So the four book trade I’d done over a month ago FINALLY arrived. After the mishap where the post office sent the books back to the sender, they were re-shipped and I finally have them. Only a couple slightly worse for wear.
And yes, I may have rambled about them on The Annex just a bit earlier this week, but I’m just so happy they finally arrived, that I finally got to take a picture and if I had a second to read, I’d devour them all.

It was either late September or early October when I traded for the four books in the above picture. But due to yet another post office glitch they hadn’t arrived until this past week. This time it wasn’t my post office, thankfully.
As it was awhile, I completely forgot about two of the books I traded for. Which made their arrival a HUGE surprise. And, I know, I was supposed to be on a trading ban. But I had decided to break the ban when the copy of EVERBOUND someone gifted to me never arrived. Twice. Still never received either copy. So when I was offered a copy for trade, I leaped at the chance. And when they mentioned a few other books I said yes, yes, yes.
Of course, since I made that trade I forgot about all of them except for EVERBOUND. Though I did have a vague recollection that I traded for SHARDS & ASHES. So it was a complete and total surprise when SHADOWS IN THE SILENCE and MIND GAMES showed up.
A happy surprise. An amazing surprise. Especially as SHADOWS IN THE SILENCE was the book I almost broke my ARC request ban for last month. Anyway…
Here are the books I have in my reading pile this week.
(November 18 – November 24, 2012)
I am still hampered by my NaNoWriMo quest for 50,000 words, so I’m once again adding just one book to the pile. And of course it’s EVERBOUND by Brodi Ashton. I’d been pining for this book since I was offered a copy in August and it’s turned into one I’m more than a little obsessed with.
And while I may have picked it up earlier in the week and read just a few pages, I really didn’t get the chance to start it. But I will. This week. Definitely. Because I want to find out what happens with Nikki, Jack and Cole.
I want to know whether… okay I can’t really talk about what I’m hoping because it would spoil/destroy/ruin the ending for EVERNEATH. And I can’t talk about what’s revealed in the description too much, either. Because that is super spoiler-y for book one, too.
But I want to know what happens next. I want to see which characters get a happy… or happier… ending. I want to see who is left heartbroken. I want to see who survives… if anyone.
I can’t wait to find out what “lengths” the characters will go for the ones they love, as the description promises. I just know I’ll be as heartbroken as I was for the first book in the series.
Brodi Ashton is an awesome writer and I am so excited about taking a journey through the Everneath in this sequel. I just hope the ending isn’t as torturous as the first book’s ending. Though I have a feeling it will be.
Wishful Thinking reads:
SHADOWS IN THE SILENCE by Courtney Allison Moulton is my wishful thinking read this week. One which I am going to try very, very hard to make more than just a wish.
Because I want to find out how this series ends. Even if I end up sobbing my way through it. Because I seriously loved each of its predecessors and I don’t want to miss out on this final installment. I must know what happens with Ellie, Will and Cadan. Even if it breaks my heart.
Those left behind:
I read Scott Tracey’s MOONSET last week. I think I finished it before the week had actually begun. It was a super quick one-sit-read and I easily devoured it. And of course I wanted more. Immediately. But as the sequel is not even close to being released… I’m not even sure if it’s been written or submitted… I have a long, long wait ahead of me. And already I’m dying.
I also went off-pile to read another book, but as I can’t count it toward my reading tally I won’t go on and on about it as I normally might.
And, of course, I’m still behind on those reviews. I had hoped, even with NaNoWriMo, I’d still find some time to write one or two. But sadly, I haven’t been able to find the time.
Fortunately the month is almost over… well, maybe not almost, but it’s close. And hopefully I’ll be able to catch up in early December.
NetGalley Pile Adds:
I didn’t request anything new from NetGalley this week. At least I don’t think I did. But I did get the big “DENIED” for the two Penguin books I’d requested from ages ago. So that’s two less books to add to my reading pile. At least until they’re released.
But I did break my ARC request ban. It has officially been a year since I last made a request, but when I saw SPELLCASTER by Claudia Gray was out, I couldn’t resist. And I’m keeping my fingers crossed extra tightly.
I am hoping to sneak RENEGADE by J.A. Souders onto the pile this week, too. As it is an eBook I might get it onto the pile before SHADOWS IN THE SILENCE. Because my Kindle has that built-in light that makes it much easier to read in bed. So I’m thinking that it will probably get read first. Maybe even before EVERBOUND.
Things have been a bit crazy with the blogoversary posts, but as the final one goes up tonight I will hopefully have more time to read and write reviews… or at least a Crush List post. Because there are quite a few books I’m crushing on right about now.
I am so excited about the book – and two potential books – I have on top of my reading pile this week. I hope you have some amazing books you’re planning on reading this week, too!
