Book Watch: Releasing This Week #115

Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.

These are books for the week of March 12th-March 18th that I have pre-ordered.

I am so excited for the release of POISON by Bridget Zinn. I just started reading it and it’s every bit as enchanting as I’d hoped it would be. While I have it pre-ordered for my Kindle, I am definitely going to be checking out the print version after it releases. Because if it’s even half as gorgeous as the ARC, the hardcover will be a must have for my collection.

As I’ve talked about POISON quite a bit in my Book Watch post a few weeks back, and as I’m reading it now, I don’t want to reveal too much. But I will say it is just so easy to get transported into the world the author created. And I cannot wait to finish this journey with Kyra.

And as much as I do love this adventure, it is a bittersweet read for me knowing that this lovely author isn’t around to share more of her stories or to learn of her book’s reception among its readers.

But I am so very happy that I did learn of this book and get to go on this adventure. One I cannot wait to get back to. And I cannot wait for the finished copy to download on Monday Midnight.

MILA 2 Cover

MILA 2.0 by Debra Driza will be released in the U.S. on March 12, 2013 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by Katherine Tegen Books, the print edition is 480 pages.

MILA 2.0 is the first book in author Debra Driza’s new series by the same name. The second book in the series, as yet untitled, is slated for release on April 1, 2014 and the third book in the series does not have a release date yet set.

I was so excited to have been able to trade for an early copy of MILA 2.0. But I cannot wait until the finished copy downloads to my Kindle on release date. Because I definitely want this book to be a part of my permanent collection and ARCs don’t stick with me for very long.

I loved the cover for MILA 2.0 but I loved the story even more. Even though it’s dubbed a “sci-fi” thriller, which are generally not my kind of stories, to me it was just an awesome and action-packed story with a character I instantly connected with.

The description was not wrong when it called MILA 2.0 “riveting” with “heart-pounding action.” Because I was totally riveted from start to finish. And there was plenty of action to keep me on the edge of my seat. Of course there was that ending… but I won’t be talking about that.

I didn’t read the short prequel novella yet, but I’m just dying to find out more. So, I’m not sure whether it would be better to read before the full-length book or after. But I’m thinking after, as I liked getting to know Mila just as she was introduced in Part One of MILA 2.0 and couldn’t imagine having met her in any other way.

There are a ton of books releasing this week, but I’ve only pre-ordered two of them. I could have sworn PRETTY SLY by Elisa Ludwig was releasing this week, but all details are stripped from its records on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, so I’m not sure the cause for the delay.

And apparently I forgot that I had three other books pre-ordered last week - A BLOOM IN WINTER (Summerset Abbey #2) by T.J. Brown, DEATH, DOOM AND DETENTION (Darklight #2) by Darynda Jones and THIRST NO. 5: THE SACRED VEIL by Christopher Pike. So I’m super glad I only have two books downloading this week, as I don’t think my wallet could have handled another huge release week.

At least I think I only have two books pre-ordered… I can’t be positive given Amazon’s new setup. It seems that each release week brings me a new surprise on release day. Though I won’t complain about receiving unexpected books.

As I am currently reading one of the two books releasing this week that I have on order, and have read the other, fortunately by release date on Tuesday I won’t have any new books being added to the TBR pile. Which is a relief. Because I’m anxiously awaiting CLOCKWORK PRINCESS’ release next week and I just know I won’t be able to resist diving into that book on release day.

I hope you have some awesome books headed your way this week and that the wait has ended for a few much anticipated titles.

As ever, happy book buying and reading!

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!

And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
