There were a couple of books I’ve been looking forward to that are releasing on October 30th. But when I discovered TOUCHING THE SURFACE, and got the chance to read the description, I just knew that this would be the book to watch for the week of the 30th.
I love lyrical writing. Combine it with the fact that this is a paranormal story about the afterlife, righting wrongs and coming to grips with past actions, and it makes this story even more interesting and intriguing to me.
I’m very curious as to just what Elliot did in her life, who she wronged and who she killed, that kept her coming back again and again. I am a huge fan of stories where the character needs to earn their redemption. And I hope that Elliot is able to find the forgiveness she needs in order to move on.
This book sounds as if it just might be a heartbreaker. And with two boys she’ll have to come clean to about her past, it may be twice as heartbreaking if she were to lose them both when they find out the truth.
I am hopeful that this story will end somewhat happily, that at least Elliot will finally stop returning to the afterlife, that she’ll find peace. Even if she does end up losing both boys for her honesty.
TOUCHING THE SURFACE sounds beautiful and sad with the potential of a bittersweet ending. And I can’t wait to read it and find out for myself in just a few weeks. This is one debut novel I’m very excited to read and one I definitely feel deserves to be in the spotlight, which is why I chose it for my Book Watch post this week.

Oh, yes! This one has me so intrigued. Of course the cover first caught my eye with it’s wonderful hue. It’s quite stunning. The story has a lot of promise. Can’t wait to meet Eliot and get caught up in her, what sounds to be fairly unique, story. And so the TBR expands…

I’m getting a bit confused right now so I’ll have to go to goodreads and re-check.
I’ve seen this cover way too many times now but every single time it’s with a different tittle for a different book…
ANYWAY. Out of all those this is the one I’m definitely keeping my eye out for.
There’s definitely something to get excited for when the main character has to redeem herself AND when there are 2 boys involved + afterlife?
Someone get me a comfy pillow to snuggle in and hand me the book please!!
