2011 Reads
My goal for 2011 is to increase the number of books read to 150 from my piddly 125 max. I’m not sure how attainable this will be, given that in addition to reading I am now reviewing and blogging, which definitely cuts into my reading time.
I have in no way finalized my list of items to read, and of course this list will change as I find other books to read that I haven’t yet discovered, but so far here are a few of the books I plan on reading in 2011.
If you have any suggestions, please feel free to recommend them to me in the comments, on Facebook or Goodreads. I am happy to consider any books that are Young Adult, Paranormal, Stephen King or Charlaine Harris.
So no crime drama, horror or non-fiction. And no straight-up romance novels. Chick-lit or PNR is OK! (Although my Goodreads might not reflect all, I have read almost everything by John Saul, Dean Koontz and early James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark, Richard North Patterson, Tami Hoag, George Dawes Green, V.C. Andrews, Agatha Christie, etc. so no recommends by these authors either.)
Books that I choose to re-read in 2011 will not count toward the 150.
UPDATE: I decided to re-order the list by date that I reviewed each book.
(Note, these are not in any particular order. And many of these I either already own or have on pre-order so am also hoping to consider this a resolution to read all those lovely books I already have collecting electronic dust.)

Even if I’ve read a book, until I review it, I will not cross it off this list.
I will most likely read more than 150 books this year. I might also not end up reading all the books above, given that there are so many new releases just begging to be read. Only time will tell. But if you know of a book I should definitely add to this list, please feel free to let me know!
As I read each book in 2011 I hope to cross it off the above list.

HUNGER GAMES TRIO is PHENOMENAL! I picked it up by accident one day at the library & was up looking for book 2 at 3 am! I found it and was HOOKED. I normally read everything (basically what u read) & this series was AWESUM!
Have u read the THIRST series by Christopher Pike? (I have em all on ebook PDF if you would like them) I was happy to find a different but still entertaining vamp series.
I was entertained by VC ANDREWS (ghost writers) newest vamp themed tale (looking forward to book 2 of series) “DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS”.
I personally feel 2011 WILL be the year of the Zombie (u heard it here first..lol..) that said “AFTER THE END” Bonnie Dee is a gr8 intro to the awesum world of the walking un-dead-ish..
“SMASHWORD” a site on the net has a lot of FREE books & short stories that rock! One such set of short stories about Z-Bee’s is called “DIARY OF INFECTION” (just type that into search bar on site, it’s a set of 3 short stories.
I swear it should be combined into a book & made longer! It was my FIRST serious Z-Bee read besides the funny as h*ll “So now your a zombie”.
Another “SMASHWORD” gem is called “Pretty when she dies- a vampire novel” by Rhiannon Frater, it was, again, phenomenal x’s a million.
Oh yeah! Another I found on “SMASHWORD” for FREE is called “The Blood That Bonds
Ebook Price: Free! 94400 words. Fiction by Christopher Buecheler” I BEGGED the author for a sneak peek at the follow up thats how AWESUM this was!
Thanks for all the suggestions, I will definitely add a couple of the above.
How about Grey Eyes. It’s available at Smashwords and on Amazon.
Wow I cannot prepare like that!
@Mindy – This isn’t prepared, I’m never THAT prepared!
This is just a hopeful list. I have so many new books that aren’t even on that list. I am hopeful that I can read all of these, though.
wow i love your book list it is amazing like most of those books i had time to read good luck with your reading its worth your time
I never said Thanks Charlene! I clearly didn’t even get close, but there’s always next year and more books.
Hi i read your list and you have some good books in there, i’d like to recommend a few though. The hunger games trio is really amazing, you will really enjoy that, as well as matched, bumped, white cat and red glove. I noticed you didn’t have the maze runner trilogy on there. you really should read them! The last book isn’t out yet (Oct. 11) but the first two are really amazing. Also if your in the mood for a quick 200 pager, i’d suggest a book called SPRAY. It’s basically a story about a city-wide game of Assasin using water guns. it’s really good. Also Tiger Quest, and An oldie but a goodie. The Life of Pi. Amazing book. And if your into stories of reincarnation and love, I really Recommend THe boundless Deepby Kate BRailler. MY all-time favorite book ever!! everyone i recommended it to absolutely loved it! and i think you will too. I too am an avid reader, I’d read a book aday if i had the time, so i have a lot of recommendations and lots of stories to tell hehe.
I have the first one of the Hunger Games on here. I know I MUST read that. I think Matched is on there too. I already read Bumped, White Cat and Red Glove.
I plan on catching up with the Maze Runner series next year. I couldn’t fit it on for 2011 – and some of these books are going to be pushed off until then, too
Thanks for all the great recommends! Will definitely check out a few of them. I wish I had time to read a book a day, that would be so awesome!
You’ve read Spellbound by Rachel Hawkins? How and where did you get it? If you have the PDF file would you mind sending it to me?
@Ellen Mae – No, I actually read Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shulz. Also, it’s illegal to share galleys.
