Giveaway: Throne of Glass SIGNED

Sep 03

I purchased an extra copy of Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas from Books of Wonder and had planned on giving it away yesterday as part of my Throne of Glass Blog Tour stop. But that didn’t quite happen as planned and so I’m offering it up for giveaway today.

I absolutely loved Throne of Glass and can’t wait to read more of this series by the author. I may have given it my “Amazing” rating. Celaena is a seriously kick-a** heroine and I can’t wait to see what happens with her, Chaol Westfall and Prince Dorian Havilliard.

If you haven’t had a chance to read this awesome book, then you totally should move it up in your TBR piles. If it’s not yet there, just click on the photo above to add it on Goodreads.

And if you don’t yet own a copy, here’s a chance to win one. And it’s signed….

I keep seeing this all over the blogs. It sounds like a great read. I have no preference in either Epic or Urban.

Were you gripped by it right from the start or did it take a few chapters? What did you like best about the authors style?

Thank you so much for offering up your extra copy.

I was pulled in right from the start. Intrigued I think is a more accurate word than gripped from the start. I was curious about what was happening, who the character was and why she was making note of her surroundings in the way she was.

For me, I’m not typically gripped immediately from a high or epic fantasy story, it’s usually more of an intense curiosity. And I totally have to be in the mood. When I first picked it up I was dying to read it and not because of a review deadline so I fell into it much more easily. But because of the trailer and reading the description I was incredibly curious to find out about this character, Celaena, why she was an assassin, what this competition was about, etc.

The author made the characters very relatable even though it was set in a different time or place. There was such an easy flow to the story – even though the eARC I read was missing the “Th” at the beginning of every sentence that started with one. There were these beautiful passages and brief moments of beauty interspersed, but it wasn’t overpowering. I didn’t feel like I was reading an epic poem or narrative.

Not everything was resolved in this book – but it is a series – so I anticipate seeing more of the world that was touched upon, learning more about the MC’s past, etc. I also suspect much of that will be revealed in the short stories.

But to answer your question, I was easily and quickly carried away into this author’s world within the first few pages. It was her development of the main character that I loved most about the book – who knew I’d sympathize with and adore an assassin – and it was the easy flow mixed in with touches of beauty that kept me fully engaged with it.

Thank you. I love books that just grab me from the start. It doesn’t happen all the time so I look forward to trying this one out :) .

  3. I love both. I mean Epic Fantasy is where my love for reading began, but now I read mostly YA Paranormal, which is another name for urban fantasy for teens.

    Awesome giveaway as always!

  4. GREAT giveaway as always!! HAHAHAH :) ) thanks love;)

  5. This is my favorite book this year (so far) ! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  6. Throne of Glass sounds like a great read from what I’ve soon around the internet.

  8. I would so love to have this book, heard so many great things about it!!

  9. Thanks for the giveaway! =)

  10. I really want to read this one! It looks so good.
I love fantasy. I was not always a fantasy lover, just more of a recent thing, I think (although I have always been a HP fan and I do love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings stuff). I have the Chronicles of Narnia on my shelf that I keep wanting to read, but just have not found the time.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  11. I love both, but epic fantasy more.

  12. Oh my god I’d love to own this book!! I had to say both epic and urban but I chose urban overall haha xD I love them both of course though!

  13. Urban fantasy, but not by a long shot.. I like both.

  14. I’ve been on a big urban fantasy kick lately. I have a harder time getting into epic fantasy, but there’ll always be books that I’ll get into no matter how many elves and dragons they’ve got.

  15. Thank you for the chance to win! :)
