My Reading Pile #81

Sep 29

I was completely surprised to find out that I received an audiobook for review this week in the mail. Aside from a book supposedly sent to me, which I have yet to receive, I did not expect anything in the mail. And yet my mailbox wasn’t empty.

Thanks to Macmillan Audio I received an audiobook copy of OUTPOST by Ann Aguirre for review. I was not expecting it at all so it was an awesome surprise. And it gives me the perfect excuse to read the first book in the series, ENCLAVE, which I’ve been dying to read. It sounds like such a “me” series that I can’t wait to read book one and listen to book two. Which will definitely happen in a couple of weeks.

Though I’d love to be able to pick both books up this week I will have to clear a few books off the pile first. But I can’t wait to finally get the chance to experience this series for myself.

Here are the books I have in my reading pile this week.

(September 30 – October 6, 2012)

First up on the pile is ERASING TIME by C.J. Hill. I’m on the blog tour this week and my stop is a review stop so I can’t wait to finally check this book out and share my thoughts.

I’ve been dying to read this book since I first heard about it. I love that the two main characters somehow end up trapped in the future in a world that’s completely different from the one they came from. And I can’t wait to see just how they manage to flee the government that brought them there.

This book promises “adrenaline-injected chases and heartbreaking confessions” and I can’t wait to read them all. This sounds like an awesome adventure story and I’m so super excited to meet Taylor and Sheridan and take the journey with them.

I really hope they are able to escape with Echo and get back to their time. But I’m guessing with a sequel planned for next year, it might not happen at the end of book one.

Next up on the pile is CRAVE by Melissa Darnell. Though I may end up finishing it before I finish ERASING TIME as I happened to pick it up just the other day and may not be able to set it down.

I’ve been wanting to read this book since before its release. I even got an early copy, but wasn’t able to read it… until now. I love the idea behind this book and can’t wait to find out just how this story ends. I’m on the book tour for COVET in October and while I don’t have to read both books for review, I want to.

I want to know more about The Clann and just why they are so afraid of Savannah Colbert. I want to know what’s so wrong about her being with Tristan. While I’ve read enough to know just what’s going on with Savannah, I still can’t imagine why The Clann is so wary of her. But I can’t wait to find out more.

The cover for this book is awesome and so far it’s been a super fast and easy read and I’m hoping if I read quickly enough I’ll be able to sneak a couple other books onto the pile this week that I’m really looking forward to reading. But especially the sequel, COVET.

Wishful Thinking reads:

I have two wishful thinking reads this week, but as I am still not settled into my new place and I have a few “must read” books for review, I can’t add either one to the pile this week. The first is Poison Princess by Kresley Cole. It releases this week and I so desperately want to devour that book. It sounds just so utterly amazing I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist the temptation to read it.

The next book is Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter. I think I’ve blathered on and on about this book enough, so I won’t do it again, but I’m desperate to get just a few hours to read this book. And I’m wishing, begging, pleading, that I’ll find those hours this week.

Those left behind:

I have not had the chance to read QUARANTINE just yet. But I will be reading it this week after I finish ERASING TIME. So I’m not too far behind. What I am behind on are reviews. Which I must get caught up on by next week.

And I really would love to get the chance to read a few of those “left behind” books from older reading piles. I have so many print books stacking up that I’d like to be able to pass along. I just have to read them first.

NetGalley Pile Adds:

I’ve been good. No NetGalley this week. Although the lack of internet access for most of it was definitely a reason I was able to stay away. But I am getting so very curious to see what’s coming up that I may have to check. Especially now that I’ve halted all trading.

I’ve learned one thing this past week and that’s moving and blogging don’t mix. Not only did I have zero time to write posts and post them, I didn’t have any energy left at the end of each long day to read.

So, my reading pile has grown. Though I’ve managed to catch up on a few television series I’d downloaded on iTunes prior to getting stuck completely offline for a few days. Such a guilty pleasure.

But now that I’ve found my Kindle I have no excuses. So it’s back to reading. Anyway….

I hope you have an awesome reading week ahead with some envy-inducing reads on your pile.
