Giveaway: Juliet Immortal SIGNED

As I may have mentioned last week, I was wandering through my local Barnes & Noble and I came upon a few signed books that I just couldn’t pass up. As I already own Juliet Immortal and I don’t keep unpersonalized, unsigned books, I knew I’d be offering this up for giveaway.

I haven’t had a chance to read Juliet Immortal but it’s on my TBR pile along with the second book in the series, Romeo Redeemed. If you’d like to check it out, the image above links to Goodreads.

I debated hosting a giveaway this week after my discovery last week about how people cheat using Rafflecopter, thanks to Parajunkee’s post, here. But I purchased this book specifically for giveaway, and so I will be offering it up. But this may be my very last non-author giveaway depending upon just how honest people are in this one.

And because of people’s dishonesty, I will be requiring a comment – so yes, a hoop – as an added deterrent and it is now only one entry per household unless I know already that someone has a sibling or family member who is a real live person.

I will be monitoring IP addresses, too, which doesn’t guarantee a person is cheating, but if things are suspect, i.e., multiple entries within minutes from one IP address, I will void those entries.

Sorry for all the extra nonsense, but discovering that certain individuals were cheating the system and walking off with prizes I spent my own money on feels much, much worse. Thank you, lovely honest people, for understanding. And hey, maybe without cheaters, Rafflecopter will be kind!

Wow, I didn’t know that cheating had gotten that bad. It’s ridiculous that people would actually go through all that trouble to cheat.

  2. Natasha says:

Thanks for the chance to win!!

  3. Mary Ann Woods says:

It is very sad that people get so desperate to win a book that they have to cheat like this. It just makes it more complicated for all of us others who are trying to do everything correctly. Thanks for taking the time to explain it all!

  4. Lesley says:

Thank you, looks like an amazing read!

I can’t believe people feel the need to cheat. It only shows how bad they are, especially when they win….

Ah well…Thanks for another amazing giveaway, and good luck to everyone who enters (without cheating of course)

The summary sounds interesting on this and its kind of a coincidence since my english class just got done reading the Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet. I’m curious to see what’sgoing to happen in this version of it.

    What’s an IP adress?

  9. linda foster says:

It sounds like a great book. I am very excited and hope to win. I hate cheaters 🙁

  10. Cheryl says:

Yes, it sucks that people cheat, even more so when it appears that some of us are going to be excluded because of it.

My sister and I live together and share a computer. You say you’ll allow multiple entries from IP addresses when you know there’s a sibling, etc. who’s a real live person. How are we supposed to prove it, though? Are people going to start adding proof of life buttons to Rafflecopter?

  11. Jeniffer Y says:

Ooh, I hope this book is better than the actual Romeo and Juliet! Thanks for the giveaway! 😀

It’s a pity what you say about people cheating. I understand that it is very tempting, when the prizes are as awesome as this book, but still, it’s not fair. Well, thank you very much for your honesty and for the giveaway 🙂

  19. Zara Alexis says:

What a terrible discovery to think people go to such lengths to win a contest. I’m a book fanatic and a reviewer for my blog, The Bibliotaphe’s Closet, so I fully understand where you’re coming from. As for me, 99% of my giveaways come straight out of my pocket! And to think I just used Rafflecopter for the first time for a giveaway I’m participating in right now. Boo, to the cheaters! Try not to let them get to you and ruin it for the rest of us! Hopefully, Rafflecopter will be kind and choose wisely!

Thanks for the giveaway. It looks like a fun read.

  20. Alaiel Kreuz says:

Sorry to hear about the cheating… although I’m almost sure I entered a few giveaways twice since I have two FB accounts (my blogger one and the “real” one which I use in different browsers so sometimes I’m sure I’ve messed up, sigh)… I’m gonna have t check your post about it ’cause I haven’t seen it.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the giveaway and cheer up, we love you a lot and I’m sure everybody appreciates your kindness.

You haven’t been one of those on my watch list. Besides, if they’re spaced out by days it seems more accidental and can be ignored. But when the same IP address and “user” with multiple names enters eight times in less than 10 minutes, you know they’re logging out and logging back in with different credentials. And if it were friends or family entering, it wouldn’t be able to be switched that quickly, or the names would be more realistic versus some of these oddball fake names. 🙁

I Rambled about it on The Annex, but it was Parajunkee’s post that got me to find out it was even possible. Am so sad. Thank you so much. 🙂

  21. Great giveaway! I’ve heard wonderful things about this book … and the cover is very pretty. 🙂

  22. Beatriz Guadron says:

I really don’t get why people feel the need to cheat on these giveaways. It really messes it up for the rest of us who don’t even know how to cheat.

Anyways, this book sounds great! Even if I don’t win the giveaway, I’ll most likely be picking it up at some point. And thanks for still doing the giveaway! 🙂

  23. Holly says:

I really loved reading Juliet Immortal! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  24. Kelly R says:

It really stinks that people cheat like that.
I want to thank you for the giveaway..
