There are a few books I’m really looking forward to that are releasing the week of December 31st, but the book that I’ve been waiting for the longest and am the most curious about is THE PROMISE OF AMAZING. I was first drawn in by the book’s title which is all sorts of awesome, but it was the description that made this book a must read for me.

I want to meet Wren and Gray and find out whether they are able to figure out just who they are. I want to find out if theirs is a love story with a happy ending. And I really, really want to read about just how they meet as it sounds sweet and funny and with its rather interesting setting as a backdrop it might just be ridiculously charming.

I love that both characters have completely different stories that lead to the point in time in their lives where they meet, but yet both are looking to change. And I am intrigued about just why their story is deemed “complicated.”

While THE PROMISE OF AMAZING releases in just under two weeks, I have an early copy to read and I can’t wait to get the chance to do so prior to its release date. And I am hopeful that I will fall as in love with this story as I anticipate I will. I’ve been keeping away from the chatter, so I don’t know its buzzworthiness, but for me, based upon what I’ve read in the description, this story is totally buzzworthy.

Which is why, although I am totally stoked about the three other books I listed below that I am anxiously awaiting, I chose to put THE PROMISE OF AMAZING in the spotlight this week. A charming, romantic and enchanting love story with a touch of humor is the perfect end-of-the-year read and one that is most definitely worth watching.

About the Book

Goodreads description:

Wren Caswell is average. Ranked in the middle of her class at Sacred Heart, she’s not popular, but not a social misfit. Wren is the quiet, “good” girl who’s always done what she’s supposed to—only now in her junior year, this passive strategy is backfiring. She wants to change, but doesn’t know how.

Grayson Barrett was the king of St. Gabe’s. Star of the lacrosse team, top of his class, on a fast track to a brilliant future—until he was expelled for being a “term paper pimp.” Now Gray is in a downward spiral and needs to change, but doesn’t know how.

One fateful night their paths cross when Wren, working at her family’s Arthurian-themed catering hall, performs the Heimlich on Gray as he chokes on a cocktail weenie, saving his life literally and figuratively. What follows is the complicated, awkward, hilarious, and tender tale of two teens shedding their pasts, figuring out who they are—and falling in love.
