Book Watch: Releasing This Week #103
Below are the YA books releasing this week that I am spotlighting for my “Book Watch: Releasing This Week” post.
These are books for the week of December 18th-December 24th that I have pre-ordered.
DEADLY LITTLE LESSONS by Laurie Faria Stolarz will be released in the U.S. on December 18, 2012 in hardcover and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Published by Hyperion Books for Children, the print edition is 336 pages.
DEADLY LITTLE LESSONS is the fifth book in the author’s Touch series.
I am such a huge fan of this series, but I can’t believe I’m one book behind with the upcoming release of DEADLY LITTLE LESSONS. I must remedy that this year with the 2013 TBR challenge I’m participating in.
I love each puzzle the author presents that must be solved. I love the characters’ abilities. And I love the love triangle between Camelia, Ben and Adam.
It has been such a long time since I read this series and I have seriously missed this world. And I can’t wait to catch up and find out just what will happen in this latest installment.
I won’t take a peek at the description – no matter how tempted I am – because I haven’t read book four and I just know that it will be spoiler-y. But I will definitely be reading both books in the next few months. I even have DEADLY LITTLE VOICES cued up on one of my Kindles, so that next year, if there is a sixth book releasing, I will be able to check out its description instantly.
And even though I am not quite caught up, I can’t wait for DEADLY LITTLE LESSONS to download this week.
THE DARKEST MINDS by Alexandra Bracken will be released in the U.S. on December 18, 2012 in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in all formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Published by Hyperion Books for Children, the print edition is 496 pages.
THE DARKEST MINDS is the first book in a new series of the same name by the author. The second and third books, both currently untitled, are slated for release in December 2013 and December 2014 respectively.
I have had my eye on this book ever since I first learned of the author on Twitter ages ago. The title, THE DARKEST MINDS, had me instantly intrigued. And so the moment I heard that it was available to pre-order for my Kindle I did. And I can’t wait until it downloads this week.
The way the description teases about what might be wrong with Ruby makes me desperate to find out just what that is. But I’m even more curious to find out what goes on at Thurmond, the “brutal… rehabilitation camp” the description speaks of.
And I want to know what happened to Ruby’s parents. What she did to them.
This book sounds totally chilling and creepy and with that dark and mysterious cover, I am even more desperate to get the chance to read it. And I really hope I can squeeze it in before the new year. But if not, it will be one of the first books I dive into in 2013.
INDIGO AWAKENING by Jordan Dane will be released in the U.S. on December 18, 2012 in paperback and eBook formats. It is currently available to pre-order online in both formats at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Published by Harlequin Teen, the print edition is 304 pages.
INDIGO AWAKENING is the first book in a new series entitled The Hunted by author Jordan Dane. The second book in the series, CRYSTAL STORM, is slated for release in 2013.
I already went on and on about INDIGO AWAKENING in my Book Watch post the other week, so I will try to be a little bit less ramble-y here. But I can’t wait until the finished version downloads this week.
While I have already started reading the eARC, I think I might switch to the published version just so I can read it as it was intended to be read. But I am loving it so far, though it is early days.
As I don’t want to risk spoiling anything, I will just say that I was instantly caught up in the story and I cannot wait to find out more. About Lucas. About Rayne. About Gabe. And about “the Believers.”
I hope to finish reading it in the next few days so that I get answers to the questions that I’m already asking. And while I still have a ways to go, I have a feeling that this series is going to be awesome.
The Vincent Brothers (The Vincent Boys #2) by Abbi Glines
Pub. Date: December 18, 2012
Publisher: Simon Pulse
I have this pre-ordered but listed it here as it’s only releasing in eBook format this week.
Blood Prophecy (Drake Chronicles #6) by Alyxandra Harvey
Pub. Date for eBook only: December 24, 2012
Publisher: Bloomsbury Walker Childrens
Free PREVIEW edition of the first 11 chapters
Level 2 (The Memory Chronicles #1) by Lenore Appelhans
Pub. Date for free preview only: December 18, 2012
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
I am super psyched that BLOOD PROPHECY will be downloading to my Kindle on the 24th. I love that it’s being released two weeks earlier than the print edition. I have a few books to read in order to catch up with this series, but as I own them all, and they’re super fast, I think I’ll be trying to read them all in February.
I am also so incredibly excited to get a chance to take a peek at the first eleven chapters of Lenore Appelhans’ LEVEL 2. Even though I know it’s going to be torturous to have to stop when I’m so far into the story. But as I have been dying to read this book, I don’t think I can wait until its official release date to dive in.
I am glad that it’s a bit quieter of a release week, because the first week of the new year is so packed full of new releases that I don’t know how I’ll ever catch up. And while it is likely I’ve missed one or two new books releasing this week, as that seems to be the case every week, I’m sure I’ll discover them in the next few days and order them instantly.
Because I just can’t pass up any book that looks awesome these days. I can’t. I won’t.
I hope you found some amazing titles that you have been waiting forever for. It’s always awesome when the wait is finally over and you can dive right in. Of course if they are books in a series that is continuing for a year or more, I hope the wait for the next installment will be a little less agonizing.
As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!
And if you have any great suggestions of “must read” books to buy that are releasing this week, please let me know!
