in the next week or two.

The 1st Wave…

The 2nd Wave…

The 3rd Wave…

The End Games

addtogoodreads

THE END GAMES by T. Michael will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Balzer + Bray, the print edition is 384 pages.

Line_001

I cannot believe THE END GAMES is releasing this week. I had so hoped to read it early, but that didn’t happen. This book is yet another one of those books I consider must reads. It sounds so chilling and awesome.

As I’ve spotlighted it for my Book Watch post, I won’t ramble on endlessly, especially as this post is long, but I will just say that this book is one I’m so eager to dive into. I want to find out how The Game changes, how The Bellows, evolve and just what The Game Master is up to.

While I won’t get the chance to read THE END GAMES this week, there’s no way I’m going to let the month end without having read it.

div1

If I Should Die

addtogoodreads

IF I SHOULD DIE by Amy Plum will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 416 pages.

IF I SHOULD DIE is the third, and final, book in the Revenants series by author Amy Plum.

Line_001

After having just recently read UNTIL I DIE, I don’t think I’m more anxious for any book’s release than IF I SHOULD DIE by Amy Plum. I absolutely love the author’s stories about the Revenants and I cannot wait to find out what happened after that killer ending.

And from reading those excerpts on the IF I SHOULD DIE Blog Tour, I am even more desperate to continue the story. Which I hope to do when my eBook downloads on Monday Midnight.

Because I want to know why Jules and Kate are in New York. I want to know what happens with the traitor. And I want to know how this series ends.

div1

Icons

addtogoodreads

ICONS by Margaret Stohl will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover, large print paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE. It will be available in audiobook format on July 16, 2013.

Published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, the print edition is 448 pages.

ICONS is the first book in author Margaret Stohl’s new series of the same name. The second book in the series, currently untitled, is expected in 2014.

Line_001

ICONS is another book I wanted to read before its release, but due to the umpteen books I needed to read first, it just didn’t happen. But I have ICONS pre-ordered and I will be reading it just as soon as my schedule frees up a bit.

I am so very fascinated by the first line of the description which mentions that “[y]our heart beats only with their permission.” I’m curious to find out why Dol is so different. And I’m excited to discover this world in which Earth is at the mercy of the Icons.

The description promises a story that is “heart-pounding” in a world that is “haunting” and I cannot wait to finally get the chance to discover it for myself. Something I plan to do a bit later this month.

div1

Fall of Night

addtogoodreads

FALL OF NIGHT by Rachel Caine will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE. It will be available in audiobook format on May 27, 2013 at Barnes & Noble.

Published by NAL Hardcover, the print edition is 352 pages.

FALL OF NIGHT is the fourteenth book in the Morganville Vampires series. The fifteenth book, DAYLIGHTERS, is slated for release on November 5, 2013.

Line_001

I am seriously behind on this series. But I own every single book and I do plan on catching up on it this year. Hopefully by the time the fifteenth book is released. But I have FALL OF NIGHT pre-ordered and I’m super excited to add it to my collection when it releases this week.

Although I shouldn’t have, I couldn’t help but take a peek at the description. And now I’m even more excited to get caught up. Because in this installment it seems that Claire leaves Morganville and has an entire adventure far away from this Texas town and its resident vamps.

I’m very curious about her experiments and just what happens with her human test subjects to make her question whether leaving Morganville was such a good thing.

While I won’t be reading FALL OF NIGHT in the next few months, I am so very hopeful that I’ll have gotten caught up on this series by the end of October so that when DAYLIGHTERS releases in early November I’ll be ready to dive in.

*** NOT a YA Title***

Dead Ever After

addtogoodreads

DEAD EVER AFTER by Charlaine Harris will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover, paperback, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover, audio and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Ace Hardcover, the print edition is 352 pages.

DEAD EVER AFTER is the thirteenth and final full-length book in the author’s Sookie Stackhouse series. AFTER DEAD: What Came Next in the Word of Sookie Stackhouse, is due out on October 29, 2013.

Line_001

I’m a mix of relieved and sad to see this series end. I loved the first nine books but have fallen a bit out of love with the story for the past few installments. Though I do have DEAD EVER AFTER pre-ordered in both eBook format and a special signed edition from Barnes & Noble.

But after having the ending spoiled for me by a commentator on my other blog, I’m not sure when I will be reading this last installment. I may just pretend that this series ended with book nine.

Eric the Northman is one of my favorite vampire characters and I’ve adored Sookie for many of the books she’s been in. Even with the head-shaking decisions she’s made. And while I am a fan of the True Blood series on HBO, that series has not in any way changed my feelings about Mr. Bill Compton, [insert derogatory term here], vampire extraordinaire.

So learning, just yesterday, that the author originally planned for a different fate for him and altered that due to pressures because of that show, it has made me a little less enthusiastic toward the series. Because I would have loved for the author’s original idea to have been a part of her story.

My feelings are definitely conflicted, so I don’t plan on reading DEAD EVER AFTER until the chatter dies down. But I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to read it and find out just how the story ends for these characters I’ve known and loved for years, eventually. Even if the ending isn’t one I’d wished for Sookie.

Mystic

addtogoodreads

MYSTIC by Alyson Noel will be released in the U.S. on May 7, 2013 in hardcover, paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by St. Martin’s Griffin, the print edition is 320 pages.

MYSTIC is the third book in Alyson Noel’s Soul Seekers series. The fourth book in the series, HORIZON, is slated for release on November 19, 2013

Line_001

I have yet to get started on Alyson Noel’s Soul Seekers series but I’ve purchased each of the books so that I eventually can read them all at once. As I’m not sure how many books are planned in the series, it might be awhile before MYSTIC ends up on my reading pile. But it will definitely be part of my collection when it downloads on Tuesday.

I very much enjoyed the author’s The Immortals series. And I thought her middle grade spin-off series was absolutely delightful. So I’m very excited about reading her latest endeavor and meeting Daire Santos.

I did take a peek at the description since I figure that by the time I do read it, I’ll have forgotten what I’ve read. And it sounds incredibly exciting. With someone’s fate hanging in the balance and someone else who plans on destroying the world and everyone Daire loves, this third book in the series sounds so very suspenseful.

Which makes me glad that I will be waiting until each of the books has released before reading them so that I won’t have to wait to continue the story.

This week is absolutely INSANE! There are just way too many amazing books releasing this week, that I have no idea how I’m going to clear them all off the pile without a reading marathon of some kind.

I am so excited for THE 5th WAVE, REBOOT, THE END GAMES, ICONS and IF I SHOULD DIE. And there are a few books that are on my radar that I haven’t yet purchased, like TREMBLE, THE S-WORD, THE ORIGINALS, CHANTRESS and THE LUCY VARIATIONS. All of which I am so very tempted by.

As this post is excessively long I just have to keep this sign-off brief. Because with nine books downloading on Monday Midnight, none of which I’ve yet read, I need to get to the books currently on pile so that I can make some room.

Besides, with all the bookish information above, I doubt you’re interested in hearing me ramble.

So….

I hope you have some amazing titles to add to your collection this week. And I hope that if you’ve missed a few, this post has put them back on your radar.

If any of the books are ones you’ve been anxiously awaiting, I’d love to hear which ones they are! And if, for some reason, there is another book releasing this week that I’ve missed, please let me know. Because I hate missing out on awesome new releases, even if there are a ton of books already being added to my collection.

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!

Book Watch: Releasing This Week #106

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of January 8-January 14th that I have pre-ordered.

05

Just One Day

JUST ONE DAY by Gayle Forman will be released in the U.S. on January 8, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Dutton Juvenile, the print edition is 320 pages.

JUST ONE DAY is the first book in author Gayle Forman’s new two-book series of the same name. The second and final book in the series, JUST ONE YEAR, is also slated for release in 2013.

***

It has been so long since I read a book by Gayle Foreman. As one of my most favorite contemporary authors I am so unbelievably thrilled that JUST ONE YEAR will be downloading to my Kindle this week.

I am both anxious and excited to meet Lulu, to go on that journey with her over the course of the year as she looks for answers about her life and looks to find her “almost-true-love.” The description calls this a “breathtaking journey” and promises to be “sweepingly romantic.” And I cannot wait.

I am hopeful this story, and two-book series, will be every bit as gorgeous and beautifully written as If I Stay and Where She Went. But I am also nervously hopeful that this will be more of a love story with a happy ending than the heartbreaking tragedy that befell the main character and her family in that other “duet of novels.”

I may end up taking a peek and then find that I will not be able to put this down a bit later this week. Because this author’s writing is just that impossible to step away from once you’ve begun reading. At least it is for me.

But if I don’t get the chance to take a look this week, then I will definitely be diving in next week. JUST ONE YEAR is not just a must read, but a must read now.

Through the Ever Night

THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT by Veronica Rossi will be released in the U.S. on January 8, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperCollins, the print edition is 352 pages.

THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT is the second full-length book in author Veronica Rossi’s Under the Never Sky series. The third book in the series, INTO THE STILL BLUE, is expected in 2014.

***

One of my saddest bookish moments of 2012 was the fact that I did not get to devour UNDER THE NEVER SKY. I will be reading it this year. In the very near future, actually. But I would have loved to have read it already so I could devour book two immediately upon its release.

While I haven’t yet read book one, I did buy the novella recently and THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT will be downloading on my Kindle on Tuesday. So, all three stories will be ready to read the moment I can squeeze them in this winter.

I did make the mistake of taking a peek at the description and now I’m trying desperately to forget what I read about Perry and Aria. Well, everything except for the fact that this book promises to be a “captivating love story” that is “as perilous as it is unforgettable.”

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can start reading the first book in the series at the end of this month so I can read this sequel immediately thereafter. I have heard nothing but amazing things about this author and this series and I cannot wait to finally discover that for myself.

Crash

CRASH by Lisa McMann will be released in the U.S. on January 8, 2013 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at AMAZON and in hardcover and eBook formats at BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Simon Pulse, the print edition is 256 pages.

CRASH is the first book in Lisa McMann’s Visions series. The second book, BANG, is slated for release on October 8, 2013.

***

I cannot believe that Lisa McMann’s CRASH is releasing this week and will be living on my Kindle in just a matter of days. It seemed like only yesterday I was spotlighting it for my Book Watch post and in just a few days it will be mine, mine all  mine.

Mine to devour. Mine to love. Mine to have forever and ever.

And, as always, I won’t ramble on too much about this book – again – but I cannot wait to meet Jules and see just what she does to” keep her vision from becoming reality.” And I am so excited to finally have another series by this author to devour over the next few years.

The author’s WAKE trilogy is one that is still so memorable and CRYER’S CROSS is and will forever be a favorite. So I’m really hoping to sneak this one in next week, although I’m listening to DEAD TO YOU in audiobook format right now. So maybe this will have to wait just a bit longer…. or not.

Timekeeper

TIMEKEEPER by Alexandra Monir will be released in the U.S. on January 8, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Delacorte Books for Young Readers, the print edition is 288 pages.

TIMEKEEPER is the second full-length book in Alexandra Monir’s Timeless series.

***

I own but still have yet to read TIMELESS. But I am super excited this sequel will be downloading on Tuesday to my Kindle. Because I think these books will be perfect to read back-to-back with no wait between them.

I totally took a peek at the description for TIMEKEEPER and while it does reveal some information of what happened before, it doesn’t feel spoiler-y. What it does do is make me want to read this sequel right now… and its predecessor.

I want to know why Philip has lost his memory and I want to learn more about this Time Society. I’m a bit anxious about why there’s a “vengeful Windsor ancestor” and why this more than century-old “rift” could have “life-or-death consequences.” And for whom.

The description promises a “breathtaking romance” that combines with “complex magic” and I cannot wait to be enchanted by this love story. As I’ve been very much in the mood as of late to read contemporary and historical YA romances I think this series that also involves time travel will be added to the pile very soon.

Paper Valentine

PAPER VALENTINE by Brenna Yovanoff will be released in the U.S. on January 8, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Razorbill, the print edition is 368 pages.

***

I have yet to read a book by author Brenna Yovanoff and yet I own both THE REPLACEMENT and THE SPACE BETWEEN and now PAPER VALENTINE will be joining the collection this week.

I’d first noticed this book because of this cover which is definitely unique and yet I find it so incredibly unsettling. I’m not sure why, but as I look at it, I get a sense of unease.

And that’s not even having read the description. Which I only just did now that I’m creating this post.

I had no idea that this story was a ghost story and a murder mystery. But now that I do I’m even more thrilled to be adding this to my collection. This book of a “city in panic” and a world of “ghost girls and horrifying secrets” sounds absolutely enthralling.

I cannot wait to meet Hannah and find out if I can solve the mystery of who this Valentine Killer is or if I’ll be kept in the dark with only my suspicions.

And even though I have those two other books by the author on my pile, I think this one sounds like the perfect book to be introduced to her writing. And I hope to do so early this spring.

Rise

RISE by Andrea Cremer will be released in the U.S. on January 8, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Philomel, the print edition is 416 pages.

RISE is the second book in author Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade Prequel series

***

Yes I own the first book in this prequel series and yes it’s still sitting on my TBR pile. But I just had to pre-order this second book in the series because I really, really want to read both books. Even though I haven’t read the final book int the author’s Nightshade series.

I want to dive into this series that is set before the events that took place in Nightshade. I want to meet Ember and Barrow. The description promises dark magic, “supernatural horrors,” mysterious characters and “shocking revelations.” How could I not want to dive in?

Andrea Cremer has a wonderful writing style and has created characters that I loved in that first series. While I’m still not ready to let that series end, I don’t see why I can’t read RIFT and RISE and meet these new characters and discover this new world.

And I really hope to do so in the next month. Especially as it’s dubbed as being “richly sensual” and “full of magic, action and danger.”

**UPDATE**

Blood Prophecy

BLOOD PROPHECY by Alyxandra Harvey released in the U.S. today, January 8, 2013, in hardcover and paperback formats. (The eBook had an earlier release date of December 24, 2012.)

It is currently available to order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Walker Childrens, the print edition is 496 pages.

BLOOD PROPHECY is the sixth and final book in the author’s Drake Chronicles.

***

As I’d already briefly mentioned BLOOD PROPHECY in my Book Watch post the week it was releasing in eBook format – and it was added to my collection – I completely forgot to mention it this week as I’d intended.

As release date is now upon us, and as I’ve had the eBook in my possession for over two weeks, I am just going to list it here in order to be thorough, rather than ramble on endlessly after-the-fact about how much I love this series, its characters and this author’s writing.

I do have to add – because I just can’t say nothing – that I cannot believe this series is ending and that I am so far behind on it. But I suppose that now that it has ended I will be able to catch up… though I’m not sure I’ll be ready to say goodbye when I do.

There are so many awesome books releasing this week and I’m trying so hard not to add the three “of note” books to my collection before their release date. But I’m one click away from hitting “pre-order” as I write this post.

I haven’t yet read any of the six books I have pre-ordered and in some case haven’t read the first book in the series. So there are a LOT of new books for the TBR pile this week. Which is a good and bad thing.

I am most excited for Gayle Forman and Lisa McMann’s books as I have been a huge fan of both authors for quite some time now. But I’m equally excited to finally “meet” Veronica Rossi, Brenna Yovanoff and Alexandra Monir’s characters.

I really hope to be able to sneak both JUST ONE DAY and CRASH onto my reading pile or go “off-pile” to read either or both of them in the next couple of weeks. Because I don’t want either book to get buried as the year moves forward.

So there are six new books for the pile with three potential adds on release date. I’m pretty sure next week is equally as packed-full, if not, I know that the weeks of the 22nd and 29th will be. So I’m really hoping to get a jump on some of my reading by then.

Anyway…

As always, I hope there are one or two titles you can finally scratch off your list of to be read with this week’s releases. And if there is anything I forgot to list… or buy… I would love a heads up.

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!

Book Watch: Releasing This Week #102

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of December 11th-December 17th that I have pre-ordered.

FORETOLD by Jana Oliver will be released in the U.S. on December 11, 2012, in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by St. Martin’s Griffin, the print edition is 352 pages.

FORETOLD is the fourth and final book in author Jana Oliver’s The Demon Trappers series.

***

I cannot believe I hadn’t spotlighted FORETOLD for my book watch post last month. I knew that its release date was on December 11th and I had it pre-ordered for ages and ages. Yet it somehow fell off my radar. I blame NaNoWriMo and Thanksgiving.

I cannot believe that this is finally available here in the U.S…. well, just about here. I almost caved and purchased the UK edition from Amazon just to get the chance to read it early. But I didn’t. Because it’s the series-ending book and I knew I’d be just a little bit devastated that the series was coming to a close.

As it is releasing this week I finally took a peek at the description – I couldn’t bear to do it earlier for fear of suffering an even more torturous wait than I already was. And oh my gosh I can’t wait to read this book.

I’m absolutely dying to find out how things end with Riley and Beck. To see if they do finally get their HEA, especially after what happened in the previous two books in the series.

I am so hopeful that things do end happily for them and that Riley is able to defeat Sartael when he takes on Lucifer. My fingers are definitely crossed. For her. For Beck. For Atlanta. For all of humanity.

I have a feeling that this book won’t meet the same fate as most of the series-ending books I encounter. And I also have the feeling that this will be on my reading pile this week.

FALLING KINGDOMS by Morgan Rhodes will be released in the U.S. on December 11, 2012 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Razorbill, the print edition is 400 pages.

FALLING KINGDOMS is the first book in a series of the same name. The sequel, REBEL SPRING, is slated for release in 2013.

***

FALLING KINGDOMS is another book I pre-ordered ages ago. And I can’t wait until it downloads this week. Of course I recently discovered that I had an ARC and could have read it even sooner.

But I’m so excited to finally have this book in my collection. The story sounds amazing and I can’t wait to meet Cleo, Jonas, Lucia and Magnus. As I’ve already spotlighted it for my Book Watch post just a few weeks ago, I won’t go on and on and on here.

Though I will just say that I can’t wait to see which of the three kingdoms ends up victorious and which kingdoms fall. And I am so excited to take this magical journey with the characters as they prepare for battle and to see just how their fates are “forever intertwined.”

This book sounds utterly riveting and I am super thrilled to be able to add this to my permanent collection. I hope to get the chance to read it over the holidays.

SHADOW DAYS by Andrea Cremer will be released in the U.S. on December 10, 2012 in eBook format only. It is currently available to pre-order online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The eBook Novella is published by Penguin.

SHADOW DAYS is a prequel novella in author Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade series.

***

I can’t believe I missed mentioning SHADOW DAYS last week, as its release date is December 10th. But as it hasn’t yet downloaded to my Kindle I’m technically not too late to include it with this week’s releases.

I can’t wait to read this novella told from Shay’s perspective and learn just what his life was like in his uncle’s mansion. I’m so curious to see just what the author reveals about this place “where gargoyles seem to move” and “magic seems real.” I hope it’s every bit as amazing as it sounds.

And I am so super excited that it will be in my collection on Monday.

UPDATED to add…

Opal cover 500px

OPAL by Jennifer L. Armentrout will be released in the U.S. on December 11, 2012 in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Published by Entangled Teen, the print edition is 452 pages.

OPAL is the third book in the author’s Lux series. ORIGIN, the fourth book in the series is slated for release in July 2013, and the fifth book, as yet untitled, is also slated for release in 2013.

***

I cannot believe I forgot to add OPAL to my list of releases this week. I suppose it’s because as an eBook junkie it downloaded for me on December 3rd and it wasn’t listed in my pre-orders when creating this post. Which is why I really should do as Parajunkee suggests and create an editorial calendar….

Anyway, I am so excited to read this next book in the series and find out just what happens with Katy and Daemon. Especially now that a certain character has made an appearance in the series. One I won’t reveal as I am trying so very hard not to spoil things.

But after what happened in ONYX I am desperate to find out how things progress. The description talks of secret organizations and friends who have become enemies. It also promises a potential world-shattering outcome.

I already started to read OPAL when it released for the Kindle last week, but as I accidentally read the last sentence in the book and spoiled things for myself, I’m waiting until I forget it enough so that I’m not dying with each and every page I read. But I’m thinking I’ll pick this one up over the holiday weekend at the end of the month. I can’t resist Daemon for too long.

END of update.

Princess of the Silver Woods (Princess #3) by Jessica Day George

It may be a quiet week for releases but it’s a seriously AWESOME week. FORETOLD is a book I’ve been waiting for since the moment I started reading the series and I don’t know how I’ll be able to refrain from diving into it the second it downloads on my Kindle.

And FALLING KINGDOMS sounds totally epic. I can’t wait to get lost amidst the battles and “betrayals.”

Hopefully next week is quiet too, as I’d love to be able to tackle a few new releases before the year ends so that I could potentially count them among my favorites for the year.

But we shall see. All I know is that there are a number of books releasing on the 26th and in early January, so my plate is most definitely full.

I just hope I didn’t miss anything releasing this week that’s an absolute must have.

Anyway…

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
