My Reading Pile #71
Jul 21
I didn’t technically get any books to read this week, but what I did get was a giant box of awesome from Rachel Vincent. I’d sent all the books for the Soul Screamers Reading Challenge to be signed and I got them back this week. So I had to share a picture of the awesome. And yes, I had a book of my own signed, too.
And I knew that the author was going to be signing some gorgeous postcards, but I didn’t know how gorgeous they’d be.
I’m in love…. There are no other words…. I am truly and utterly speechless.
And these are the books I got back…. Yes, they are all signed. And while the bottom two extras were ones I knew would be included, I believe the author added three more copies of Before I Wake to the box. Sooooo awesome.
[After cross-checking with my original photo, yes, there are three extra copies of Before I Wake in this pile.]
Well, while these books aren’t – mostly – technically for me and they aren’t books to read for review, I now want to start reading this series all over again. But I should probably read this book instead….
Here are the books I have in my reading pile this week.
(July 22 – July 28, 2012)
***
Once again I’m only adding one book to the pile. The tour has taken up all my free time and so I haven’t read in weeks. So I definitely have a lot of catching up to do. Including with this book, which has made it back on the pile this week.
I’d started reading Onyx a few weeks ago and had to put it down to get other things done. Well I’m picking it back up. Because all this talk about Daemon Black has made me pretty desperate to find out more…. About him, of course…. Oh, and the story too!
And as I’ve gone into detail a couple times before – in my Teasers post and in a previous Reading Pile post, I won’t blather on again. But I am desperate to see Daemon torment Katy. And I am nervously anticipating the torture the author will put me through with this book.
I can’t wait to finally see what happens in Onyx and just how this book in the series ends. I’m really and truly hoping the cliff is not too big. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was.

Wishful Thinking reads:
I want to read lots and lots of books that I don’t even have in my possession. One of those of course being Biting Cold by Chloe Neill. But fortunately for me the wait ends soon as it comes out next month. And then there is Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh. A book I’ve been waiting a lifetime for. And I would love for the wait to be over.
But I have to say Unraveled by Elizabeth Norris is my wishful thinking read this week. I’ve heard so many awesome things about it, and hearing from fans of the book made me want to grab the ARC off my shelf or download the finished eBook onto my Kindle this week. With a couple review books to catch up on, I doubt I’ll be able to, but I really, really wish I could.

Those left behind:
Everything. From last week and the week before and possibly the week before that. Though I’m taking Ten with me this weekend because I can’t wait to read it. And of course I’ll have all of my books with me on my Kindle, so who knows what other missed read I might be able to sneak in this week.
I am ever hopeful….

NetGalley Pile Adds:
I didn’t get any new books from NetGalley this week. I’ve been good. Though I know I’m missing out on the awesome. But it’s better this way. Especially since I haven’t read a thing in weeks. Weeks!
What’s my excuse this week? Planning an event with my co-hosts that was supposed to be great and ended up being epic.
A month of authors was more than I’d ever hoped for in our Authors Are Rockstars Tour. I never anticipated we’d get 31 let alone 88 authors on tour. But that’s what happened. And I’m beyond belief happy. But it takes much more work putting together an event of 88 versus one of 31. Especially when there are… how shall we say… “glitches.”
And so I haven’t read at all this week as the event planning took all my free time. Every last second of it. But the majority of the work is done. For now. At least until the tour starts. So I’m hoping to catch up on my reads. And maybe write a review or two.

Do you create a reading pile?
If so, what’s in your pile this week?

Yay! Cannot wait for my copies! The postcard is beautiful. As for the reading pile…I had Unraveled on my wishlist as soon as I saw it on the debut releases list and all the great buzz makes me wish I already had it. Must. Get. I’m also itching to get to some J. Armentrout, though I’ll be starting with Half Blood as it was gifted to me. Jennifer is an author I’ve following for awhile just because a couple of my friends just rave about her…and I must meet these men of hers.
Another author you’ve mentioned recently that I must read and have sitting in my tbr is Amanda Hocking. Again, I’ll be starting with a different series, but hers are also books I just can’t stand to put off any longer.
Your reading pile posts are some of my favorites…they remind me of all the lovely books I have waiting for me, add to my anticipation for those on my wishlist AND add to my wishlist…I’m not sure I’m grateful for that last part. Lol. Anyway, your enthusiasm always sparks mine and helps me to remember any we’re all here…for the love of books. I’m dying to get my BIW, btw! (No pressure!)
HAPPY READING, Rachel!
I’m going to reread Onyx this week too! Silly me, when I read it a couple of months ago I didn’t write a review right away so I think that I’d better refresh myself. And plus, it’s Daemon Black, you can’t go wrong in rereading about him…
Oh my gosh, the postcards are so, so gorgeous!!! The huge pile of Soul Screamers is too, of course!!!
I can only imagine how much work it must be to host and organize a tour of these epic proportions. You guys deserve a medal or something! YOU are ROCKSTARS!!! Seriously!!!
I’m finally reading again.
“Insurgent” helped me get out of my slump. This week I’m reading the book I got review (House of Shadows) and I also have to try and get to my book club read, which is “Water For Elephants” this month.
I still need to get back into writing though… *sigh*
Anyway! I hope you’ll find some time this week to read a little bit. I am anxiously awaiting any Daemon teasers you might come up with.
~oh the heavens~
Didn’t you catch a glimpse of paradise when you got the Soul Screamers SIGNED awesomeness?? Because I sure did.
AND
That postcard is so awesome I want to die! *-* ~reaches out tentatively~ Can I pet it??? O___O
Anyway. Hope. FIRST that you ARE okay… ARE you okay??? I just read the sidebar status thing *_* If you’re still sick I hope you get better SOON.
and Second… Hope you can finally get to read Onyx, and besides remembering 2012 as one of the most awesome years since I started reading I’ll also remember it for you not reading in weeks… I think you deserve to be on Forbes or something…
I WAS bad and I went to netgalley but only because I saw there was a contemporary there that I thought I’d love-haven’t opened the galley yet but I was approved so YEY!- and I didn’t finish any book this week but I finally started one of my review books, Glitch and it’s kind of good so far >..< Read!

UH-oh… Are those ‘glitches’ good or bad??
But I still cannot believe I’m on the tour. I cried a bit-serious no joking-when I received the email plus,~clears throat~ you practically killed me with a certain DM on twitter ¬__________¬ Thanks very much, as if I didn’t die enough already…
And yeap… I guess that’s it, hopefully, if not I have to just come here and fill out yet another comment box to spam you!!
You all three rock girls >.< Read!

Wow! The postcard is absolutely gorgeous! Also, that was definitely super awesome of her to send additional copies. However, I would say you are her biggest supporter! And of course.. YOU ROCK!
