Luminosity Blog Tour: Top Five Guest Post + Giveaway

I am so excited to be today’s stop on Stephanie Thomas’s LUMINOSITY blog tour with a Top Five Guest Post and Giveaway. I have been super excited for this book’s release ever since I first saw the amazing cover ages ago. And that description absolutely killed me! I CANNOT WAIT to dive in.

I have LUMINOSITY on my Kindle right now and I’m just dying to start reading it so I can meet Beatrice and this enemy who she may be falling in love with. But I’m even more excited to check it out after having read the author’s five favorite scenes which totally TEASE but DON’T SPOIL this awesome book.

I could ramble on for awhile but you’re not here to listen to what I LOVE about this book. You’re here to see what Stephanie Thomas does. So I will turn this blog over to her.

But first, here’s a little bit…

ABOUT THE BOOK

[stextbox id=”custom” color=”5d7bad” bcolor=”3155a1″ bgcolor=”172645″]

My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.

The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.

But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I think I’ve already helped them win.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

[stextbox id=”custom” color=”5d7bad” bcolor=”3155a1″ bgcolor=”172645″]

Stephanie Thomas has been writing ever since she could put letters together to form words. When she was a small child, she would present her mother and father with self-made newspapers filled up with make believe stories and pictures. Her love for writing followed her all throughout her schooling, where she entered and won writing contests of all sorts.

Stephanie decided to become an English teacher and completed her B.A. at The Pennsylvania State University. While teaching, she later went on to get her Master’s in writing from The Johns Hopkins University. She completed her very first manuscript during her graduate studies, and by the end of the program, she had completed two more.

Stephanie is quick to tell anyone that she’s a born and raised Philadelphian, and her heart will always belong there. She moved to Baltimore with her husband, and they’ve been living there for the last five years with their doggie, Sailor, and their rabbit, Buns (aka “T Sizzle).

My Top Favorite Scenes (Without Giving Anything Away)

1.

The Execution Scene: This one was most vibrant in my mind, and my editors clung to it. I love how it repeats itself through the book in some way. It’s amazing how the scene evolved from the original version, since I didn’t originally write it to be a focus of the book. But it slowly became one, and I just love how it turned out.

2.

The Ending Scene: I wanted to write this scene so badly that I originally wrote it out of order. I was near the end of writing the book, but I wanted to get that scene out of my head ASAP, and so it was born and written before the actual end of the book.

3.

All the Dream Sequences: I loved writing the dream scenes because it was sort of like stream of consciousness writing. I could be much more free with details because it was all a dream, and we know that dreams can be bizarre things.

4.

The Pathos/Hanging Scene: I can’t give away too much about this one, but lets just say there’s lots of blood and gore.

5.

The Rooftop Scene: It involves Beatrice, Gabe and a secluded rooftop. Well, all except for those guards standing over there…

Oh my gosh this is such a tease! Just the scene names are making me absolutely desperate to start reading!

I love that the ending scene just had to be written and you couldn’t wait for the end to get it out. I think I’m going to have a major battle with my curiosity so as not to SKIP to the end to read it before I finish the book.

And blood and gore? Oooh love it! Though I’m a little scared of just WHO is being hanged….

I’m also so very curious about this “secluded” rooftop…. If Gabe is the best friend I hope that doesn’t mean what I think it could mean. The “best friend” role is never the safest one to have for a character….

Thank you so much for teasing your top five scenes. I have a feeling they will top the list of mine, too!
