Book Watch: Releasing This Week #131

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of July 2nd-July 8th that I have pre-ordered.

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US by Kasie West will be released in the U.S. on July 2, 2013 in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 320 pages.

I am so unbelievably thrilled that THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US is finally releasing this week. I’ve been so excited about this book ever since I read author Kasie West’s PIVOT POINT. I loved the author’s writing style in that book and can’t wait to see what she does with a contemporary novel.

As I already spotlighted it for my Book Watch post I won’t ramble on about all the reasons why I want to read this book. But I will just say that I’m dying to know who Caymen should be worried about aside from Xander. And that I love that this story doesn’t appear to be just a love story where money is the only thing keeping these two apart.

I think the author is an amazing writer and I can’t wait to meet these two new characters she’s created. And I just know that I will be reading it the instant it downloads to my Kindle on Monday Midnight.

Some Quiet Place

addtogoodreads

SOME QUIET PLACE by Kelsey Sutton will be released in the U.S. in paperback format on July 8, 2013. An eBook edition was previously released on June 1, 2013.

It is currently available to pre-order in paperback format at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Flux, the print edition is 336 pages.

I actually own the eBook of SOME QUIET PLACE already. When I went to pre-order the print copy – because that cover is so amazing I just had to – I saw that the eBook was already available and I couldn’t resist adding it to my collection.

But I can’t wait for the print edition to be delivered later this week so I can see if that fascinating, beautiful and somewhat eerie cover is every bit as awesome in real life. But I also can’t wait to read this book.

I’d first seen SOME QUIET PLACE on NetGalley awhile back and I was totally intrigued by the idea that the main character couldn’t feel emotions and so they became real people in order to sway her. I love the idea that Fear is intrigued by her and works with her to uncover her hidden past. And I’m so curious to find out what “shadowy menace” is stalking her and whether Fear will be able to save her.

With such an interesting premise and a fascinating cover, I can’t wait to dive into this book. Something I hope to do later this week if I finish this week’s reads a little bit early.

This Strange and Familiar Place

addtogoodreads

THIS STRANGE AND FAMILIAR PLACE by Rachel Carter will be released in the U.S. on July 2, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 272 pages.

THIS STRANGE AND FAMILIAR PLACE is the second book in author Rachel Carter’s So Close to You series. The third and final book in the series, currently untitled, is slated for release in summer 2014.

I have not yet read the first book in Rachel Carter’s series but I own it and just had to pre-order THIS STRANGE AND FAMILIAR PLACE for my eReader. I love stories about time travel and I really want to meet Lydia and find out more about the “dark secrets” involving the Montauk Project.

I did not end up peeking at the description because I’m hoping to be able to read both books back-to-back in the next few weeks. So I have no idea what Lydia uncovers in that first book. I have no idea where this story is headed.

And I have no idea whether Wes is someone that she can trust. But I can’t wait to find out.

While I only have three books pre-ordered this week, there are actually a few of the books of note that I’m definitely thinking of adding to the collection, including A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S SCREAM, TRULY, MADLY, DEADLY, SHUTDOWN and VIRAL NATION.

As I have such a huge backlog of books on the TBR pile, I’m desperately trying to curtail my spending on books that I won’t be reading immediately. That hasn’t worked out very well so far. Because each week there are so many amazing books that I am so afraid I’ll forget about if I don’t get them right now.

But at least I’m not pre-ordering them. That’s a start… right?

Anyway… with the holiday week this week I can’t think of a better way to spend one of the days than perusing my local Barnes & Noble. I am actually enjoying reading books in print and I’d love to grab a few paperbacks and head to the beach with them.

And with so many interesting books releasing this week I don’t think I’ll have any problem finding a few new adds.

But what about you? Are any of the books releasing this week ones you are planning to add to your collection? Are any of them ones you already own? Or are there maybe a few I’ve missed that I should be adding to mine? I’d love to know!

I hope that with all the lovely new books releasing this week that you have an amazing reading week ahead. Happy reading!

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!

Oh my gosh thank you so much! I actually have that pre-ordered but for whatever reason it didn’t show up on my list of pre-orders. Thank you SO much!

Thanks for doing these posts, Rachel. The time and effort you put in to compile all these is appreciated – especially when you bring books to my attention I may have missed otherwise! :)

  3. Thanks so sharing. Have a super Fourth of July.

  4. Sorry, I just HAD to fangirl a bit about the Lost Voices book #3!! Seriously??? I fell in love with the first book and now I’ve gotten behind 2 books!! I need to get them soon!!

Argh!!!! Seriously, it’s unhealthy how much I’m spending in books lately seeing as I’m jobless again.

This stinks but hey, books always put a smile on my face so :)

Also, Blurred *_* I’m in love with that cover, I’ve read that a lot have liked the first book. I’m curious and excited to get it. And of COURSE The Distance Between Us!!!
X_X I want it so bad!!!

Sorry I, again, AGAIN!! I can’t believe how many times I’ve come to apology and promise to try to comment… But I’ve GOT to come back more often. I mean it. Just because you’ve all but forgotten I exist. I bet you can’t remember my name, fear not I am ALBA! ;) There, I reminded you now you’ve got no excuses…

Anyway, as I was saying. Since I’m jobless there’s no excuse for me not to be commenting daily even if I read your post on my email lol.
I’ve been reading a lot though and reviewing less but I’m getting there, it’s YOUR fault now that I remember!! YOUR fault that I’ve been getting almost no sleep what with my addiction to the Ethan and Merit situation.

    I’m going now, swear.

    -hugs you fiercely-
