Don’t Let It End Reading Challenge Begins
Feb 14
If you’re just visiting here now and have no idea what this challenge is about, CLICK HERE for the post with all the details. It’s not too late to sign up!
For those of you who have signed up to be a part of the challenge with me THANK YOU SO MUCH! You are very, very brave. Way braver than I am.
I am still kicking myself for coming up with this idea… and we’ll see just how well I do by the time Bastille Day rolls around. I have a feeling it will be a lot harder to say goodbye the more times I do it over these next five months. In fact, I tested the waters and read a series ending book just last week and it was HARD to say goodbye. I know it won’t get any easier.
But I am committed to this challenge, even if I only end up finishing five series over the next five months. I have a feeling those of you who have signed up will be WAY more successful than I am.
Anyway….
The challenge starts today, so it’s now officially time to pick up those final books in the series you’ve been reluctant to read and start reading. Any books read prior to today can’t be counted. But I would love to hear which book you’re starting the challenge with, so feel free to leave a comment!
My plan is to start off this challenge with Rachel Vincent’s WITH ALL MY SOUL, which may just destroy me before this challenge has barely begun. I am so not ready to say goodbye to Tod, Kaylee, Nash or Avari. Sabine? Yeah, I’m okay with saying goodbye to her… though I actually grew to like her in BEFORE I WAKE.
When you’ve read the book and shared your thoughts online – whether on Goodreads, Facebook or your blog, stop back and leave a link in the Linky. At the end of the month I’ll throw those names into Random and choose ONE WINNER for TWO Series Ending Books of YOUR Choice.
The more books you link up each month means the more chances to win. But more than that it means you’ve finally mustered up the courage to say goodbye to a favorite series!
For those of you who signed up prior to the start of the event, as I mentioned in the sign-up post, there was a giveaway for a Series Ending Book of Your Choice to THREE Winners. I’ve thrown all the names into Random, with the extra entries for those who created a post and…
Congratulations to Tizzy @ Creative Therapy, Lis @ The Reader Lines and Jen & Patricia @ Book Exhibitionism. You’ve each won a Series Ending Book of Your Choice that I’ll order from Amazon or The Book Depository depending upon your location.
Please send me an email with your book of choice and address details!
I wish you the best of luck in this challenge. I know it won’t be easy… believe me I know! And I hope that finally saying goodbye to some of those series that linger, or taking a chance and saying goodbye to a series that is ending now, will be easier than you thought, that the goodbye won’t be filled with too much pain and sorrow and that it will free you up to discover brand new series you’ve been just dying to dive into!
Happy… I hope… reading!

I have two questions. I started Boundless by Cynthia Hand yesterday. But won’t finish it for another day or two. Does that count? Also does anybody know if Goddess Inheritance is the final book in that series?
You can count Boundless. It’s fine as long as you haven’t finished it – or were too close to finishing it – before start of challenge! And I heard that The Goddess Inheritance is the final book in the series on one of the blog tour stops.
Okay thanks. I had only read i think 48/431 pages on wed the 13th.
Good luck, Rachel!
And yeah, it won’t be easy, but it’s time for me to say goodbye to a lot of series, and after that there’s always re-reading, something I love to do with my fav series
I will probably start with The Blood – the last book in D. J. MacHale’s Morpheus Road trilogy – a book I was planning to finally read last month (I even re-read the first 2 books), but postponed it because of this challenge
I think I’m going to start with Foretold by Jana Oliver. I’ve been putting it off because I don’t want to say goodbye to Beck’s hot self.
And OMG!!!! WAMS!!!! I don’t know how I’ll make it through that book after the tears in BIW
Oh yay! Sent you an email!
(I’m still deliberating as to which book to pick though.
)
And I am SO ready to do this!
(…Yeah, that’s just for now. We’ll see the quivering, crying, curled up ball I’ll become once WAMS comes out. XD)
Like Katrina, I’m super excited for Foretold! I’m just waiting for my copy to arrive, then I’m devouring it! I think within the challenge, I’ll also be reading Shadows in the Silence, Sever, and Bloodrose, to name a few. And maybe I’ll start the Unbound series since Oath Bound is almost out!
And do duologies count? Or trilogies and series only? I’ve heard Anna Dressed in Blood and Unraveling are both duologies, and I loved Anna Dressed in Blood and I have yet to read Girl of Nightmares.
Thanks for hosting this challenge! And good luck- I really think you’ll need it.
There is a book on goodreads called Shatter Me #3.
oh! you are starting the challenge with WITH ALL MY SOUL!! you got copy already? so lucky! I’ll be reading that too for the challenge but I have to wait for the released date in order to get a copy.
I’m not ready…
I’m so not ready T_T
I can’t even remember why I thought signing up was a good idea
But… I have to!! I HAVE to…
*_*
-sniff-
#1stalker
I have no idea why I created this challenge? I’ve said goodbye to two series and I hate it, LOL!
And yes now that you signed up you must.
Seriously… Your mind works in strange ways…
AND MINE AS WELL!!
I signed up T_T
Oh my goodness!! Endlessly T_T
I’ll start with that one… I HAVE to give some closure to my torture T_T
Oh my clouds…
-hyperventilates-
Oh yay! Thank you! I just sent my email… sorry, my internet sucks! I´m almost ready to start, but it´s really really hard!
I just signed up and I hope I did it right. I’ve never done this before so I feel like a bit of a tool but it sounds like fun and I have great books that are just dying to be read!
Thanks for hosting this Rachel!
