Top 10 Week: Sign up and share your lists for a chance to WIN!

With 2011 quickly coming to a close, there are only a few weeks left to figure out what books to include in this year’s Top 10 Week posts.

I’ve really, really tried to start early on creating my lists for this week-long event, but I have to say that I haven’t been able to commit to ten books for any of them. I’m terrible at narrowing things down to just ten, and this has really not been easy. Not at all.

So, are you having the same problem as I am with sticking to just ten?  Or was this easy-peasy for you? If so, I’m super jealous!

Did you add a few “honorable mentions” to the list when things got too difficult? Did you resort to “eenie, meenie” when you just couldn’t decide?

All of us involved in the event would love to know how things are going with your lists! And I’m sure other participants are just as curious to see if you have had any speed-bumps or roadblocks along  the way. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know how things are going!

And we thought that now would be a great time to check in and to post some additional information about our week-long event. So….

First off, we’re really excited to see how many of you will be joining in with posts for the last week of the year. And if you haven’t signed up, not to worry… there’s still plenty of time! The more the merrier! I know we’re just as excited to check out everyone’s lists as we are to post each of ours.

In the first post about the event we mentioned a giveaway. Well, we’re happy to announce that each person who signs up AND participates will be entered into a giveaway for…….

A $50.00 Amazon Gift Card!

ONE lucky participant will be eligible to win! Entering is easy. Get your first entry by signing up for the event with the Linky at this post by…

The post will have all the details about the event!

To receive additional entries, be sure that you visit one of the four co-hosts’ blogs from December 26th through the 30th. Each of these days will have a Linky for that day’s Top 10 List.

All you have to do to get that extra entry is to link YOUR list with the correct topic for the day and you’re set! Just remember, EACH of the five days will have a NEW Linky for that day’s Top 10 Topic. We will be checking the winner’s links to make sure that they have participated.

Your monday topic is the one of the Top Ten Tuesday meme on the 27th. : D I suppose I’ll just post my TTT earlier then. (If such a crossover is okay, that is.)

    Great idea!

    • Fiktshun009 says:

The main hosts of this event are actually working together with one of the hosts of the TTT bloggers since one or two of the topics are similar. Hard not to be with Top Ten lists at the end of the year, I suppose. Especially Top Ten Books Read!

I actually participate in Top Ten Tuesday on one of my other blogs and I am actually thinking of doing Top Ten Debut books read on one day and Top Ten Non-Debut books read on another. It’s a way I can get more than 10 in for the week and participate in both!

Crossover is absolutely fine! I had no idea when I agreed to co-host that one or two of the posts were the same – or I might have suggested matching the days up! I don’t tend to check out topics in advance so I had no idea about the similarities.

  2. Carina says:

This is such a lovely idea, although I can see myself struggling with keeping these lists limited to 10 already. 😀

Thank you (and the other wonderful ladies) for organizing this!

It is a wonderful idea. Lisa at A Life Bound by Books has done all the work in getting this together so beautifully! I am struggling with those lists. Just thinking about only ten makes me nervous!

I hope you participate and share your lists! It’s such fun to check out everyone’s favorites.

  3. YES! We talked the other day about my not being able to keep it to 10 and under! *sigh*

Seriously, this is SUCH a good idea!! 😀 Saturday the 31st should be Top 10 Zombie books… Just saying. 😉 maybe in 2012!!

    • Fiktshun009 says:

Oh I would love a top ten zombie books post! Granted, I don’t know that I’ve read ten yet,but I’m sure I could find ten zombie books worth reading! But you could always do that for your characters post!

Yeah and keeping that list to ten – not gonna happen. LOL!

  4. Mindy says:

I totally need to start working on my list! Thanks for reminding me.

    • Fiktshun009 says:

Oh me too! It would be nice to have them set up before the holidays to give myself a little break. Don’t know if that will happen though! LOL.

  5. I can’t wait to make these lists. I have been thinking about some in my head and I know it will end up getting hard to narrow it down when I actually have to. I really want to start working on it now, but I have so many sewing projects that I can’t do it yet.

  6. Caitlin says:

I am struggling! I’ve read a couple of full series this year, so I’m thinking I might cheat and put a whole series for one entry…that’s totally acceptable…right? right??! But yeah its SO hard. read so many good books. The book boyfriend list is easiest for me as I’m SO picky when it comes to them haha!

I cannot wait for this event

    The Cait Files

  7. Aleksandra says:

It’s already hard to narrow them down 😉 Although there are some that I know I’ll include on each list, for half of each list I’ll decide while writing the posts, so I’ll try to keep to 10, although I already plan to cheat a little with the covers 😉 I want to put all 3 House of Comarre covers as one 😀 I hope that’s ok 😉

  8. Avery says:

I started working on this last night! So far I have been able to stick to 10 books a topic (with no honorable mentions or anything), but I gotta admit, it was a bit difficult to so do! 😉

  9. Sonia says:

Thanks for reminding me! I saw this last night and completed 2 of my lists, although that in itself was a HUGE challenge. Narrowing down my favourite book boyfriends? Favourite BOOKS? SOB SOB SOB. I want to include aaaaaall the books. I LOVE ALL THE BOOKS!

  10. Sophia Chang says:

Oh man I wish I’d seen this post at the beginning of the week – it’s so much more clearer about the rules! lol

Hopefully I got it right for tomorrow because I’m looking forward to reading books in 2012 that were published before then.
